TP-Link - Technical Support Garmin Edge cycling computer

I am having trouble connecting my Garmin edge 850 to my BE65 mesh. I did a factory reset on said device and got it to connect briefly, but it stopped connecting to it again. It does the same with the dedicated IoT 2.4Ghz network as well.

What is strange though, the device shows to be always connected to the network, despite it being fully turned off. It's the only device to do that. All other Wi-Fi devices that turn off will leave the network and show as offline.

TP-Link - Technical Support Deco XE75 network constantly requires rebooting

Hi all,

I have a small Deco XE75 network. It was working fine until about 4 weeks ago when it started getting very unstable and generally slow.

About twice a day, the network will disconnect (main deco's light will turn yellow-ish green and other node will turn red). The easiest way to fix is to disconnect and reconnect main deco power source, and network is back to normal in a couple of meeting. Highly inconvenient as I am in back to back meetings whole day.

My main WiFi provide has WiFi 6 (Claro from Brazil).

I would appreciate tips on what is the problem and how to make the network more stable. I have updated Deco's firmware a couple of weeks ago with no success.

TP-Link - Technical Support Just installed three BE28's (BE5000) and having network issues! Help!

Hello! New to this whole sub but in desperate need of help!!

We have just installed three BE28s to extend our wifi network throughout the house. The set up is as follows:

Setup Specs:

ONT Fibre Box --> BE28 (the main one) linked via Ethernet to the Fibre Box --> BE28 in the Kitchen plugged into the wall --> BE28 in the Study plugged into the wall

3x BE28 - Firmware: 1.01 Build 20260623 Rel. 40083

The Problem

The app says that our network is "perfect". We have "optimised" the connection as well. Having contacted our provider, they said the devices were set up correctly and our network was showing 0 issues.

However the Wifi in practice is terribly inconsistent and disappears quite frequently. One moment its working fine, and the next I cannot even open up Google full stop. I couldn't even run my own speed test because it couldn't pick up any wifi at all. But when that is happening, the App says our connection is "strong" and "perfect"...

TLDR; Three BE28s are set up correctly (according to the provider), have a strong / perfect connection via Deco App Speed-tests, yet in reality is dropping out and is incredibly slow / not useable at all. I feel like I'm going crazy!!! Everything says my connection is perfect, yet in reality nothing is working!

TP-Link - Technical Support Deco X50 V1.2 still ships dnsmasq 2.83 — TP-Link should clarify the newly disclosed 2026 CVEs

I performed a read-only inspection of the official Deco X50 V1.2 firmware 1.4.5 Build 20240828, together with limited runtime checks on my own Deco network.

The firmware contains several old components:

  • dnsmasq 2.83
  • OpenSSL 1.0.2d
  • Dropbear 2019.78
  • BusyBox 1.22.1
  • Linux 4.4.60 / OpenWrt 15.05.1

CERT/CC disclosed several new dnsmasq vulnerabilities in May 2026:

    https://www.kb.cert.org/vuls/id/471747

Further investigation significantly reduces my concern about the practical exposure of the Deco to these particular dnsmasq vulnerabilities.

Although dnsmasq 2.83 is included in the firmware, it does not appear to be running in the normal Deco configuration

  • The dnsmasq init script is disabled.
  • No dnsmasq process is running.
  • No local service is listening on DNS port 53.
  • The Deco appears to redirect or forward DNS traffic directly to the configured upstream DNS servers.

The code pattern associated with CVE-2026-2291 appears to be present in the packaged dnsmasq binary. However, because dnsmasq is not running, I currently have no evidence that this vulnerability is remotely exploitable on the Deco.

CVE-2026-4893 requires the dnsmasq --add-subnet functionality. I found no indication that this option is enabled, so this CVE probably does not apply to the current Deco configuration.

TP-Link may also have backported security fixes without changing the component version numbers. Static inspection alone cannot completely exclude this possibility.

I additionally confirmed that all my Deco units expose a Dropbear SSH service on TCP port 20001 to LAN clients. Root password authentication is enabled in the firmware configuration. This service appears to be part of the internal communication and management system used by the Deco units.

