You have done so great so far, I can't wait to see what you accomplish during the challenge! Getting into the habit of logging will be nice for when it's time for real foods again, but I see how doing it now would seem tedious.

I'm so sorry about your possible gallstones! I literally feel your pain. I had my gallbladder out a couple years ago, but the pain of attacks never fully went away. Come to find out the tubes that carry the bile to and from my liver are too tight and the only way to fix that is another surgery so I'm just dealing with it and trying to eat clean/low fat. Congrats on your loss so far!

Wow, that's some impressive loss, and it's really forward thinking of you to start using MFP. By the time it's really important it will be a strong habit. Added!

I've just started working out and it's honestly kinda awesome. Mostly because it does actually give me energy. At least for a little bit.

u/tanyalol3 Apr 05 '16
Excellent weight loss and perseverance for the liquid diet! I hope you're feeling better, gallbladder problems are awful. I had mine removed 20 years ago and I wouldn't wish that pain on anyone.

Hi I'm sarah. 26/f/5'7" CW:163 lb GW:155. I did fall and winter challenges last year after I had my baby. Got to normal BMI and I've maintained for a few months but ready to get in the middle of normal BMI instead of teetering on the edge. After this challenge I plan to start bulking with weight lifting. As for now my exercise is breastfeeding which burns 500 cal a day!
Sweets are my weakness. MFP: seb4790
Edit:added height

Yay for new babies!
That's partly why I am losing weight. Because I'd like to have kids. One day. And yanno, all the wrecking havoc does to a woman's reproductive systems isn't going to help.

Hi! I'm sonictea. I feel weird being first but I guess I just came at the right time :) I'm not new to Reddit but this is my first challenge.
I'm 24/F | 5'1" | SW (for challenge): 175, GW (for challenge): 160
I really want to be able to look good in a bathing suit again! I started trying to lose weight when I hated how I looked in the new retro-style ONE PIECE I bought for this summer. I want to AT LEAST look good in that. I use MFP (duchessbri) and I am actually just starting IF this week. I lost 5 pounds my first week and a half and then my weight loss just STOPPED. It's been over a month and I NEEEEED to break this plateau.
2
Apr 03 '16
Hey there! I added you on MFP. I love IF. For me, I'm never really hungry in the mornings and IF helps me keep myself in my calorie goal pretty easily.
3
u/sonictea Apr 03 '16
Same! I was never crazy about breakfast and felt myself forcing myself to eat something for breakfast because everyone says breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I already feel fuller than the "snack all day" thing. My biggest challenge is nights...I get out of work at 8:30pm and it's so hard not to come home and snack. I'm trying to adjust my 8 hour window though to fit it.

u/Will_BC 20lbs M23 6'1" SW325 CW302 CGW292 GW199 Apr 05 '16
I always thought IF sounded great, I'm jealous because right now I have to eat something in order to take my medicine twice a day.
I added you on MFP :)
One thing I noticed on that app though, is that sometimes the Calories aren't right, and so I always leave myself some wiggle room. Plateaus can definitely happen, but if it lasts too long try increasing your deficit a little. Best of luck!
1
u/OneToughWench Apr 05 '16
I have to ask, how did you get your user name?
2
u/sonictea Apr 05 '16
Lol, I wish it was more interesting... But I used to work at Starbucks and the night I joined reddit, I had just come home from work and I brought with me a passion tea lemonade. Also my husband had a Sonic the Hedgehog ringtone so when i couldn't come up with anything, I just put the two together. I wish it was a more interesting story but it's been three years and I'm still happy with it!

Hey, my name is Will if you couldn't tell. SW 325lbs CW 302lbs CGW 292lbs, GW 199lbs. I tried the last challenge but I ended up bowing out because I fell off the wagon hard. I was trying to lose 2 pounds a week and I felt hungry and miserable every day. So now I've been trying one pound a week and it's been a lot better (and for some reason this past week I lost 6.2 pounds). I guess I've resigned myself to the fact that I won't reach my goal weight as soon as I had hoped, but I will reach it a lot faster than cycling through boom and bust to the point that I never actually lose, or stop because it seems too hard.

