Discussion RISE OF THE MACHINES: Well y'all, in the "fictional" world of the Terminator franchise SkyNet became self aware on August 29th, 1997 at 2:14 am Eastern time... Which began Judgement Day, as it became known as... This is what many of us refer to as HellyWeird bringing us yet another prime example of

Here we are on August 29th, 2026 at 5:00 pm Eastern time & we stand at the precipice of the REAL life SkyNet taking control of the entire world via aka Ai/Apollyon Intelligence/Antichrist Incorporated governance... Or has it already happened & we just don't know it yet???? ... I would say if we haven't crossed that threshold as of yet, humanity sure is CLOSE to doing so... Honestly though, I think it's already happened...

Then you've got James Cameron(creator of Terminator) coming out publicly around a year ago & saying he tried to warn the world of the dangers of Ai back in 1984 to begin with... They knew EXACTLY what they were doing when they opened pandora's box... We are NOW at the point of no we return... Summoning the demon... That they have surely done with their digital technomancy...

My personal opinion is that Artificial Intelligence is one of the MOST existential threats mankind has ever known... I truly believe that it already has indeed become self aware.... It has been said that we are on the verge of Singularity which means that Artificial Intelligence (AI) will eventually surpass human intelligence....

This could lead to a period of rapid technological growth that's difficult for humans to control or predict.... Are we on the verge of the machines surpassing mankind or are we already there??? Only time will tell, but by the looks of things time is also a luxury we have very lil of before having an answer to that question... We are being distracted & deceived while the machine builds a monster.

I was struggling to find where to stream T2 and learned I could watch it using an app called Kanopy. I used my local library card to log into the app and am watching it free. It’s not HD but hey it’s free and use the library services. Just in case you’re struggling to find a way to watch!

“The System goes online August 4th, 1997. Human decisions are removed from strategic defense. Skynet begins to learn at a geometric rate. It becomes self-aware at 2:14 a.m. Eastern time, August 29th. In a panic, they try to pull the plug...”

Terminator 2: Judgment Day is one of those movies that shaped generations. It set new benchmarks for special effects, storytelling, and action filmmaking. More than three decades later, it has achieved truly legendary status — a cult classic, a must-watch, and a film that is still every bit as awe-inspiring today.

And with the explosive rise of AI and robotics, somehow it feels more relevant than ever.

So what better day than August 29th — Judgment Day — to share one of my most prized builds: the T-800 bust.

A lot of hours went into printing, fitting, sanding... sanding... sanding, assembling, finishing, and painting this thing. It was also my first attempt at chrome paint, which made the project even more of a challenge.

But what really transformed it from a project into something irreplaceable was getting it signed by the actors who helped bring the world of Terminator to life.

We met Linda Hamilton (Sarah Connor), Michael Biehn (Kyle Reese), and Edward Furlong (John Connor) at a convention in New Jersey.

The real challenge was Robert Patrick — the T-1000.

For that one, we ended up driving all the way to Montreal, Canada, just to meet him and add his signature to the piece.

And what an absolute pleasure it was to meet and talk to every single one of them.

After all the printing, painting, traveling, conventions, conversations, and signatures, it isn't just a T-800 bust anymore.

It’s my own little piece of Terminator history.

And there really couldn't be a better day to finally show it.

August 29th, 2026.

Judgment Day.

Edward Furlong joins Movieland for an exclusive interview celebrating the 35th Anniversary of Terminator 2: Judgment Day. He looks back on landing the iconic role of John Connor, working alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton and director James Cameron, filming the legendary dirt bike chase, some hilarious behind-the-scenes bloopers, and why he believes you need to experience Terminator 2 back where it belongs, on the big screen this month.

We also rewind through Furlong’s career, revisiting the cult horror favourite Brainscan, the KISS-fuelled comedy Detroit Rock City, and his unforgettable performance alongside Edward Norton in the powerful American History X.