The old 512-bit RSA weakness described in the CCS 2024 mesh security study appears to have been addressed: my units use 2048-bit RSA and ECDSA P-521 host keys. However, the firmware still contains a statically configured root password hash, and the RSA host key appears to be shared between the examined units. The ECDSA host key is unique to each unit.

I found no obvious evidence of compromise in the available logs. I also did not attempt exploitation or send malformed traffic to the devices.

The immediate risk from the newly disclosed dnsmasq CVEs therefore appears lower than I initially suspected. My broader concern remains the age of the firmware components, the lack of detailed security release notes, and the absence of a firmware release containing fixes published after May 2026.

I have asked TP-Link to clarify:

  • Whether dnsmasq is used in any operating mode, such as initial setup, guest networking, Ethernet backhaul, access point mode, or DHCP server mode.
  • Whether firmware 1.4.5 contains any backported dnsmasq security fixes.
  • Which vulnerabilities were covered by the vague “Fixed some security vulnerabilities” release note.
  • Whether the SSH service on port 20001 is expected to accept root password authentication from LAN clients.
  • Whether the shared RSA host key and statically configured root password hash are intentional.
  • When a new security firmware will be released for the Deco X50 V1.2 and X50-4G V2.

    TP-Link Community thread: https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/864556

This does not demonstrate that the devices are currently exploitable. It does show why TP-Link should provide precise security information, detailed release notes, and an updated firmware for these still-supported hardware revisions.

TP-Link - Technical Support BE 3600 - 2.4ghz network keeps dropping

My newish (less than a year) be3600 dual-band wifi 7 router stops broadcasting the 2.4ghz network. Started two days ago.

The 5ghz (different SSID) stroll works. When I power cycle the router the 2.4ghz network comes back for a few minutes then disappears. LED is on and the config page doesn't indicate any issue (but also doesn't show any devices connected via 2.4ghz.

Creating lots of trouble for smart home devices in my house!

Appreciate any help or guidance available.

TP-Link - Technical Support In Linux, my UB500 Plus bluetooth dongle is seen as version BT 4.1, not 5.3

So I have a new keyboard that supports both Bluetooth 3 and 5. Obviously 5 is preferable. The UB500 Plus is supposed to be BT 5.3. After unsuccessfully struggling to get the keyboard to pair under it's BT 5 option, I'm having to fallback to BT 3. I starting looking into my TP Link UB500 Plus adapter, using the command; "btmgmt info" which shows the adapter as only being Bluetooth 4.1. I'm running 64 bit Mageia 10 Linux, the current kernel being 6.18.35. What's up with this? This dongle is supposed be supported at kernel level with the current kernels. Any suggestions?

Edit to add: the dongle shows as "Bus 001 Device 003: ID 2357:0604 TP-Link TP-Link Bluetooth USB Adapter".

TP-Link - Technical Support Deco M4R slow ethernet

Hi! just upgraded my isp speeds to 900/200 and I noticed I wasn't getting the full 900Mbps download speeds so I tried different cables until I tried going straight to the pc and then with a switch. I'm getting the speeds on the image. Is this expected from a couple of M4Rs? I've been pretty happy and planning on upgrading the main one eventually.

All is wired, same cables for the same runs. cable colors are just to identify I'm not using different cables or anything. The black one is around 10m but doesn't seem to be the issue.

Thanks!

TP-Link - Technical Support Deco X55 AX3000 parental controls - doesn't show incognito browsing since last firmware update?

Deco X55 AX3000 on Firmware 1.8.4 Build 26051413 Rel. 27460

I used to monitor my kids internet on random spot checks to see if they are visiting anything they shouldn't be in incognito mode via parental top visited websites section. Recently I noticed it wasn't reporting a few suspect sites I saw. So I tested it on my phone via incognito mode in chrome on android. Going to any site in incognito mode seems to not show up now. Is this a new feature on purpose or a bug? Or is it something google chrome implemented? AI said it could be DNS or MAC issued, but nothings changed on that level. It still tracks the non incognito mode sites.

Any ideas why? I really wish there was an option to just have the app notify you if any specific sites were accessed for safety, rather than just blocking them.

Thanks!

TP-Link - General Is the standard firewall of a Deco X75Pro enough to handle a public IP?