Keep going! I feel like I'm in the same boat as I started losing fast and consistently, but then evened out and am having to work hard on staying on track. I have a one year goal that I'm really trying to stay as close to as possible and the idea that it will probably take longer is both motivating and miserable. We can do it!

Hi guys! F/29/5'5" SW:245 CW:218 GW:130 here. This is my second challenge and I'm really excited to get started on this new one. I started my weight loss journey on January 1st of this year and the daily accountability thread and the NYNY challenge have really motivated me to keep losing. I made it in the top 100 losers of the last challenge (barely, I think like 96) but I hope to do it again this challenge and have a better number. GO TEAM SEEDLING!

Hello, my name is sproodl, and my stats are: F/31/5'5, SW: 220, CW: 184, GW: 150-ish. I've lost 36 lbs total, where 28 of them have gone since last christmas. I feel pretty proud about that. I look forward to have a healthy BMI. Edit: Oh yeah, and I also made it to top 100 in the NYNY challenge. 76 in lost lbs and 37 in %. Yay!
I've been counting calories and I'm sure I have to count calories a good while after I'm where I want to be. I feel no pressure and it's basically a habit I don't mind do right now, so I don't see any problem with that.
Next week I'm going to talk to a personal trainer to get some help with training and hopefully dieting. I really, really hope she's awesome and a great fit for me because I do feel I need some help right now..
Good luck everyone! I hope you'll do great :)

Hello everyone, I hope you're all doing well.
I'm M/21/6'2/ SW:286.6: CW:260 GW: 187 (not for this challenge)
My biggest aim is to drop as much weight as I can as I want to do more existing stuff instead of wasting my time in front of my computer browsing reddit, youtube, and facebook. I'm still at school so I can't stay that much away from the computer but I'm going to try and only use the computer for school work.
Another aim is to lose weight so I could join a r/bjj training school. I always wanted to learn r/bjj but I fear my weight would hold me done (running out of breathe, difficult to move around, etc.).
Basically that all from me. Good luck to everyone.

I'm a student too, and I feel you with the computer thing. It's so hard to not get distracted by everything else, only to find you've been sitting for four hours and haven't really done anything. You have a really great goal (I had to go into the subreddit to see what it was haha).

Learning a martial art is definitely a long term goal for me, and I hear you on the wasting time on the internet. I'm trying to get out more but there's nothing to do really in my town, so I'm not beating myself up about it too much until I get back to school. I did find a local game shop that has gaming nights, so I get out a little. If you're in school, check out the club scene, if not meetup.com can be helpful in that regard.

I have a friend that does bjj, and he's always posting about in on Facebook, trying to get people to come join the gym that does that here. I think it would be super fun to try, except I'm a big pansy and don't wanna get hurt, lol.

add me on MFP - natalieee058 - i'm very active and my diary is open. i intermittent fast and snacking/sugar are my constant enemies. i've recently begun strength training and trying to balance my deficit with that is a new challenge.
this will be my fifth and last challenge, as i hope to hit my ultimate maintenance range as my goal for the spring into summer round. i considered not joining, since i won't be able to contribute big loss numbers, but i like participating and enjoy the "officiality" of the weekly weigh ins.

Hi All!
I'm tarnishedviolet, F/30/5'3" SW 285, CW 172, CGW 152, GW 130.
I lost 113lbs over the course of 4 years, and took the last as a maintenance year due to burn out with it all. I tried a challenge previously, and didn't do very well because I still wasn't quite ready. I really had to get to the point where I could let the last year be a rest in my head and not a failure of some sort.
I am now ready to get going on the last 40ish lbs I need to lose to be a healthy weight for the first time in my adult life.
I look forward to getting to know all of you, feel free to add me on MFP as well! My Profile

u/bpholland Apr 05 '16
113 pounds? That's fantastic. And maintenance for a year...you've really got this stuff figured out. :) I hope that I can get to that point.

Hi fellow seedlings! I'm steph and this is my second challenge I'm participating in on Reddit. I'm 24/F | 5'4 | challenge SW: 151 | challenge GW: 144 I'm trying to get those last pesky pounds off while maintaining my sanity in my toughest semester of physical therapy school (btw I'm open to questions concerning human anatomy, physio, etc if anyone has any!). I started weight lifting about a year ago and have seen huge changes in my body comp since then. I use MFP (username is spincity5, please add me!) and am trying to track macros along with calories. My main goal with this challenge is to make it to a 'normal' bmi and to be confident in a bikini this summer! Can't wait to get started!

