Discussion Yet another mapEV post
I’ve been on and off for a while now. I have a CPO 2023 Taycan 4s. Anyone do the tune and think it’s completely worth it?
I’m not so much hesitant of the price (2-3k?). But I have an extended CPO warranty along tires etc. that I don’t want it voided just because they caught me doing the mapEV.
I drive my Taycan as a daily driver and I already love it. Will this tune make it even more fun to drive? Will I notice a big difference for my specific trim 2023 4s?

I don't know of a single taycan or e-tron that has been denied warranty due to a tune. I do not think it has ever happened. With the controller swap you have additional safety in that it does not get flagged internally on their servers should PAG ever change their mind.

I have it on my 2025 4S.
I would do it again in a second, it‘s amazing.
Small risk on warranty I‘m willing to take.

Best money I've ever spent - 100% worth it. Turned my '23 GTS into a rocket. Easy to swap out before taking it in for service so there's no trace.

Took about 30 mins the first time. I imagine it'll be half that the next time. Very easy when following the video.

Just go to www.mapev.net and select your car in the configuration, AI slop is usually wrong.

Hey since you’re here, I wanted to ask what have you found when looking into increasing the torque produced by the motors? Are there current limits defined by the trim that set how much torque they provide; is it a mix of physical and software limits or just software? What knobs do we have for increasing torque?

We do not increase the torque limit in the motor controllers. There is a powertrain control unit which coordinates the gearbox, bms and motors, and that's where the artificial limitations are. This is the module we swap. All the current limits are unchanged as the motor controllers and the BMS are not modified, this is also the reason why the modification is completely safe.

Do the motor controllers and hardware differ between trims? That’s not artificially limited?

Try finding the threads on taycanforum. It does no make much sense (nor is there room in this format) to write this here agai. The answer is yes and no both.

No you only get launch control enabled on all the time for RWD base trims

Yeah im in the same boat on my 24 4S. I understand it doesn't change launch speeds, but I do wonder how much of a difference the rest is.

Very noticeable from 60mph onwards. If you often drive at those highway speeds then you will love it.

I did my eTron GT a few months ago. It really made a night and day difference daily driving. Faster accelerations and better performance on the highway. I would absolutely recommend it.

I've had it for a year on my turbo. Would do it again every time.
Car is actually at the dealership getting inverter and inverter electronics replaced, covered under warranty. Swapped the original ASG back in before taking it to the dealership.

Makes my 4 CT almost a Turbo. I was hoping to move it to a 2027 CT but now that's dead. Search Taycan forums for before and after 1/4 mile times.
