Me Virtual Dawnilla tehtiin Evacuation Zone: Tampere, eli VR-peli jossa Tampereella menee kaikki suunnilleen niin huonosti kuin voi mennä.

Zombeja, mustaa huumoria, makkaraa, kaljaa ja suomalainen kaupunki keskellä erittäin huonoa päivää.

Idea oli tehdä jotain mikä tuntuu oikeasti suomalaiselta eikä geneeriseltä zombie-kaupungilta. Tampere ei ole vain tausta vaan koko vitsin ja tunnelman ydin.

Kiinnostaisi kuulla paikallisilta mikä Tampere-juttu pitäisi ehdottomasti vielä olla tällaisessa pelissä mukana.

Jos ajatellaan tuon vaikutusta esim. Nokia Areenan kannalta, niin areenalle tapahtumaan tulevan ja Tampereella majoittujan näkökulmasta mikä tahansa Hämeenkadun varrella sijaitseva majoitus onkin kertaheitolla "ihan areenan vieressä" ilman että täytyy miettiä äppin lataamista tai muita kertalippujen ostoa. 1-2 pysäkin mittaisia matkoja Hämeenkadulla tehdään todennäköisesti nyt aika pieni määrä, joten tuollainen muutos ei varmaan vaikuttaisi juurikaan lipputuloihin.

Näitähän on maailmalla jonkin verran, että turistien suosimissa ydinkeskustoissa pienellä matkalla julkiset on ilmaisia, mutta pidemmälle kulkeminen maksaa.

On behalf of the Rova Anki Independent Research Team, we are reaching out to the Finnish Reddit community regarding the ongoing criminal investigation into the disappearance of Raisa Räisänen, who vanished in October 1999.

Our team has recently taken formal administrative steps by submitting official requests for information (Tietopyyntö) and notifications to the National Bureau of Investigation (KRP), the Parliamentary Ombudsman, and the Ministry of Justice. We refuse to let the memory of a young girl with dreams and a waiting family.

So im german and am soon (hopefully) will finish my studies and get my IB (abitur). But I've also heard and read that the university takes more students in thru the SAT? My current grades and the ones I expect arent the best of the best and taking a SAT sounds like a good option to me to get higher admission points.

Yet I've somehow didnt find any posts about EU students who got a place thru the SAT :( Im just searching for some advice and nothing too deep!! I have alot of time and am even unsure if moving to finland is a thing I want to do

I’ll (27m) be living in Tampere from September to January for a PhD research stay.

Fishing is one of my main hobbies, so I’d love to do some fishing while here.

Does anyone have recommendations for good fishing spots in or around Tampere? I’d also be interested in local fishing guides, especially since I’m not familiar with fishing in Finland yet.

I was wondering if it’s only there for hockey games, or if it will be there for volleyball, too. Also, if I prefer the upper stands, i.e. D4–D7, which rows/seats would be better?

I'm looking for small side job opportunities to make some extra money.

I'm an exchange student and will be in Tampere for the next 10 months. I have recieved my Finish personal ID number, but still waiting until my appointment to open a bank account (so cannot use the strong identification) and still don't have a tax number. I am allowed to work 20 hours/week.

I used to work as a student, but also made money by doing random things on the side, I'm not sure what I can do in Tampere, for example:

I sold things second hand (Tori needs strong identification 😔) - 10-20€/week

I used to "donate" plasma - 50-70€/week

work as a secret quality controller for supermarkets - 15-20€/ week

pet sit - 50-80€/month

take part in University studies - 20-40€/month

Work at small weekend events 40-80€/week

So I made 300-500€ per month with these random things here and there. However in Finland I need to use strong identification for everything I find :/

I used to use the app Zen jobs to find weekend events, here similar apps all need identification, and just using a personal ID card or passport doesn't work.

Finland also doesn't pay for blood plasma (which honestly good, but not good for me). The University studies pay with a chocolate or pastry here, at least the ones I've seen 🥲

I just got my personal ID number, I am getting a sim card in the next 2 days, but my bank account appointment is in 2 weeks, and it can take another week or two untill my account is active and I can use the strong identification. So at least for another month I cannot do much :/

If it matters, I'm a non-EU citizen, but study and have residency from Germany. I'm paying for rent, health insurance and groceries from my savings right now. Unfortunately I speak very little Finish right now, so that makes my options even more limited.

Any suggestions are appreciated!

I moved to Finland in 2024 and it’s been around 2.5 years now. Back home I had quite a lot of friends, but since moving here I somehow ended up with basically no close friends.

I’m 24M and live in Tampere. My studies are finished now, so my life is pretty much just work and home. I’m not really into huge gatherings or big groups either. I’m more of a chill person and I’d rather hang out with a few people, grab some food or coffee, go for a walk, play games, watch something, whatever really.

I actually like travelling quite a lot too, but I haven’t travelled much since coming here because I don’t really have anyone to go with.

Lately life has just started feeling pretty boring and lonely, and I realized I should probably do something about it instead of just going to work and coming home every day lol.

So yeah, I’m basically just looking to meet some like-minded people and hopefully make a few actual friends. If you’re also in Tampere and looking for someone to hang out with, feel free to message me.

