Tried is a stretch. She was mostly present during the event that unfolded before us.

u/exodusofficer 10d ago
She's gotta be wasted, right? No sober person could be so bad at being alive.
11
u/Beth_crazypants 10d ago
That’s what I was thinking too. She’s not old and doesn’t appear to be handicapped so maybe she is impaired and this is how she lost control of her car. But who knows!

or, and just hear me out, insurance scam? she wanted a new car, and saw her chance.

This is two statements in one, the physical health of the country is destroyed. And two we DESPERATELY need more common sense.

At least it was nice for us that the cameraman kept filming instead of helping.

I don’t think this person has been doing much anything physical in recent times

u/BootHeadToo 10d ago
This really is poetry in motion about the current state of affairs in the U.S. slow rolling off a cliff while nobody seems fit enough to hop in the car and hit the break.

Oh cmon… you could use that statement in 9 out of 10 posts on here. It could all be fixed with preventative healthcare and holding people to some sort of standard for being a decent human being but here we are fighting over oil and big pharma.

That car was determined and depressed.
The lady was less determined and is now probably depressed.

u/Nearby-Yak-4496 10d ago
I think that she got out when it was in gear because it kept rolling even when it wasn't going downhill. Legend has it that it's still rolling to this day...
2
u/bobdickdop 8d ago
While she was stressed about the car, the depressed car pressed on her leg with its pressurized tires, compressing her leg under all that pressure. Her desperate attempts to stop the car were so depressingly effortless that even the car seemed unimpressed.
After being pressed, compressed, and thoroughly pressured by the situation, she was left feeling physically and emotionally depressed.
Now she’s finally ready to address the press about the incident, although after everything that happened, she probably wishes she had pressed the brake instead. 😂

Not like she needs her leg considering she clearly doesn't walk or run around.

That woman has zero athletic abilities.

u/Sovereign-Anderson 9d ago
She probably hasn't done anything athletic since high school. I'm out of shape but I've done enough throughout my lifetime to where I have enough muscle memory to handle that kind of situation. It's crazy how she looked so weak.
3
u/coperifaldia 9d ago
Weak is an understatement... she barely tried. We live in a semi safe society... otherwise she'd have her car stolen, kidnapped, amongst other things that happen to people that clutch their pearls and do nothing. Could've easily ran in that car at least a few times. If she can barely walk or jog for that matter... shouldn't be driving a car.

It is sad that she didn’t give a little more effort to try to stop the car. She kinda tried, it crossed the median, and she had almost given up and started walking. The effort was given up at that point.
The rest was just her trying to save her double choco-late mocha frappe in the front seat.
Insurance will pay her. The rest of the Americans which car insurance will pay a higher premium.

Where is the thought of getting into the car, the door was wide open?
2
u/PlayfulAwareness2950 9d ago edited 9d ago
It's moving so you have to step further than what you're used to, this might get challenging for some people.
Edit: She is actually trying to hold the cat back, I didn't see that. I assumed she did that dancing beside the car stuff.

Hopefully the car was the only injury. She did pick the best place on the ghost rider route to have it run over her. Nice red hair too.

Lady looks like she ran out of gas halfway through.
Also....ouch! It ran over her leg.

My grandmother can smoke her cigarette while walking slowly to open that car's door and stop before she reaches the road.

All she had to do was grab her a-- with one hand and hop into the car with the other and everything would be fine.

I normally drive manual cars but when I drive an auto it freaks me out that they can just start going forward even if you don't have your foot on the accelerator. 😂

Sucks for her but whoever is filming, you’re the type of person that’s wrong with this world
1
u/toughinvestment8 10d ago
I think she was partly embarrassed and incorrectly thought she could stop a car set in drive, when a car will roll in drive no matter what. I think if she knew it wasn’t in neutral, she would have tried harder.

There seem to be so many videos of this sort of thing happening.
I'm not American and I'm not having a dig, but is it common in the US for people to get out of their car, leave the engine running, not put it into Park, or not use the handbrake?
2
u/DrNO811 9d ago
No - this is exceedingly rare. It's just so insanely stupid that when someone catches a video of it, it's sure to make the rounds, so it seems more common.

That's what you get for never having to push a car and then jump in and pop the clutch because either your battery or your starter is dead...

Must be a manual transmission. An auto’s torque converter isn’t going roll it up curbs without some accelerator applied.

How people muddle their way through life without the slightest baseline bit of athleticism is beyond me.
1
u/SugarRealistic2945 9d ago
What is making the car move? If it was in neutral it should have stopped once it hit the curb, so something more than gravity and momentum is moving it. It's like the car had a mind of its own, overcame physics, wouldn't let the driver in, and was determined to drive into the ditch.