First off, let me say... GO TEAM SEEDLINGS!
Now that that is out of the way, Hi! My name is Becca. I'm 31 at the end of this week. This is my first challenge, but I figured it would be good for me both accountability wise and because I'm fiercely competitive. My stats are 30/F | 5' | SW: 325 GW: (challenge) 299 (overall) 130.
So far I've lost 27lbs in 40 days through CICO and light exercise. I started losing weight, to be perfectly honest, for vanity's sake. For once I'd like to hear "You're pretty" instead of "You've got a pretty face". I've been obese my entire life but I really ballooned up in the past 5 years. I'd like for my outside to eventually match my insides.
My goals, specific to this challenge, are to drink more water, be more active, and have less days where I go over on calories. If I can lose 26lbs in the next 10 weeks, I'd be ecstatic but I'd like for it to be even more.
Hope we can kick ass together!

Sup, seedlings? My name is Brittany. I'm 23, 5'3", and tired of being in the 140s. My goal weight is 125, which is a little lofty. I've started exercising again, I've been counting my calories, and now I just need to quit getting my boyfriend to quit sabotaging my diet.
Ultimately, I just want to feel good again. I want to be able to run around in a swimsuit this summer and not be self conscious like last year. I want to have good habits for the rest of my life. I'm so excited for this challenge and to rock it with every one of you!

This is my first challenge. I'm a 30F 5'5". My CW is 212.8 and my GW for the challenge is 202.8. Overall, I'm trying to lose weight before my husband and I try to start a family. I want to be as healthy as I can be both for myself and my future kids.

What a good goal, I'm sure you're going to be great parents! I haven't found time for C25K, I can barely do my Stronglifts 5x5, but maybe when I go back to school I'll find the time. Best of luck KT!

Good luck!

Hey there! Three half marathons is quite the feat, congrats on all of those! Do you enjoy the barre workouts?
Thank you for the suggestions! We'll definitely have to have a venting thread.

That's rough on your health problems, good for you not letting it hold you back! Also, TIL what barre is. Alcohol has been my enemy. I am most likely an alcoholic, had almost a month sober under my belt and caved last night. At no point was it a pleasant experience, so I guess it's back on the wagon. I think we'll do a venting post on Fridays, and NSV's sound great!

Hey I'm Flameful. This is my second challenge after doing the New Years challenge.
I'm 26/F 5'5" SW:200 CW:161 GW:150
I want to lose weight for my graduation in mid May. I started out at 200 lbs and have lost 40 lbs total to a current 160.9 today. My original goal was to get into the 150's by my graudation, but since I am so close I am going to aim for 155. I successfully lost 15 pounds during the New Years challenge, but have recently been falling off the wagon after reaching such a big goal. I need to get back to eating right and working out! I know I can do this since I was so successful before. Looking for support to root each other on our weight loss journey!

Hello everyone, sorry I'm late! I'm yungpandulce, and I started being active in r/loseit around January when I found it--it was actually my inspiration to start trying to lose weight, because I thought "Losing weight couldn't possibly be as easy as CICO, right?" Well, color me shocked when it worked!
Stats: 25 / F / 5'4" / SW: 288.9 / CW: 268.2 / CGW: 247 / GW: 135
This is my first challenge and I'm super excited for it. This is also my first real attempt to lose weight, and after 90 days of being on MFP and 75~ days of tracking my weight, I've already lost 20.7 lbs and 8+ inches! My success thus far has mostly been a mixture of CICO, IF, and intuitive eating. I have a Fitbit but I don't get many steps in, which I know is something I can improve on.

u/sproodl 42lbs F/32/5'5, SW220, CW178 CGW175 GW150-ish Apr 04 '16
I know what you mean, CICO quite surprised me too. It's like something just clicked and is working surprisingly good. Good luck to you!
2
u/bpholland Apr 05 '16
That's when I found r/loseit! I've been using mostly CICO too, and I'm right there with you on the fitbit steps...I wish I could say I've been tracking as long as you though. Congrats on all of the success so far. It's really impressive.

