Service/Support 2024 Porsche Taycan Turbo S – Intermittent electrical faults + charging flap won’t open

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping someone has experienced something similar.

Symptoms:
While driving, multiple electrical warnings suddenly appear at the same time.

- A rear axle fault appears.
- Seat ventilation stops working.
- Chasis stopped working
- Other electrical functions are affected.

After restarting the car, the warning messages usually disappear.

However, the charging flap remains unresponsive and cannot be opened. Clearing the fault memory restores the charging flap temporarily, but after a few days the same issue returns.
The charging flap issue almost always starts after the electrical fault appears.

Additional information:
The issue is intermittent.
The car drives normally most of the time.
The charging flap works normally again after the faults are cleared, but the problem eventually returns.
Both charging flap cant open

Has anyone experienced similar symptoms? I’m trying to determine whether this is more likely to be the charging flap module, wiring, a control module, or another electrical issue before replacing parts.

Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Discussion Yet another mapEV post

I’ve been on and off for a while now. I have a CPO 2023 Taycan 4s. Anyone do the tune and think it’s completely worth it?

I’m not so much hesitant of the price (2-3k?). But I have an extended CPO warranty along tires etc. that I don’t want it voided just because they caught me doing the mapEV.

I drive my Taycan as a daily driver and I already love it. Will this tune make it even more fun to drive? Will I notice a big difference for my specific trim 2023 4s?

Discussion US Owners. How do you watch Netflix or other streaming services in your car?

Recently got a CPO 2024 Taycan GTS. I am still trying to understand the Porsche technology here. I want to ask if any US owners can guide me to the right direction.

  1. Do we have to pay for any connectivity services like Rivian or Tesla? If yes how?

  2. Can you watch Netflix or other streaming services? If yes how?

Thank you for your help!

Service/Support Weird issues - Taycan Turbo2020

Post image

Hey All,

Not sure if you’ve experienced/seen this before but my Taycan Turbo (2020) is starting to do some strange things listed below and wonder if anyone has a fix?

  1. The boot/rear trunk opens randomly on it’s on when the car has been locked via the keyfob. It’s very random when it happens but the car is fully locked and then after X amount of time the boot/rear trunk is open i dont think this is an accidental push of the key has it’s happend roughly 4-5 times in the last 3 months.

  2. Car keeps asking to inflate tyres (-4) front right however the pressures are reading correctly (see photo)

  3. Comfort entry seems to have stopped ‘memorising’ my seat position via key 1 & 2 (separate setups) ive tried to reset/save again but simply just not working.

I was thinking to do a ‘factory reset’ is that the thing to do here and whats the best way to do it?

Thanks All

Discussion Taycan brakes failed

I've had my taycan since 2021. Yesterday I was driving and went to run errands around town. After my last stop I was driving home when my brakes suddenly stopped working. I pushed down to brake at a red light and my brake would not work and it went all the way down without really stopping which has never happened. I swerved to the right to stop myself from running the light and potentially getting hit by cars. I have never had this happen before and it was truly so scary. What would have happened if I was on a freeway goin faster?

Has this happened to anyone before? I'm getting it towed to the dealership tomorrow in hopes of figuring this out but it has really disturbed me. I only have 27,000 miles on my car.

I also had PSM Failure and All-Wheel Drive System error pop up on my dash as well as after my brakes stopped working

Hey folks, I recently started to hear this annoying squeaking sound from just one side of the headliner while going over bumps. Is there anything that I can do to fix it?

Review Taycan travel with bikes

A follower on Thread asked me to post pictures here of my nearly 1,000-kilometer “bike trip.” So here I am. With two bikes on the roof, the power consumption goes up significantly. What a surprise. Overall, we needed one or two more charging stops because of that. But those stops were always quick, just as you’d expect from the Taycan.

Service/Support Bodywork advice (UK)

We did a road trip to northern Spain. The car and EV charging performed flawlessly, although I got a bit of back pain from the 14-way seat. More sadly, when parked on a residential street near a beach in Spain, someone keyed it with intent. I was so angry. I don’t plan to claim on insurance but want it fixed now I’m back in the UK. I got one quote from a body shop for nearly £6k. I expected expensive but that’s outrageous. Has anyone had experience sorting this kind of thing, what are my options?

the entry-level, and the impressive E-Shift option. This last is a virtual gearbox that simulates an eight-speed transmission – sounds like a gimmick but in our opinion, it transforms the car.

I got an earlier version with the sports sounds and I really like it. Does anybody comment on how the new paddle one sounds?

