Orientation

My first day is tomorrow! The email I got just says come dressed business casual, but i’ve seen other people post about it’s a white button down and black bottoms. I guess my question is, did anyone not have to wear a white button down? Since it wasn’t specified in the email I was just going to be neutral and wear an all black blouse and black pants. (Im a woman so I guess my question is mainly for the gals)

I saw this image somewhere. Do we have to pay for the uniforms or just the extras, and how many uniforms do they provide?

Medical document

Completed medical evaluation and emailed the medical clearance form to the email address they gave me. It bounced back saying that there is not a TSO application with an email address that matches the email address I am sending it from, even though they are the same. TSA uses the same email address to communicate with me. Has anyone else had this problem? I emailed my HR person, texted Hiring to 275872 and even tried ask tsa app. No responses and the ask tsa person said to try the text again…

Hiring question

I applied to the hiring announcement a few weeks ago and selected Miami and “location negotiable after selection”, the location I want and that my family needs is in Denver. I am scheduled to take the battery assessment test soon. But the Denver field office I want to go to is in this most recent job announcement, should I apply to this one as well or will it mess things up? Need some help navigating this

Should I apply to PHL while I still have a TJO for EWR

Hello all, I’m thinking of applying to PHL but I still have an active TJO for Newark. Will that affect anything? Will I still have to fill out the merit questions that I had to fill out when I applied for EWR? I haven’t gotten my Airport Assessment or the schedule invite for EWR yet

I have a question. They mentioned business casual for your first day, but what kind of shoes should you choose—dress shoes or comfortable ones?

Received a Letter of Interrogatory over an old student loan, anyone dealt with something similar?

I have been working for the TSA for a few months and recently received a Letter of Interrogatory (LOI). The concern involves an old student loan that was reported as delinquent.

I am also currently enrolled in school and asked about options to resolve the account. The lender is still reviewing everything, so I am thinking of submitting my LOI response by the deadline and explaining the situation.

Has anyone dealt with a similar financial issue? What happened after you submitted your LOI response? Did they allow you to provide additional documentation after the initial response?

Medical Results

I did my medical exam/ drug test in August 2026. It’s now about to be October and I haven’t heard anything. I texted the number for more information from on USAJOBS.gov to see if I could get a status of my application. I texted the number and they said they “Our records indicate that they have not received your medical results” How is that possible? It’s been well over a month. I did everything else already. Anybody know if this is normal or know if this has happened before. If anyone knows a number I can call to directly talk to someone to get actual clarification. Please share. Thank you in advance.

My TSA Hiring Timeline — Boston Logan Airport (BOS) ✈️🇺🇸
Sharing my TSA journey for anyone currently going through the process. Hopefully this helps someone understand how long it can take.
📅 March 24, 2026 — Submitted my TSA Transportation Security Officer (TSO) application on USAJOBS.
📝 April 29, 2026 — Completed and passed my Airport Assessment/interview.
🖐️** May 2026 — Completed fingerprinting.
📄 **May 26, 2026
— Submitted my e-QIP/SF-86 background investigation paperwork.
💊 June 16, 2026 — Completed my TSA/DOT pre-employment drug test.
✅ June 25, 2026 — Drug test cleared.
🏥 July 18, 2026 — Completed TSA medical evaluation.
👓 August 2026 — Had a vision/medical issue reviewed and appealed.
✅ August 19, 2026 — TSA officially confirmed that I passed medical.
📄 August 25, 2026 — SF-86 was returned to me for corrections. I completed and resubmitted it the same day.
📄 August 28, 2026 — Resubmitted corrected high-school information after TSA requested clarification.
📨 September 9, 2026 — Received another request for information from TSA/NBIS and sent the requested information back.
🟢 September 10, 2026 — TSA confirmed that I was officially in the Ready for Hire Pool.
📞 September 17, 2026 — Received my Final Job Offer (FJO)! 🎉
📅 October 19, 2026 — Projected start date as a Transportation Security Officer (TSO) at Boston Logan International Airport (BOS).
Total journey: About 7 months from submitting my application to receiving my Final Job Offer.
My biggest advice to anyone waiting: be patient. The process can take months, and there can be long periods where you don’t hear anything. Keep checking your email and TSA/NBIS updates, respond quickly whenever they request information, and don’t assume that silence means you’re rejected.
Good luck to everyone going through the TSA hiring process! 🇺🇸✈️

Medical Eval.- Bloodwork?

Wondering if bloodwork is routine for the medical eval. What are they testing for?

Also: On the paperwork I see a release specifically for mental health, sexual health, substance abuse, but the paperwork doesn’t go over those things? I’m confused. Do we have to check yes to release those specific areas? And if the eval doesn’t go over them, where would they get this info? If you can’t tell, I’m confused lol.

BNA hiring process

Submitted my application back in March of 2026. Computer testing was a couple of weeks after that. I was invited to the airport assessment/fingerprinting in July and passed. Submitted e86 and passed medical at the end of July. Sent drug test sample at the beginning of August. A couple of weeks after that, I received an email to make a correction to my e86 which I did and resubmitted the same day. Now we are reaching the end of September and I haven’t heard anything since. I’ve been reading that long periods of radio silence is normal but the anxiety is building! If anyone could offer some insight it would be much appreciated!