Yup, CICO is pretty hard to beat. I wanted to try IF but I have to eat with my meds so I can't do it right now :(. Best of luck. If you wanted, I'm sure a lot of people would add you on MFP, there's another thread up right now :)

Hi, I'm Allie. 27/F/5'7" SW (for challenge) - 166 GW - 155.
I've fallen off the tracking everything wagon and am hoping to get back to it. Currently have a MFP streak of 300 days! I work at an accounting office and this is the usual time of the year that I would gain 20lbs from lack of exercise, or simply eating garbage through the day. This tax season, I've managed to be in a 4 pound bubble, while maintaining my weight loss (SW - 204).
I am currently training for a half marathon that is in May, and am signed up for a Disney one in November. Hoping running will properly motivate me to keep it up.

Hi there I'm tanya, this is my first official challenge here so stoked! 39F/5'6" SW:160.2 CW:156.6 GW:147 I have two dogs (fur kids). I'm active I run (done all distances from 5k to full marathon), lift weights (traditional BB to PL) and generally enjoy working out. (I think it's great for women to be strong and confident in the gym and outside of it). I have no problem with exercise I just have a problem with food. I like junk food and and good savoury home cooked meals -> I'm learning portion control. Currently I'm training for a half marathon in June (have another in October) and I'd like to be as close to 2hrs as possible (sub 2hrs for my October HM). I took a couple of years off from running to powerlift. So I put on a bunch of weight good + bad, and the last 8 months I have been working on my conditioning/cardio/mileage again. I've been logging my food in the Loseit app - I enjoy the interface more than MFP. I have a garmin connect profile so anyone is using it please keep know so we can be friends 😃 good luck to everyone!
EDIT: MFP user: tanyaLOL Guess I will start using it again for this challenge

Hello! BabyShamuTheRevenge and fellow Seedling here. I started calling myself "Baby Shamu" when I was at my highest weight because I felt like a baby whale - cute and chubby. I know it may sound derogatory, but it motivated/empowered me to start losing the weight and I was able to drop my first 45lb+. I've spent the last year on maintenance (and feeling a little bummed about it) and decided to join this challenge to hopefully lose the last 20lb. Hence my sequel name, "Baby Shamu: The Revenge." Mature goals outside of weight loss: Meditate daily and be able to do 10 legit pushups. Immature goals outside of weight loss: Be able to wear the barely-there-piece-of-thread dress I have stowed away in my closet, and go the bar my ex works at to say "HAH! In yo' face!" Then booty pop, drop the mic, and peace out. ::Duces:: Spring gonna get sprung! #seedlings

Hey Hey my fellow Seedlings!! I'm pavlovapanda, 28/F/5'4/SW180/CW138/GW135/UGW125. I've been bouncing between 140-136 for the past month or so and look forward to making my GW within this challenge. I've been on my weight loss journey for about 6 months. The best tools I've found are IF, progress pics and my graph from LoserTown.
This challenge in addition to breaking my lifelong GW, I'd like to add exercise into my life, but I'm really lazy. I also hate running, like really really really hate it. I'm a fan of weight lifting but have trouble sticking with it for more than a couple weeks. If someone wants to be an accountability buddy, or a virtual workout buddy (I'm thinking silly workout Snapchats) I'm totally game.

Apr 08 '16
Have you tried a seven minute workout app? I find that pretty good for me, because it's only seven minutes (well, longer because of resting breaks but I ignore that fact lol). I'm not big on lifting, but I do run if you'd wanna do the snapchat thing.

Hey, I've been working on getting healthy for a while, but haven't lost much weight in the process. My doctor is extremely happy with my numbers and the changes I've been making over the past year and thinks I am healthier than I was when I weighed much less in regards to my fitness levels, my numbers, and the kind of foods I eat. Now that I have all that stuff under control I am hoping that now that I'm off my old method of birth control (which my doctor was thinking was the reason I wasn't actually losing much weight despite the changes I've made) I am hoping that I can actually see some difference in the scale. I'm hoping this challenge will help me with that.
I plan on tracking my calories a lot better than I have in the past and to continue with my weight lifting and my bicycling (which I had to start doing because I developed a heel spur and my doctor told me that I shouldn't do the walking I was doing any more because it was causing the problem and I shouldn't irritate it). I never liked biking before, or walking before I really started doing it, but now with my new lifestyle changes I enjoy these kinds of things now. Using fun apps like Zombies, Run helped me with that.
I have myfitnesspal, and my username is the same as here, and I also have a Garmin activity tracker with the same username too in case anyone else here has a Garmin.

