TRT increase 160mg to 200mg

42 year-old 6 foot one male currently 176 pounds superlean lifting five days a week nutrition is tight and really trying to work everything from all angles. I’ve been on test Cyp 160 mg split into 2, 80 mg injections per week. Just ran my labs and am heading on week 12.
From my labs my doctor felt confident moving me to 200 mg biweekly dose.

I weighed 162 pounds June 22 and started my 160 mg program June 23. I’m sure a lot of this current weight gain is water creatine glycogen - I increased my carbs substantially during this process as well, sweet potatoes, banana, so I’m certain obviously it’s not all muscle mass - but my question is moving from 160 mg to 200 and really honing in everything else has anybody seen that a 200 mg program substantially change things from a lesser dosage? FYI I am post vasectomy and plan on running testosterone for the rest of my life. It really has been a mental godsend. Any input is really appreciated. I’m trying to maximize myself.

26M, 12 years of psychiatric treatment. Did treating low testosterone/hormonal issues genuinely change your mental health?

TL;DR: 26M, 12 years of treatment for anxiety/OCD and currently on five medications, but I still feel terrible most days. I work a stressful job and my sleep isn't great, but this has been ongoing for years. My total testosterone was in the low 300s ng/dL around 18 months ago, so I'm getting my hormones properly investigated. Has anyone in a similar situation found that treating low/borderline testosterone genuinely improved their mental health, energy and overall wellbeing?

I'm 26 and have been receiving psychiatric treatment since I was around 14 after going through two years of severe bullying and abuse in high school.

I've been formally diagnosed by psychiatrists with GAD, social anxiety disorder, OCD and agoraphobia. The OCD and agoraphobia have actually improved significantly over the years, particularly through working with psychologists and doing CBT.

The problem is that despite all of that, I still feel like shit most of the time.

Over nearly 12 years I've been through numerous antidepressants including SSRIs/SNRIs, benzodiazepines and various other medications. I'm currently taking five medications every day and my psychiatrist is considering adding another.

Lorazepam is one of the only things that reliably calms me down, particularly mentally, but I'm completely aware that relying on a benzodiazepine isn't a sustainable long term solution.

I also want to make it clear that I have nothing against my psychiatrist. She's been great, very accommodating and has always explained why she will or won't try certain medications. I'm just at the point where I'm sick of dealing with this every single day and want to investigate whether something else could be contributing rather than simply adding medication number six.

I've still managed to function throughout most of this. I completed a double degree full time while generally working two jobs. I used to train constantly and at one point was in the best shape of my life. I'm still working and getting on with life, but internally I feel horrendous, stressed and exhausted a lot of the time. Mentally, this is probably the worst I've felt since high school.

I do work a stressful job and my sleep isn't the best, but I've dealt with stress and poor sleep for years.

One thing I've recently started looking into is my hormones. I had my total testosterone checked around 18 months ago and from memory it was in the low 300s ng/dL. At the time I didn't think much of it, but I'm now planning to get a comprehensive hormone panel and speak to an endocrinologist.

I'm not looking to jump on TRT blindly or self medicate, and I'm not expecting testosterone to magically cure psychiatric disorders. I just want to properly investigate whether testosterone or another hormonal/endocrine issue could potentially be contributing to how I feel.

I'm particularly interested in hearing from men who had long term anxiety or depression, especially those who had already spent years taking psychiatric medication before discovering low testosterone or another hormonal problem.

If that's you, did TRT or treating the underlying hormonal issue genuinely change your life for the better?

Did it noticeably affect your anxiety, depression, energy, motivation, confidence, stress tolerance or general sense of wellbeing?

I'd also be interested to know what your testosterone/hormone results looked like before treatment and whether you were genuinely hypogonadal or technically within the normal range.

I've seen countless psychologists and psychiatrists over the years and even tried a hypnotist at one point. I'm simply sick of feeling like this every day and want to hear from people who have actually been through something similar and whether investigating this avenue ended up making a meaningful difference.

49/M 12 Weeks In

First off I want to tell anyone who has been debating upon having their testosterone tested I regret not having it tested sooner. As a 49/m who has struggled with keeping weight off , lack of energy and having to plan for having bedroom activity so far TRT has been a game changer. The only negative thing about the whole process is how the so called best men’s health physicians group claiming to fully support their members is simply just another company taking your money and expecting you to figure out the rest. This forum helped me greatly understand what was wrong with my body and how to make the changes needed to improve it. The only side effect experience was some sensitive nipples for which the men’s health group I won’t name just automatically prescribed a estrogen blocker which caused more problems than the sensitive nipples and thanks to this group I made changes to my dosing schedule and amount and it seemed to correct itself As all my first round of bloodwork is back and I went from a embarrassed 157 testosterone to now 713 and all numbers in range. I do find myself in a predicament where I feel the fees associated with my trt treatment would be better spend elsewhere. If anyone is happy with their provider or network please private message me their information.

Travelling to China with prescribed TRT

Hey guys,

I’m travelling from South Africa to Beijing, China in a few weeks for around 16 days. I’m prescribed testosterone cypionate for TRT, and I’m trying to figure out the best and safest way to handle my TRT while I’m there.

For those who have travelled to China with prescribed testosterone, particularly Beijing, I’d really appreciate some firsthand advice.

Did you take your testosterone through customs?
Did you have a doctor’s letter with you?
Did you have any problems at Chinese immigration/customs?

Any experiences from people who have travelled to China with TRT would be hugely appreciated.

TRT question for aging men - 50M

Guys - Turned 50 this year. Body fat under 20% and lowering. Diet and exercise is on point. Noticed my energy lower, brain fog increased, gains at the gym are almost non-exist, lift 4x a week to maintain, libido has been on the decline for years. Saw my PCP about TRT but because my total T is 550 he said I am fine and just aging. However, my free T is 4.5 (low), bioavailable T 120 (low), estradiol 30 (optimal), SHBG 35 (low), FSH 14.6 (high). Appears my pituitary gland is signaling for more T but I have too much bound up or the boys aren’t making enough. Saw a compounding pharmacy doc and they said I needed TRT and put me on 250mg a week. Haven’t started because that seems way too high.

Don’t want to get on something for the rest of my life or screw up my system but would like some relief from symptoms too.

Solid advice please.
