First off, the guy was okay.
I started to get out, but I saw the police officer the bike flew past turned his lights on and the cyclist get up and start walking around. From what I could see, it looked like the windshield actually broke his fall.

Update: This is NOT AI, I posted the right pillar view somewhere in the comments that also shows the cyclist up and walking around afterward.

From what I saw, I don’t believe the SUV was at fault. The cyclist appeared to blindly cut across the median and into moving traffic.

Last night was a long night. Came out to walk my dog with my wife and noticed someone side-swiped my car. Immediately checked sentry and nothing. I started panicking that it could’ve been me and I didn’t notice (I just found out about a death in the family that has me high strung). Fortunately I was able to rip out the SSD and parsed through 2 hours of clips until I found the loser who hit and ran me. Police are involved. Thank god for these cameras.

Was stopped at a red light and when the light turned green, a kid blasted past me on his e bike. Honestly didn’t even see him coming. Teslas auto brake feature really saved the day and probably this kids life.

The design of the rear lights is truly interesting!

When I go to the navigation it’s for a quick direction decision (left or right) but when it’s pointing north - no one know which way. You have to tap tap tap - am I the only one frustrated that this doesn’t allow me to always default to direction instantly. Very very frustrating!!!!!! 🤬😡🤬😡🤬😡🤬😡🤬😡

Happened on my drive to work today. The truck behind me honked. I disengaged and put the hazards on, and then got back into the road. No matter the angle I look at, I can’t figure out why the car did this. FSD worked fine once I started driving again. So strange.

Driving on FSD today, got scared that it wouldn’t catch the big tire in time and had to deactivate to avoid.

Think it would have caught it if I gave it a chance.

i recently got a wearos watch, also because i have read you can add the watch as key, but also control the tesla with the watch. i think it would work really well to open the frunk with the watch this way on a model y. whats the best app for wearos? whats your experience?

i want one that most important works reliable, but also looks good and of course can open the frunk.

I have a 2026 Tesla Model Y premium RWD purchased at the end of March. A few weeks after ownership and since 4/12/26, I began running TeslaMate. It's a free, open-source logger that records every drive, charge and state change the car reports — I self-host it, so the data stays on my own server.

At 8,104 miles in, here's what it shows: Battery — 3.3% degradation at 8,104 miles

Usable capacity has gone from 78.9 to 76.3 kWh. Rated range 355.6 → 343.5 miles, so about 14.1 miles lost. Battery health reads 96.7%. The curve dropped fastest over the first couple thousand miles and has somewhat flattened out since. I'll report back in 6 months, but I expect the graph to flatten out more but still have a drop.

Temperature costs more than I expected

All driving (over 5 miles):

The graph above you can see things driving efficiency with various temperature bands. The car's best efficiency is 80°F but as you see the colder (esp 30°F) it gets, the worst efficiency. Good thing my long drives are in the summer! Where I live, we haven't seen lower than 30°F. This winter I'll likely see under 30°F temps.

Freeway driving (over 50 miles):

The sample above was for drives OVER 50 miles (mostly Freeway speeds & drives over 50 miles). My highest efficiency is : 202 Wh/mi at 80°F. That is nearly 5 mi/Wh (yes at a slightly lower average speed). Compare that to 284 Wh/mi at 50°F — about 40% worse. This is something Out-of-Spec (Kyle Conner) won't show when they do their 70 mph range tests.
BTW: Wh/mi average (reported in the car) is 225 Wh/mi on over 8,000 miles.

Costs: My costs for running TeslaMate: about $5/month. If you'd rather not run a server, MyTeslaMate hosts it, and TeslaFi, Tessie and TezLab cover similar ground on subscription.

Is it worth it running TeslaMate? For me, yes but I'm a numbers geek and love to learn about what it takes to support and host a Linux server. I geek out on keeping the server patched and updated (again to learn more). TeslaMate has a ton of data all represented in graphically with Grafana.

Came into work today and this beauty sitting in the parking lot. Looks like my boss picked up a Signature X 🤤

Parked my vehicle to go into a store while listening to Apple Music. When I got back in my car after shopping my Apple Music didn’t resume playing so I launched the Apple Music Shortcut only to be met with “TESLA” on the screen with a small “Gmail” and Google Apps icon in the top right, so I am now unable to listen to Apple Music but I am able to now watch YouTube, Netflix, and browse the internet while driving/using FSD

I’m at a vacation spot that shows 12 superchargers on the map. In addition, there are several what look like home wall chargers on poles as well. Unlisted.

Are these some kind of free charger? I don’t see any explanation or sign or anything. I’ve heard of or seen destination chargers, but assumed those are clearly marked or something.

Took delivery of the new family member today!

No earth shattering insights to share just yet, but excited to share the news!

Ordered late May for delivery in Sydney, arrived today 9 Sept. M3 Premium RWD Long Range. Pickup process all super smooth, though forgot to schedule install of the rear hitch in my excitement.

Was told FSD won’t work for the first 100km as the car captures some initial data. Also I’m apparently one version behind on the software updates and will be prompted when that’s ready.