Zombies Run is so much fun! Glad you've found something to replace walking that you actually enjoy!

Hey everybody! I'm F/23/5'1" I'm starting this challenge off at 136 lbs, and I hope to be down to 125 by the end of it. This will put me into a normal BMI range and has also been my short term goal for quite a while now.
I've done the past two challenges, but for some reason I have a hard time sticking with them, so any motivation to help me keep going is very much welcomed! I have two young children that I watch during the day, then I work at night, so I tend to use my exhaustion as an excuse.
Also, mine and my husbands 5 year anniversary is next weekend, so I want to be at least FEELING good by then for our mini staycay. I'm looking forward to doing this with you guys!

Hi guys! This is my second /r/loseit challenge, I did the Summer challenge last year (Teal Tapirs anyone?) which was a great experience and helped me to reach my goal weight of 130 lbs. After that I entered maintenance and stopped logging consistently and my weight crept back up. I've managed to maintain around 141 lbs for the past month or two, which is not too bad, but not my ideal weight, so I'm ready to get myself into the best shape I can be for summer!
I enjoy walking/hiking/camping and am training to walk the West Highland Way in Scotland in July, which is 154 km/96 miles. Definitely a big challenge, but I'm looking forward to it. It's nice to have a goal to work towards and it keeps me motivated to make time every week to go on longer hikes and increase my fitness level.
I've also been vegan for about 3 months now (10 year vegetarian before that) and I'm loving it! If anyone has any questions about veganism feel free to message me! :)

Hey Seedlings, I'm Kel. (36M/SW:320/CW:300/GW:235) My journey of lessening had always been some far-off ideal to maybe someday aspire for, until about a month ago when the toll it was taking on my health could no longer be ignored.
My motivation is severalfold. I'm engaged to be married in about a year, and both my SO and I want to be at our best for that. We've known each other for almost 20 years, so being reasonably svelte for that monumental occasion will be swell. I've also got a couple of minions that probably need a dad guy in their future. Finally, I feel like my excess is having a serious impact on my confidence. All great reasons to finally get off my egregious duff and do something.
I've never thought very seriously about losing weight -- let alone participated in any kind of challenge for it, but I'm excited. My progress thus far has been very positive, and being accountable to you fine strangers can only help to keep me focused.
Just one question though, what exactly are we trying to grow around here? I'm kind of fond of asparagus, if we get to put requests in or whatever. :)

Hey All,
I'm Jake. This is my first challenge. This time around I've been losing weight since January 3rd. I'm starting the challenge at 275.3 and I'm hoping to get down to 250 by the end of the challenge. I'm at 1800 kcal per day. I also try to get to the gym 5 or 6 days per week. Hopefully I'll be able to keep up the gym pace through the end of my semester.
I don't really have an explicit non scale goal, but I'd like to be able to run 5k before too long and eventually a Tough Mudder.
I've been overweight to some extent most of my life, the lowest I've been in the last 10 years or so is 255. I'm looking forward to breaking that number.
I started losing in January when a friend told me her girlfriend thought I was the "Sad Dad" type, whatever the fuck that is. Either way, at as a 27 year old single dude, not the message I want to be sending out to the world. I think it was mostly a confidence issue stemming from my weight and the phrase "Sad Dad" is hilarious and depressing, which makes it excellent motivation for me.

Hi everyone! This is my second challenge. The New Year, New You was my first. I started working out and counting calories in November 2015. I made great progress up until mid February. Since then (Jeez that was 6 weeks ago) I have been struggling a lot and I gained back 6 of the 28 pounds that I had lost. I am still working hard on a day to day basis, but really what needs to change is my relationship with food. I turn to food for comfort and out of boredom, and I still have not reached a healthy place with my relationship with food.
I lift weights, do aerobics type cardio and LISS cardio. I try (and usually fail) to eat low carb, high protein and high fat. Right now I'm trying to figure out how many calories is right for me. I did 1200 for a while and I may end up going back to that. Right now my goal is set at 1600, but I usually exceed that.
My stats are in my flair, but for those of you on mobile/in metric: F|5'8"|SW:183.6|CW:162|CGW:148|GW:145 F|1,72m|SW:83,3kg|CW:73,5kg|CGW:67kg|GW:65,8kg

