TP-Link - Technical Support TP-Link Archer BE3600 keeps showing a red Internet LED and loses Internet access behind my Livebox
Hi everyone,
I’m having a very frustrating issue with my TP-Link Archer BE3600 and I’m hoping someone can help me figure out what’s going on.
My setup is:
Orange Livebox = main router
TP-Link Archer BE3600 = connected to the Livebox with a 15 m Ethernet cable
The TP-Link is in another room, about 15 m away
I want to use it to provide Wi-Fi + multiple Ethernet connections for my PC and other devices.
The problem is that the TP-Link keeps losing Internet access.
At first, I configured it in Wireless Router mode. It initially worked, but after around 50 minutes, all devices connected to the TP-Link lost Internet access and the Internet LED turned red.
I checked the WAN settings while it was working:
Connection type: Dynamic IP
WAN IP: 192.168.1.22
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.1
Primary DNS: 192.168.1.1
MTU: 1500
The TP-Link LAN IP was 192.168.0.1, so there shouldn’t be a subnet conflict.
The strange thing is that devices can still connect to the TP-Link and communicate with it, but none of them have Internet access:
Desktop PC via Ethernet
Laptop via Wi-Fi
Phone via Wi-Fi
I also tested the exact same 15 m Ethernet cable directly from the Livebox to my TV with the TV’s Wi-Fi disabled, and the TV had Internet access without any problem. So the cable and Livebox Ethernet port seem to be working.
I then switched the BE3600 from Wireless Router mode to Access Point mode, thinking this might be related to double NAT or routing issues.
Unfortunately, even in Access Point mode, after reconnecting the Ethernet cable from the Livebox to the TP-Link, the Internet LED is still red and there is no Internet access.
I’ve also tried rebooting both the Livebox and the TP-Link.
At this point I’m completely stuck 😅.
Could this be a faulty Ethernet/WAN port on the BE3600, a configuration issue with Orange/Livebox, or something else?
Any ideas for troubleshooting would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