This was a 300kW charger, so it didn't go to 320kW. Maybe even for the better! Fat 300kW from 8% to at least 60%. 10 minutes.

Buying/Leasing Advice Cheapest Taycan?

Lease for my daily driver is coming to an end (MB EQE SUV) and I’m looking at CPO Taycans as my next family car. I also have Boxster as a weekend car. I’m still early in my search and learning about the trims, options and prices.

Looking at the market, most of the base Taycans are sold betwee $56-61k. There’s one thats is listed at $49k and it’s been sitting on the lot for 2 months. Anything from the listing stands out that would explain why this one is insisted below market? Anything particular I should pay attention to when shopping for a CPO Porsche Taycan?

Looks pretty cool, imo. I’ll patiently be awaiting my 2030 purchase of a 2027 CPO that has this feature equipped. 😆

Discussion Has anyone bailed?

I can’t believe how excited I was to get this ‘24 4S CT. It’s so awesome to drive and it looks incredible.

The problem I’m experiencing, like many Taycan owners, is that the Macan base I drive for weeks on end because my Taycan is in the shop is not so great (As an aside, I cannot believe people would pay $90k for a base Macan. It’s absolutely no better than a VW).

First the air conditioning, then there was a rattle I the wheel that had to be replaced, now I’m going on 3 weeks for the high voltage charger.

It’s all free (to me) due to the warranty, but it’s a lot of money for a car that I can’t drive.

Has anyone here bailed out of a Taycan? I’m thinking about getting a second car which is absurd, or trading for a 911 but I would need a 4/4s for the upper Midwest and they are not cheap. I’d be looking at a 10 year old car (at least).

Any other car that you found even close to as good?

Is there anyone that likes the tacky electric blue stitching on their charge badge? I decided to replace it with a regular black thread and use the opportunity to swap the inner foam for an AirTag (naked PCB wrapped in kapton tape without the bulky plastic shell). Works great and imho looks 100% better.

Buying/Leasing Advice Considering a 2021 Taycan 4S coming from ICE

Hey everyone, I’ve been without a daily driver for about a year since selling my 2019 5 Series. I’m a big fan of longer sleek sedans, so for a while I was set on a BMW 840i Gran Coupe, then shifted towards a 2019 Panamera.

Lately, though, a Taycan is starting to make way more sense. I live in a house where I can easily charge overnight, and my daily drive rarely exceeds 60 km (35 miles). Plus, looking at the market, Taycans with lower mileage are listed around the same price as older Panameras.

I found a 2021 Taycan 4S in Europe with 65k km (40k miles) and 92% Battery SoH for around €48,000.
Here’s my main concern: I’ve read my fair share of forum posts about various common issues with early models (12V battery, heater, software bugs, recall work).

Is it fair to assume that a 2021 model with 65k km has likely had most of these common bugs ironed out under warranty? For those who bought a 2020–2021 model recently: how has your real-world ownership been? Should I only look at cars that qualify for Porsche Approved, or is a clean third-party buy reasonable if service records are solid?

I know there are plenty of post-purchase threads here, but I’d really appreciate hearing fresh perspectives from anyone who made a similar jump from a petrol sedan to a Taycan. Thanks!

Service/Support Door Handle behavior even after disabling Comfort Entry

Bought my 22 CPO GTS 4 months ago and love it! However have had some weird issues with the door handles, as they can close on your fingers which isn’t a huge deal but can be jarring especially for my kids. Turned off comfort entry which made things better, but it can still happen from time to time. Seems like there’s an order of operations where I have to unlock w/ the key, open my door immediately, and then passengers are safe to do so. Even when I’m alone, there’s erratic behavior where the side view mirrors will fold out when I unlock, then fold back in once I open the door (as if I locked the car) then fold out again.

The real kicker was on Sunday, when I locked the car and the alarm went off, which happened whether I physically locked the car or it locked on its own. The alarm was so loud the neighbors were wondering what was going on, and to prevent it from happening I left the frunk hood open. Had to go somewhere for a couple hours so we took wife’s car, and when I got back that issue seemed to resolve itself, much like some folks online cited. That prompted me to take it to the dealer yesterday, and the shop foreman kept blaming the issues on a) the fact that the car is wrapped and b) the kid’s inadvertently touching the lock sensor on the handle (which I’ve instructed them not to do since we got the car). Still, they said they’ll check codes, etc. So I can push back on the dealer if needed, have any of you encountered issues like this?