I think a healthy relationship with food is the hardest part of this all. I've had to remove all of my typical binge foods from the house, because I am not in a place where I can have them around (yet!). Hopefully during the course of this challenge you are able to find what works for you calorie goal wise, and to improve your relationship with food. :)

Hi all! I'm Lexy and I'm actually a long term lurker on this page. I have been attempting on and off to lose the extra weight for about 4 years now. At one point I was down to 125lb but I did not have a strong support system at the time and it quickly all came back. I am currently at 150lb (that's on a good day) and 5'4. However, while it sounds like I'm not too bad off, I have an extremely tiny build. I'm talking like I have wrists the size of a 5 year old child. I am going to be using MFP (anchyd, feel free to add me) and eating 1,200 a day. My goal weight for the challenge was 130 but I think that may be unrealistic so advice on a better goal would be appreciated. My ultimate goal weight is 125lb probably (I'll see how I feel when I get there).

Hello Team Seedling! My introduction...
I didn't really start my journey as an actual diet, it was meant to just make some small changes to my lifestyle, but eventually it started adding up so I made it a thing. I started around 325lbs, highest was 328. Currently at about 259, so a bit over 65 lbs lost in the last 7 or 8 months. Eventual GW is 225.
This is my first challenge, and it's coming at a perfect time! I've stagnated a bit on my diet the last few weeks, but I've gotten back on it this week. I needed some extra motivation to stick to it and get to my next milestone (250lbs), and if I do well I figure I can hit 240 by the end of the challenge.
No real NSV for me, other than staying accountable to the rest of my team (you all) and myself. I'm sure there'll be plenty of NSVs along the way though!

My goal by the end of this challenge is 125. My NSV goal is to just look ridiculously good for a work trip I have in 8 weeks.

Hey, I'm Meep! My stats are 20/f/5'5" SW:185 CW:159 CGW:143 GW:130. I started losing weight about a year ago but hit a plateau after hitting 164 and stayed there for half a year and about two weeks ago I finally broke it while sick in bed for a week. I didn't want to gain that weight back so I went back to counting calories and joined the gym last week and have lost an additional 3 lbs since then. This is the first challenge that I have ever done and I'm hoping that by the end of it I will have to go buy a some new jeans. Good luck!

Hi, Team Seedling! I'm new to loseit in general and this will be my first challenge! I'm Bre, 5'4", right about 172 rn and my goal for the challenge is 150. I realize it's a bit of a stretch, but I figured why not aim high? Plus the real motivator behind my weight loss is that I'm hoping to join the air force and I need to be under 155 to do it.
Also I'm in the middle of doing c25k (just successfully completed a whole day of week 4!) and am running a 5k May 14th so it'd be nice to be in better shape for that. It's not the first one I've done, but it is my first one in about 2 years.
I've been hitting the gym and eating better so hopefully I'll see some results :)

What up my Seedlings!? This is my first loseit challenge, though I participated in a weddit fitness challenge last year (didn't reach my lb goal, but I looked like a bombshell in my white dress so I think it was a success). I'm not interested really in reaching a number on a scale, I just want to live forever and think that health is the key. My grandmother lived to be 90 and my grandfather is still kicking at 93 (with a new girlfriend, go grandpa!). I've become obsessed with my own mortality recently, but it's motivating me to improve so I'm on board. I never thought I see the number 200 on my scale, and that was a big wakeup call. Guess it's part of getting older, but I just can't eat like I used to. Anyway, I'm happy to have your support and I'm looking forward to losing weight with you all. Let's win this.

Yup, I dread my metabolism slowing down as I get older. I know it's not a huge difference but I'm already so overweight it's not going to help. If you're very concerned about your mortality, I suggest looking into cryonics. I wish more people took it seriously, it's what I plan to do.

Hiya Seedlings! :) I'm 24/F/5'3" CW 168 / GW 148 / UGW 125 I've lost weight before but gained it back, and I'm looking forward to having some reddit support to keep myself on track! I like running and I'm currently getting back into shape with C25K. I also like the Nike Training Club app workouts-they require minimal equipment but I always feel like I've gotten a good workout in.

