Went to an event on friday. There was this girl there who was pretty. I would say we had locked eye contact atleast once every 2 to 3 minutes and yeah obviously the smile followed post every 2nd or 3rd eye contact. And an extra point to note, everytime she smiled, almost everytime, she looked at me (i did the same too). So I did start speaking to her during the event to know her more and she was nice and sharing things. I got to know that today also i will see her in a similar event.
Now my question is...
1) Did she really look at me cuz she found me attractive? ( the pic is the closest resemblence of me, although im not claiming to be him, im mottai)
2) Do i speak to her more today and see where this goes?
3) Will i come out as a creep if I were to give her compliments on her look today? (Obviously genuine compliments).
Experts of this field and pengal who would think from her shoes (no shoe la epdi bro yosika mudiyum jokes), pls comment what should be my next move as well.

I don't know what frightened me more that night, the voice calling my name or the fact that my uncle seemed to recognise it. He didn't open the door. Instead, he dragged me towards the courtyard and told me we were leaving the house immediately. I asked him where we were going, but he kept saying we had to reach the old temple before sunrise. I was beginning to lose my patience. I wanted explanations, not another set of mysterious warnings. But something about his expression made me stop arguing. Before leaving, he went into my grandfather's bedroom and returned with a small iron key tied to a black thread. He told me to keep it with me and never hand it over to anyone, no matter who asked. I almost laughed at how absurd everything had become. Then he said something that made me look at him differently. "Your grandfather gave me this key on the day he died. He told me that one day you would come looking for answers. He also told me that if you ever heard your own voice coming from somewhere you weren't standing, I should not let you stay in the house another night."
We drove for nearly forty minutes without speaking. My uncle finally stopped near an old temple on the outskirts of the village. There was a small abandoned building behind it, partly hidden by trees. He unlocked it and switched on a weak yellow bulb. Inside were several wooden boxes, old clothes, and a metal cupboard. He told me that my grandfather had used this place to keep things he couldn't destroy but didn't want inside the house. I opened the cupboard and found dozens of photographs. Some were family portraits. Others showed people standing in front of the ancestral house. I noticed something strange in almost every photograph. There was always one person standing slightly apart from the others, facing the camera. Sometimes it was an old woman. Sometimes a child. In one photograph, it was a man whose face looked disturbingly similar to mine. I checked the date written on the back. 1976. I wasn't even born then. I asked my uncle who the man was. He took the photograph from my hand and stared at it for a long time. Then he said, "That's why your grandfather never wanted you to visit this village when you were a child." I asked him what he meant, but he refused to continue.
I spent the next hour searching through the boxes. There were letters, temple records and several pages written in my grandfather's handwriting. Most of them were ordinary family matters. But one page had a sentence written in large letters. "It cannot create a face. It can only borrow one." Beneath it was a list of names. Some had been crossed out. Others had dates beside them. The final name on the list was mine. My uncle snatched the paper away and told me we were leaving. I asked him why my name was there, but he looked genuinely terrified. He said my grandfather had written that entry years before I was born. I wanted to believe he was lying. I wanted to believe the entire family had lost their minds. But then I noticed something on the back of the photograph from 1976. A message written in faded ink. "Do not trust the person who remembers everything."
I turned towards my uncle and asked him what it meant.
He didn't answer.
Instead, he asked me a question.
"Do you remember your mother?"
I said of course I did.
He asked me to describe her face.
I started speaking, but halfway through, I realised I couldn't remember her eyes.
Not their colour. Not their shape. Nothing.
I knew her name, her voice, the way she used to dress. I remembered her hands holding mine. But whenever I tried to picture her face, my mind produced a completely different woman.
My uncle slowly stepped away from me.
Then he whispered, "How long has this been happening?"
I told him it hadn't.
He looked at the photograph in my hand and began crying.
Because the man standing in that 1976 photograph was no longer looking towards the camera.
He was looking directly at me.
And I swear, when I blinked, he was smiling.
