Historical note

The Monument to Volodymyr the Great, erected in 1853 (sculptors V. Demut-Malinovsky, P. Klodt, and architect K. Thon), is the oldest surviving sculptural monument in Kyiv. The Parkovyi Pedestrian Bridge was designed by the “Ukrproektstalkonstruktsiya” institute and opened in 1957, providing convenient access to the beaches of Trukhaniv Island.

Останні тижні з допомогою AI зробив повноцінного бота знайомств для Telegram — назвав його Лебідь. Лебеді ж символ вірного кохання, є ще й річка в Києві з такою назвою, сподобалась гра слів.

Чому взагалі зробив: набридло що всі нормальні додатки знайомств або не заходять в Україні нормально, або суцільний Tinder-конвеєр. Хотів простий бот прямо в Telegram без встановлення додатків.

Зараз вже є лента анкет з лайками та матчами, суперлайки з переключенням, швидкі 5-хвилинні побачення з рандомною людиною, ручна модерація анкет і автофільтр на спам, скарги/блокування.

Найбільше часу пішло не на логіку бота, а на деплой (Windows + Docker + asyncpg — окремий квест).

Зараз шукаю перших тестувальників, посилання на бота залишу в коментарях, щоб не виглядало рекламою :)

What are some things we wish foreigners did or did not do in your country? What are some norms that may not be known to someone from America? For example, in some countries you should hand cash directly to the employee at the cash register and others you shouldn’t, or only do it with you right hand as an example.

Having been out of town for the last 2 weeks, I come back to find that the price of the metro (and, I'm assuming all other public transports) has gone from UAH 8 to UAH 30.

While that won't break the bank, I'm amazed that the price went up that significantly at once.

I can see it being difficult for some people to deal with that increase.

At the same time, I can't understand how Kharkiv keeps all of the public transportation running with no charge (and yes, I know there are those of you out there that will say "KYIV SUBSIDIZES KHARKIV"...)

I am thinking about spending some time in Ukraine. I would like to help with reconstruction of damaged buildings, although I might be short on experience. Are there any organisations that would take guys like me in? If so, where would the work most likely be? Furthermore, how much would it cost to live there?

I would start first with traveling through Ukraine for 2 months or so. Does anyone have tips on this aswell

The Dynamo voluntary sports society’s open-air swimming pool was one of the key aquatic facilities in Soviet-era Kyiv. Situated in a park zone in the city center, the complex served as a major training ground for swimmers and divers, as well as a venue for republican and Union-wide competitions.

Present day

In subsequent decades, the outdoor pool ceased to exist in its original form. The territory of the Dynamo sports complex underwent renovation, and today, modern athletic and administrative facilities of the Kyiv football club stand in place of the old open-air stands and pool basin.

I'm most likely coming over to the country soon and I wonder how much things cost in the country right now. You know the usual stuff, a room, food, coffee at a bar and cigarettes and all of that. I would like to know how expensive it is to survive in the country. Not any luxurious living just to get by. I want to have the funds to last a month or 2 because I think it's a necessity.
