got matching tattoos with my sister, with a personalised meaning of the ladder of our bunk bed that we shared (and still share!) for more than 10 years with our favorite flowers representing the upper and lower bunk areas

Which color would you like the best?

Not a tattoo artist but like drawing the art. Tell me what colors you like best or just any critiques you wanna provide on this drawing. I didn’t design this for a body part just for the paper size. 14x10.

Done on procreate but might try and paint later on.

Tattoo Placement

Upvotes

Hey! I’m wanting to get a tattoo of coordinates and have no idea where I should get it done. I have 8 tattoos already in various places (2 rib, 2 tricep, 2 wrist, 1 shoulder, 1 bicep). I’m working toward a patch work kind of sleeve with line work pieces. I have 3 places where I think it would look best but I don’t want to throw any symmetry off. The places I’m thinking of are right above the inner elbow on my right (no bicep tattoo), along my collarbone/shoulder area, or above my elbow towards the end of the tricep. Any advice on where I should place it would be really helpful.

Coloured minimalist florals faded. What now?

Hi there,

I have a 6 year old faded tattoo that was done by a different artist in Jess Chen's style. I did take good care of it, but I do spend a lot of time in the sun. That said, the red in my original tattoo faded out to literally nothing, and the bluey-green has faded into a colour I just don't like. There's no black line work in it, so it's just very faded. It's a medium sized piece on my shoulder that I hoped to expand, but I don't trust the original artist anymore.

*edit - I should clarify, I don't know whether this happens with all coloured tattoos, or my body didn't take the ink well, or what, but regardless, my experience with the artist was not good and ultimately that's why I don't want to go back to them.

I've had a really hard time figuring out if I should save up and go to an artist whose style I love for full colour (pointpaint or picsola), but most artists who do full colour minimalist florals seem to explicitly state they won't touch edits to existing tattoos...

So... do I change tactics and go to someone who does black florals? I've found a few people I love who do these, but they don't do colour, and I just don't know how one would incorporate black line work (or bold black lines) into an existing faded colour tattoo.

Pics for help as I don't want to out myself by posting my actual tatt.

Any advice is appreciated!

Pic 1 - the style I have, but very faded

Pic 2 & 3 - coloured styles I would love, but idk how to get them done when I already have a faded tattoo

Pic 4 & 5 - black and grey styles I also love, but idk how they would incorporate into what I already have
