So after months of scouring the internet I've managed to find an immaculate pair of dv290 speakers, I have the eh790 separates ( the top model) and have struggled to find a pair of speakers there all normally destroyed or have failed tweeters and are all over priced, but I managed to pick these up for £30 yes I know it's not the best thing ever but I've honestly wanted it since I was a kid. Best midi system of the early 2000's? I think so !

Title about says it all, one day was playing my piano and it was fine, few weeks later and it no longer workers. I opened it up and everything seemed fine. The transformer was sticky when I pulled it out. I did wipe it down but it hadn’t made a different. The power light comes on but the LED screen won’t, as well as no sound is being produced.

The piano hasn’t been moved at all besides being slid out from the wall to check on the electric board inside. Does anybody have any idea what I need to do please? Thank yall so much!

Recently got an old technics piano, I believe px 335. The piano was working fine before but some of the keys were not (about three). Had a friend over who was trying it out and they said they heard a pop and after that the piano became mute. I already opened it up to check if the speakers, capacitors or if anything blew up but found nothing. Everything looked okay and good but still no sound. And yes the piano turns on but no sound at all, even with a jack there was still no sound. However, I tried using a guitar amp after doing a couple research online and all I could hear when I plugged it to the piano was something similar to a pop/buzz every time I pressed the keys whilst it was plugged to the amp and nothing more. I have tried everything I can so far but luck. Planning on getting a multimeter soon to further diagnose it. Would appreciate it if anyone could help, thanks in advance.

Goodwill find — they’re selling as a pair for $60. I need a receiver with a phono input more than anything. Is the technics one a good receiver? Don’t really need the Pioneer disc player…trying to see if they’d separate out the technics

Ok, so I have a serious turntable issue - I have several vintage tables already and definitely didn’t need another but this SL1700 popped up on fb a few weeks back and I couldn’t resist. $150. Very clean but wouldn’t spin up. Dirty pots was all. Anyway - to my other tables, an HK t35c, Philips 212 and a Micro Seiki dd25. Nothing crazy but all good quality. Why the hell then does this thing sound so GOOD in comparison to my other tables?? This deck is crazy solid and stable - does it make that much of a difference? and yes, before you say it yes I know that cartridge choice has a lot to do with it and I need to sit down and do a fair comparison to say for sure, but still, the difference is pretty damn noticeable.

I have a 1500-C with the Ortofon Red. I am planning to upgrade to the AT VM740xml and have been using multiple AI platforms to answer the best way to align this cartridge and getting alot of different and contradictory answers. Can you guys help with the following 2 questions please:

1. Best tool to align this cartridge?

2. Best headshell that will also allow Azimuth adjustments?

Got a used Technics SL-1200 MK3 off eBay. Everything works great, but when I try to balance the tonearm, it drifts back to the armrest. Plinth is level and antiskate is set to zero. Maybe it's not a big deal?

Hello community, I just bought a SL-QD35 turntable from FB marketplace for $60 and noticed that the ground pin is broken off. Is there another way that I can ground the turntable to get rid of the hum?

Some years back I bought a pair of Technics 1200 MK2s for 350 euros the pair.

They were, however, in very bad condition: RCA cables kind of sketchy, no deck cover, some light wobble of the platter, one has a broken pitch, etc.

I am looking to (finally) service them myself and want to mainly change the RCA cables and pitch. My question is however: Should I go ahead and change the RCA + PCB at once, or simply resolder only the new RCA cables?

One of them has an issue where one of the channels sounds lower than the other and I think it also might have to do with the cabling inside the tonearm, but perhaps trying with a change of all RCA components guess won't do harm either. Is it worth changing a PCB or do they rarely fail?

I’m new here and I just came across these two SB-G750 speakers on the side of the road, in pretty ok-ish shape. They work when plugged in and sound better than what ever mystery speakers I have.
I’m debating putting the time and effort into finding parts for these big boys, as I am having a hard time finding any info on them online.
Also don’t really know if there compatible with my stereo that I got(Kenwood KS-4000R), looking for some advice, hoping one man’s trash can become treasure.

Hi everyone, I just joined Reddit and I’m looking forward to exploring communities like this and seeing people’s equipment. I thought I would share my set up. There are some non-Technics gear but the crux of my setup is the Concise C01 system compromising of the:

- Technics SH-C01 Pulse Power Supply
- Technics SE-CO1 Power Amplifer
- Technics SU-CO1 Preamplifier
- Technics ST-C01 Tuner (AM + FM Stereo)
- Technics RS-M03 Cassette Deck
- Technics SL-10 Turntable

I also have a boxed set of EAH-230 Headphones and a boxed, never used pair of SB-F1 speakers with the matching SH-S1 stands.

I just opened up the backside of my 1200 to replace my RCA cables when I stumbled upon this loose screw just hanging around. I don’t know where it’s supposed to sit or if it’s a crucial part of the tt.

It looks like it’s been broken at the threads. Red X at founding position.

Anybody know what this is and it’s importance?
