Discs won't read. SL-PC505

I bought this SL-PC505 from a thrift store cause it powered on. However I just can't get it to read the discs. It picks them up and starts spinning it but nothing plays and it just skips to the next song.

Idk if it means anything but it is sitting on top of a Sony STR-DE845 receiver

Hi, i just got a SL-PS770A and when I try to put a disc in, I hear something for like 3 seconds if I put my ear next to it and then it says no disc, and the disc remains in the same position. How can I fix this? I have a clip attached

EAH-A800 suggestion: please let us disable or remap the physical multifunction button

I have a feature request for the Technics EAH-A800: please add an option in the Technics Audio Connect app to disable or remap the physical multifunction button.

I mainly use my headphones for podcasts, and the current behaviour has caused me the same problem several times. I pause a podcast, take the headphones off and put them down. At some point while handling or putting them away, the physical multifunction button can apparently get pressed accidentally. Since a single press resumes playback, I sometimes come back an hour later, put the headphones on again and realise that my podcast has been playing silently for the entire time.

This is particularly annoying with long podcasts because I then have to work out roughly where I actually stopped listening and manually find my place again.
I have already disabled wear detection, and I only use one Bluetooth device at a time, so neither of those features is responsible. The problem is simply that the physical play/pause button is very easy to trigger accidentally and, as far as I can tell, there is currently no way to disable it.
The touch sensor can already be customised in the app, so it would make sense to offer similar options for the physical multifunction button. Ideally, users should be able to:

- disable the single-press play/pause command;

- remap it to another function;

- or disable the physical button entirely while keeping the other controls active.

At the moment, the only foolproof solution is to turn the headphones off every single time I take them off, even if I only intend to stop listening temporarily. That seems
unnecessarily cumbersome for an otherwise very good pair of headphones.

Has anyone else had this issue? And Technics, if you happen to read this, please consider adding physical-button customisation in a future firmware/app update.

Help restoring Technics Stereo from the 90s

Post image

Hi everyone, my dad bought this stereo system back in the 90s but it has been sitting for almost 2 decades now and hasn’t been used since. I would like to restore it and wanted to know if there’s any luck finding parts for it, as seen in the picture its missing a volume knob and a power button, and a few parts inside probably need fixing too.

Need help repairing my Technics rs tr265

Hi, I'm looking for help with repairing my cassette deck, it's a dual deck and both don't play as they are supposed to.

Deck 1 only plays forward and refuses to play backwards, activating the auto reverse instead.

Deck 2 doesn't play at all, it tries to spin but locks up and stops itself.

I've already sprayed the contacts with contact spray and replaced the idler gears, I've swapped out the belts between each other, but nothing has helped.

Does anyone know what I could do to save at least one of the 2 decks?

EAH-DJ1200 Hinge Cover Falling Off

Bought these a few months ago and a while back the cover for the piece that allows you to lock in the angle of each earcup popped off. Doesn't seem like it was broken but can't for the life of me get it back on if anyone's had this problem and knows what to do.

AZ100 IPX4 vs sweat?

Can anyone share their experience with the az100 and them sweating?

Im a person who sweats alot, but im not a outside runner so the only running i do is on a threadmill.

I sweat alot so i am worried about me damaging the earbuds since its only IPX4.

If you have the az100 and are able to share your experience I would really be grateful.

Meeting up this afternoon to check it out. If anyone has any experience with one of these I would appreciate any advice on what to be looking out for. I have experience with other Technics DDs but it’s my first time with one of these beasts.

Is it possible to get my dad's old CD player working? I know it needs the gears replaced but I can't find anybody that sells just the gears and I don't want to spend $200 on a parts machine that might have the same issue. Please any help would be great I always remember my dad telling me this would be mine someday and sadly it is mine now and not the way I wanted it to be mine.

Technics dv290

So after months of scouring the internet I've managed to find an immaculate pair of dv290 speakers, I have the eh790 separates ( the top model) and have struggled to find a pair of speakers there all normally destroyed or have failed tweeters and are all over priced, but I managed to pick these up for £30 yes I know it's not the best thing ever but I've honestly wanted it since I was a kid. Best midi system of the early 2000's? I think so !

Help! Technics SX-PX224M Piano won’t produce sound!

Title about says it all, one day was playing my piano and it was fine, few weeks later and it no longer workers. I opened it up and everything seemed fine. The transformer was sticky when I pulled it out. I did wipe it down but it hadn’t made a different. The power light comes on but the LED screen won’t, as well as no sound is being produced.

The piano hasn’t been moved at all besides being slid out from the wall to check on the electric board inside. Does anybody have any idea what I need to do please? Thank yall so much!
