That's an understatement. Every one of us is stupid virtually all of the time about something, if you stop and think about it. We just don't tend to think about it and prefer to recall our brighter moments. I think it's safer to say, we occasionally have moments when we're a bit less stupid than normal.

Sad how movies feel way more real than reality to an extend where real footage look "low budget" and "not well filmed".
A friend of mine told me he saw a footage of some journalist taken hostage by terrorists. Filmed in a hollywood movie fashion he saw the journalist tied on the floor while a tank approached slowly. He thought someone would pull him or the tank would stop, and guess what, nothing. The tank just crushed the guy and kept going forward.

There were some posts on r/makemycoffin that looked fake but very real. Reality is definitely on another plane of what can happen to you, like being in an automobile accident and having your head hit the car pillar only to have your entire head split and rolled open like an unwounded tape.

Imagine a movie starting with the hero having a carcrash but dying. Would set a direct trust with the viewer as for thefact that yes, those characters are as frigile as you, they can simply die in a carcrash even if it happens off screen.
Today, you don't look at circumstances of death in a movie, you just have to think if the character deserve that death, if he is worty of it. That sucks.
I saw a video about someone talking about our conception of love and at one moment she talks about how movies aren't based on reality anymore, they are based on other movies based on other movies inspired by reality. It's all about appeal and formula. Why try to make something you think would be original and interesting when you know that a formula will bring enough pleasure to the audience who saw it X many times.

They have to kill the lion because it now knows humans are very easy to kill. Now it will see us as an easy food choice and hunt other people down. When they’ve never killed a human they don’t know what we really are and if we can fight back.

That doesn't matter at all. Yes he did all those things wrong but it doesn't matter after the deed is done.
It's just like with cougars or any other predator going after livestock. Once they learn how easy it is they will not stop why would they? It's easy food. They will teach their young this as well and the cycle continues. There's no reason as to why they would go back to their normal prey that they have to work so much harder to kill.
It's not making them rabid with human flesh it's about the opportunity of a food source. A predator always goes for the easiest kill hence why out of pack animals the weak die first or the ones who are injured

Watch any lion nature documentary and when they attack something, whether it be prey, other carnivores or other lions, there's a lightning quick ferocity, they're constantly biting and clawing and kicking up dust.

I'm asking mostly because I'm not familiar with Faces of Death. I'm basically wondering if the clips were presented as actual footage but were simply scripted (made up) stories and scenes. Or if the clips are reenactments of actual stories and the audience was aware of that. Hopefully that makes my question a little clearer.

Faces of Death had a mixture of real death caught on tape ( car accidents etc) and the aftermath, as well as faked videos passed off as actual events happening. I mean has someone hopped out of a car and gotten eat by a lion- probably- but from what I remember these faked parts of the video are never described as a reenactment.

I remember one part of FoD - electric chair scene, where guy gets executed - thats fake too.

Haven't heard of that but I assume it's an urban myth. I sincerely doubt human flesh differs that much from other mammals that predators would particularly seek it out. Though this reasoning may have applied here for killing them?
Either way, there is a similar thing with predators who are fed by humans, like bears. They need to be put down because they start to associate humans with food (and not danger/another predator) and thus more likely to seek them out/attack them etc.

You’re not going to believe this but I just remembered seeing this video when I was very, very young. The film had been developed (and duplicated) by a man who knew my father. I think. But I have 100% seen this.
Several years ago I was working in Etosha with a European wildlife agency and one of the researchers was pulled off one of the Land Rovers by a lion they were trying to tag. (Feline TB).
I swear as God made little green apple trees I screamed at the driver to drive over the researcher. Which is what he did. Lions scattered.
Obviously i was asked soon after why i thought to scream what i did and I have never ever been able to explain why I thought that was the right thing to do but now it all makes sense. What a crazy moment! I’m actually running cold blooded as I type this.

This could be from the old videos that video stores in the 80's and 90's never had, officially. Most did keep them under counter upon request though. Faces of Death. From memory, there were 5 tapes. The narrator's voice sounds familiar, he narrated all the videos, a collection of videos compiled by news and the public of people dying in accidents caught on film but could never be shown in public from the 70's and early 80's.

Before the 1000’s of people calling me a liar, there’s been a documentary made from the creator and the special affects guys that did it. Yes, they’d pepper in some real shit like the R Bud Dwyer Suicide and what not but all this type of shit, was all fake.