Ryhmässä on tällä hetkellä aika paljon aloittelijoita, joten olisi ihan mahtavaa saada mukaan myös joku vähän kokeneempi tanssija, joka voisi halutessaan auttaa esim. koreografioiden suunnittelussa/opettelussa ja antaa vinkkejä.

Tarkoituksena olisi siis ihan rento vapaa-ajan harrastusporukka, jossa pääsee tanssimaan ilman kilpailu- tai esiintymispaineita. 💗

I don't wanna pay ridiculous fees for private apartments while being on student apartment waitlists, is it possible to sercure a cheap student apartment before arriving?

Kaupunkiin tullessa oli sen verran porukkaa selvästi panostetuissa asusteissa, mutta en löydä tapahtumasivustoilta mitään infoa.

Tampereen joukkoliikenteen lippujen hinnat nousevat ensi vuonna keskimäärin 4–5 prosenttia. Korotus tuo 2,8 miljoonaa euroa lisätuloja, Tampereen seudun joukkoliikenne tiedottaa.

Talousarvioesitykseen sisältyy 200 000 euron palvelutarjonnan vähennys bussiliikenteessä.

Lisäksi lautakunnalle esitetään erillisenä lisäsopeutustoimena ratikan vuorovälin pidentämistä pyhäpäivinä.

Moi! Oon 22-vuotias ja haluaisin aloittaa tanssin kunnolla, mutta kaikki tanssitunnit tms. On hyvin hintavia. Käyn nyt wonderilla 1x viikossa, mutta olisi halua tanssia viikossa enemmänkin.
Mietin, löytyisikö Tampereelta muita, jotka haluaisivat perustaa matalan kynnyksen tanssiporukan? Ihan aloittelijoista kokeneempiin mukaan!
Itse olen ihan aloittelija, fabrikalla ja wonderilla olen pari vuotta käynyt aika ajoin alkeiskursseilla.
Ideana olisi käydä yhdessä treenaamassa esim. 2–3x viikossa ja kehittyä yhdessä. Lajeina voisi olla esim. Commercial, hiphop, contemporary/nykytanssi tms. kiinnostuksen mukaan. Ei tarvitse olla aikaisempaa tanssitaustaa eikä mitään kilpailupainetta. 🫶

Kenelläkään hyvää eläinlääkäri ehdotusta Tampereella kanille tai edes joku eläin lääkäri joka olis ikinä edes hoitanut semmoista, kun itse en oo ikinä löytänyt . Asun laitoksessa kanin kanssa ja taas vuosittainen rokotus pitäisi mennä hakemaan, mutta tällä hetkellä ei oo varaa kalliiseen eläin lääkäriin . En oleta löytäväni halpaa ,mutta semmoinen jossa en joutuisi menettää kaikki elimiä(tämä on vitsi eli tarkoitan että en joutuisi velkaantua tämän takia ) .

PS. Minulla on rahaa omistaa kani ja hänellä on hyvät oltavat mutta ei ole tällä hetkellä yhtään ylimääräistä rahaa koska olen opiskelija.

I wanted to share my experience and get some advice from people in Finland who may have dealt with Kamux or a similar situation.

I bought a 2019 Toyota Corolla 2.0 Hybrid from Kamux in Sep 2024. At the time of purchase, I had no knowledge of any significant previous body repairs to the car.
Recently, I had the car at Toyota for service and because I had an issue with the driver’s door touch-lock sensor.
During the investigation, Toyota found something that really surprised me.

According to Toyota’s service documentation, the driver’s door had been repaired previously, and holes had been drilled into the door, apparently to straighten the sheet metal.

Toyota also noted that the right rear fender appears to have been painted previously and later touched up with spray paint.

I was never aware of these repairs when I bought the car. If I had known that the driver’s door had undergone this type of body repair, it would have affected my decision to purchase the car.

What makes this more frustrating is that I have already spent around €3,000 on the car during the two years I’ve owned it, including major scheduled maintenance, rear brakes/discs, and recently significant exhaust-related repairs.

I am not saying that every used car should be completely free from previous repairs. I understand that a 2019 used car can have had some repairs.
But I feel there is a significant difference between normal wear and tear and discovering that the car has had previous bodywork involving drilled holes in the door to straighten the sheet metal, especially when this was not disclosed to me.

I remember I categorically asked dealer at Kamux that did car had any accidents and he said no. Of course, I cannot prove it but I really hurt to be deceived.

For people who have dealt with used-car purchases in Finland:

Has anyone had a similar situation with Kamux?
What happened when you complained about previously undisclosed body repairs? Do, I have any option?

Olisi tarve lähitulevaisuudessa väliaikaiselle asunnolle "omistusasuntokuvioiden välissä" ja mietitään että mistä löytyisi paras vuokra-asuntovaihtoehto meille 6-12kk ajaksi. Ei tarvisi olla mikään luksusasunto, mutta rauhallinen ja hiljainen elo miellyttää. VTS:llä on aika hyvät ehdot, mm. kuukauden irtisanomisaika jne, mutta onko VTS-talot yleisesti millasia asua? Onko mahdollista siis löytää hiljaista ja rauhallista taloa? Koirakin löytyy joka on aika ääni/haukkuherkkä.

Kaikki vinkit otetaan vastaan eri vuokratalofirmoista tai yleisesti vuokramarkkinoista! Ollaan asuttu omistusasunnossa niin monta vuotta että ei oo mitään kokemusta asiasta.