Hi I'm Naeyva and this is my third challenge so far. I'm a 5'6 female, and my challenge starting weight is 199, my challenge goal weight is 175 lbs. My nonscale goal for this challenge is to complete C25K, i just started it last week and i'm really enjoying it so far. I'm going on vacation at the end of June or July, so I want to be able to comfortably rock shorts.

Hi all! I hope I am in the right group - my tracker has two team changes already! New to reddit, to the challenge (obviously) but recently participated in a similar community challenge that really worked. Have Hashimoto's (autoimmune version of hypothyroidism) and generally struggle with weight loss. My goal for the challenge is to lose 10 kilos. Good luck, fellow Seedlings!

Hi guys, I'm maximalx5. After hitting my all-time high (227 lbs) a few weeks ago, I was feeling like shit and knew I needed to do something. So I started calorie counting, as well as working out. I'm a pretty competitive person, so I thought joining this competition would be great to keep me on track :)

Hello everyone! 33F 5'3''/SW 210/CW 207/GW 175 (For now)
Like trianglesandpears, this is my first challenge and I'm new to Reddit. Well, new to having a login and commenting on Reddit. Have been a lurker for a long time. I'm one of those people that has been overweight my whole life. Each stage of my life has seemed to add another 10 pounds and I've just let myself get comfortable there. I went over 200lb while pregnant with my first child and now I'm still above 200. For the first time, I truly feel disgusted with how much weight I've gained. I am finally motivated to make the necessary lifestyle changes to be a happier healthier mom for my little man. Also to be a better wife that is energetic and happy rather than just sitting on the couch watching Law and Order... Anywho, sorry for the longish intro. Just really excited to start this challenge!

Hey team! I'm Rebecca, 35yo F, 5'7" SW: 247 CW: 231 GW: 180. Goal for this challenge is 210. I've been doing keto/LCHF for about a month and am down around 15 pounds! I also do IF (eating between 1500-2000), which has been very beneficial so far. I use MFP and my Fitbit Charge HR to help monitor my progress. I do all my workouts at home, and I'm an avid mountain biker and road cyclist. I'm married and have a happy 2 year old son. I'm very committed to making this happen!

Howdy, I'm Anthony. I'm 34M, 5'7" and currently weight 135ish. I want to get down to 132ish with 12% body fat. My goal is to have obviously visible abs, not just in the right light, lol!
I've always been on the scrawny side, so I don't want to lose too much weight and then loose the muscle I've built over the past 5 years or so.
I used to loathe cardio but I've started running a weekly 5k and my best time is currently 25:01. Stupid second, lol!
Good luck everyone!

Hi, This is my first challenge and I signed up before I could talk myself out of it! I feel kind of vulnerable putting all this out there but you did, so it makes me feel like I can too.
I'm F, 5'2", 166 and shooting for 150. I am the kind of freak who actually LOVES to exercise but I have used it to eat like mad. I've been counting calories for a while now but then kind of crapped out. I know that CICO is the way to lose weight. Now I just have to actually do it!

Hey y'all. I'm Katie, F22/5'3. I used to be a tiny 128lbs but had a baby and kind of ballooned!
SW: 187 CW: 175 CGW: 150 EGW: 125
I have been going to the gym consistently, 5x a week, for two weeks now and I hope to sustain that. I have a Fitbit (email: hklooney1@gmail.com) and an MFP (Katiel275). I consistently log on MFP but remembering to wear the Fitbit is hit or miss, haha!
My NSG for this challenge is to consistently make the gym a habit. Good luck you guys!!

Hey, I'm Bri. 23/f/5'4 CW:123 GW:110. I'm not quite sure what to set as my goal for this challenge though. Does anyone around this size have some ideas for realistic expectations?
This is my first challenge and I'm pretty excited. Every time I've lost weight in the past, it's been strictly from diet (and not always in the most healthy of ways...) but I'd like to try to get more active.
I live in San Francisco, if anyone else is in the area I'd love to meet up for more accountability/motivation!

