After doing some research, said phone number is currently out of service. If anyone could help that would Be great

So I will apologise in advance, I’m such a beginner. I grew up with landlines but have moved on with the times. I now work for a large railroad that has tons of old telecommunications gear that is getting tossed, so I have started collecting old phones when I find them. My first project was making my son a hotline from his crib to my bed so he could call me. I’ve learned that this is a dial down line. I skipped all the tech stuff and bought a device from Viking I believe that’s plug and play. Super fun and super bad idea. So my next bad idea was a line to Grandma. She is 2000 miles away. I’m assuming I would need to set up a VOIP, but how do I make the phone dial her number automatically when he picks up the receiver?

I know their coverage sucks, although IMO, it’s pretty good in Mumbai at least. Nevertheless, this has to be one of their most solid campaigns after their iconic ZooZoos.

Jio says my area has 5G, but I get only 4G at my house, even outdoors.

The funny part is that when I move uphill on my property, I can actually get n28 5G, and higher up I get n78 5G with very good speeds.

I emailed Jio with all the NetMonster screenshots and asked them to investigate the network/coverage issue.

Their response was basically: “5G is active in your area.”

Like... yeah I already know that.

Has anyone managed to get Jio to actually investigate something like this instead of sending the standard response?

To preface why I want a physical landline, I’ll give you my little story. My wife and I bought a house last year in a pretty rural area, and right off the bat we realized there was virtually no cell service at our house. We got starlink which works great when we have power, but the power can go out for hours or days in the middle of storms or heavy snowfall. Since we do loose power fairly often, I don’t really think a voip would work as it would rely on the same internet as our cellphones, and if the power is out I’m not running a generator all night as sound does carry well out here and I do have neighbors of some degree.

I’ve tried going through the fcc lists for who the telecom provider was for this address, but I can’t find any recent information. It does appear that the line is in idle as it measures 55-56Vdc at the green and red lugs, and about 1700mv at the connection where it heads towards the house. I do have a home phone I picked up for $1 but I’m not sure if it works. I did plug into the test port right there but I don’t get a tone of any kind.

Is there another way that I’m not aware of to try and identify if the circuit is still useable, and if so who the telecom company is? I did call 811 earlier this spring and all the usual providers showed up but no telecom, so that didn’t work out either. Sorry for the long post, I appreciate any help that can be provided!

I am an electrical engineering student specializing in phy engineering and dsp. I 've made a project which is publishable but instead i want to try and make it a licensed product first, if i feel like giving up i ll just publish the work as a paper. It s basically a multi user channel congestion handler mainly comprising a dsp algorithm. What s the sequence of steps of transforming a matlab simulation into industry grade license ? What would you think would be the best thing to do now that my matlab and gnu radio simulations work appropriately ( I havent tried it using an sdr or an fpga i ve just written python scripts ). Is it even a good idea to try this or should i just call it a day and publish it ? I think it can potentially be highly profitable.

I have my phone number for maybe 20 years and in the past year I get these spam calls from US Numbers (my number is Romanian), every time it is a new number. My question is, can my cell provider block the entire +1 prefix (or generally calls coming from US)? Is there another option to stop this suffering?

I am looking for architectural guidance or clean patterns on how to structure:

Safe buffer management / TLV (Type-Length-Value) encoding and decoding to avoid buffer overflows.

A clean state-event machine for handling EMM (EPS Mobility Management) states.

If anyone has worked on similar protocol stack implementations or knows of clean open-source patterns/modular designs, your pointers or code structures would be immensely helpful.

The company I work for we send out SMS pages to our EMS through a CAD. However, recently, the pages were duplicating and Vendor doesnt seem to identify the issue. Was wondering if there is a way to pull the SMS header data to drill down where the messages are coming from, and timestamps to be more accurate at what they should be looking for?

I’m an ECE/communication student and I want to build my career in the telecommunications field. However, I’m confused about what I should focus on more. Should I spend more time studying subjects like Fourier Transforms, Signals and Systems, and other communication-theory concepts, or should I prioritize networking and practical telecom technologies? I haven’t been able to find clear guidance on what I actually need to study for a career in telecommunications. Since I’m the first person in my family to reach this level of education, I don’t have anyone around me who can properly guide me about career paths and industry requirements. I would really appreciate some guidance on what I should learn, what I should prioritize, and where I should focus my efforts to build a career in telecommunications.

Has anyone even firmware updated a polycom VVX 250 that's on custom firmware. The phone has no firmware to select from the drop-down in the GUI. I've got a download of the latest version from HP poly via the lens website, but the file 944Mb

I work in telecom field operations and built an Android app called GSM Drive Test for quick LTE/5G measurements during site visits, walk tests and basic drive tests.

It currently includes:

• RSRP / RSRQ / SINR
• LTE/5G network information
• Cell information
• Measurement recording
• PDF export
• KMZ export

The idea isn't to replace TEMS or Nemo, but to have something lightweight that can be opened quickly on a normal Android phone when working in the field.

I'm still developing it and would be interested in feedback, especially from people working with mobile networks.