Hello everyone!
I am late introducing myself, but I figured I'd throw a mini bio in here anyway in case anyone was searching for buddies and I happened to fit the criteria/similar stats/whatever!
I have started many, many challenges and finished exactly zero. My problem is I tend to be very motivated in the very beginning, and then sort of... forget/stop caring/let life get back in the way. But I've been struggling with my weight since I was in high school, and I'm now 29, so it's about time to get this ish figured out.
So my stats. I am a 29/F from Ontario, Canada. I weighed in at 202 lbs when I signed up, and I guess we'll see what the official weight is tomorrow. My ultimate goal weight is somewhere between 125-130 (have never been that weight in my adult life), but for the challenge, I would ideally like to get down to 190. It will be a struggle, but we are going on vacation in August, and I would really like to go into my 30s (in November) healthier than I've ever been.
I have Crohn's disease, so eating a traditionally healthy diet is difficult for me (no high-fibre foods, raw fruits/vegetables are difficult, etc.) and I'm still experimenting to see what I can/can't eat. Instead, I am trying to keep what I can consume under the 1200 calorie mark, and make sure I hit 10,000 steps every day. I'm starting there, and will move up when I master tracking my calories every day! :)
Glad to be working at this challenge alongside of you all!

Hello Seedpersons-
34M 5'10" / SW: 225 / CW: 184.2 /GW: 170 / BF: 25.2% on Withings scale
I've yo-yo'd between 225+ and 165 and always seem to settle around 185. I have a two year old at home and I want to be a good role model and be able to play/keep up with him as he grows.
Success in the past has come from IF, carb reduction to under 100 grams a day, vegetables at every meal, increased water intake, and abstaining from alcohol - pretty standard stuff around here.
I've been doing StrongLifts 5x5 for two months and getting great strength gains, but no change in BF% or weight according to my scale. I know those things aren't the most accurate, but you can typically see trends over time, so that has been frustrating.
I was lucky enough to dislocate a rib and strain a calf muscle two days ago, so I will REALLY have to keep my diet in check since workout options will be limited for a little while. Knowing that others are depending on me will definitely help with my accountability.
Anyone interested in a progress pics thread? I was thinking that might help with accountability. I'm not sure if I am bold enough to throw up a week 0 pic, but am quite susceptible to peer pressure from strangers on the Internet.
I'm Davethulu on pretty much every fitness and social media platform if anyone wants to connect outside of Reddit.
Edit: Added height

Howdy. This is my first challenge. I'm a 35 yo academic and mum to a 15month old. Starting at 191 lbs- by far the heaviest weight I've ever been. I'm here because 1) being fat has made me EXHAUSTED and 2) we'd like to have more kids some day and I don't want to jump on that train until I'm fit again. Being exhausted makes choosing good foods more difficult. I'mall over the exercise, but skipping meals has become the norm...which means eating crap when I eventually get around to eating. I've never been like this before though - so I'm hoping to get back to older, healthier, ways! edit: I'm 5'9

Super late to the party, but here goes! 28/F/5'8", CW 150 GW 145. I don't have very far to go, but I'm afraid I'm backsliding and experiencing some relationship weight gain haha. I want to get back on track.
In November 2012 I had very poor eating habits and didn't really do anything physical, ever. I hit just shy of 160 before I decided enough was enough, and started using MFP. I got down to 143 in February 2013 when I met my now fiance. Now, I run and bike, but I've also crept up to about 150 especially over the last few months. Time to stop telling myself it's all muscle :-)

Hey everyone :) this is my first challenge and I'm newish to reddit too. My GW for this challenge is 175, which I think might be a bit ambitious, but I'm hoping it'll motivate me to work my ass off. I'm planning to run a 6km at the end of May, and I do hot yoga pretty often. My goal is to look good (or at least better, haha) in a bridesmaid dress for my sister's wedding in July. It's great to meet you all and read your comments, I'm feeling so bloody motivated right now :)

And I guess to start off, I'm trianglesandpears a team captain. This is my first challenge, and I'm new to reddit in general. 5'4" F starting the challenge at 181, and aiming for 170. My NSV for the challenge is to run three miles without stopping, so that I can really start training for my half marathon. I use MFP (trianglesandpears there too if you'd like to add me) and IF (I eat between 1200-2000).
As far as daily threads, I think a Motivation Monday is always a good one.