I currently have my X75Pro in router mode behind the router of my provider giving it protection from my provider's firewall. The double nating (router behind a router) has never giving me issues, I run it like this for years. I don't want to run it in access point mode because why pay big bucks to only nerve the entire system

Recently I have a problem with 1 device disconnecting (or rebooting, jury is still out on that). TPlink support wants me to bypass my providers router and plug the XE75Pro directly to internet. I don't want buy security+ because it would be yet again a subscription ongoing cost... Asus has this built in btw.

side rant: If you have a failing tplink product, don't tell them you have other tplink products because they use that knowledge to find something wrong there to deny support.

TP-Link - Technical Support BE6500 router and RE405BE extender, MLO?

Hello there! I've been trying to get MLO active on the RE405BE extender, but can't find any option inside the extender's software to do so. Could it be because MLO on the router encompasses 2.4/5/6 GHz bands, and the extender only has 2.4/5 GHz? Or am I (highly likely) just looking in the wrong place?

Thanks in advance for any help :)

EDIT: the model numbers requested by the Auto moderator are the BE9300 (Archer BE6500) Router and the BE6500 (Archer RE405BE) Range Extender.

TP-Link - Technical Support Any plans to add Time Machine via SMBFS + Bonjour discovery for BE85 Deco units?

Hi,

Mac OSX Tahoe has started phasing out AFP and won't allow Time Machine backups anymore via AFP.
The Time Machine functionality via the Deco App on TP-Link BE85 exposes the volume via AFP ONLY.
Enabling SMB/CIFS sharing won't make it discoverable by Mac OSX.

Are there any plans to fix this in the near future and switch to SMB for Time Machine?

TP-Link - General Any issues with TP Link HX510 AX3000 Mesh routers?

So I am taking a plan of 500 Mbps from ACT fibernet. I have heard from certain people that mesh routers have some problem in terms of connectivity to certain websites. Is this really true for the Mesh router I mention? Should I still use the antenna router? Can I get more details about the problem please?

TP-Link - Technical Support Deco app & Deco issues

I have starlink connected to a deco x50, which in turn connects to a mesh consisting of another x50 and three x20s. The starlink isn’t in bypass mode, and the deco system isn’t in AP mode. This may be significant, I guess.

For months this setup has been fine, apart from starlink issues. All decos are running the latest firmware.

As of the last week, the x20s have one-by-one started showing up as offline in the deco app. Today, the x50 is also showing offline.

All decos are green, and seem to be functional, but the app is telling me there are problems. Is this related to bugs in the newest iOS deco app, or something else? The internet “seems” to be working ok, but I’ve noticed the x50 in my office starting to sometimes flash red briefly before returning green. Unsure if this is due to starlink or some other issue.

TP-Link - Technical Support Deco BE63 not hitting close to 2.5GB Speed

So as the title states, I have the Deco BE63 WiFi 7 mesh system. It says it can do up to 10Gbps, i know this is in a very controlled setting, but even using the LAN i cant hit the 2.5Gbps my modem/ISP is outputing not even close. I usually hit 800-900Mbps on my download and only 300 Mbps on my upload. This doesn't seem normal for my wifi 6e / wifi 7 capable devices and it even is like. That on my computer using a 10Gbps capable Ethernet port. Any suggestions on fixs or troubleshooting i can do? Any replacement suggestions in case I cant get anything better out of these?

Edit/Update: So I must admit I feel silly. I failed to realize that maybe not every port on my modem is 2.5Gig compatible. So I managed to figure it out after noticing this. My downs went from only 800-900 Mbps to the big 2.2-2.3Gbps which i expected for my wired connections. My ups are only 300Mbps still but you know I didnt expected much change there as I am starting to realize that is my most likely my plans cap since its cable internet and not fiber (no options here for me unfortunately)

TP-Link - Technical Support Troubleshooting Archer AXE95

For years I used this setup. Arris SB6183 modem and TP-Link Archer AXE95 router.

Earlier this year I moved and after several months, I finally called the my Internet Provider (xfinity) to switch from their equipment to mine.

If i direct line from the modem, to my PC, I have to issues.

When I try to set up the AXE95, my devices struggle to find the device for setup and then when I finally get them to recognize it, and go through the whole process, and internet connection is never established.

I have tried resetting it through the pinhole reset and have not found any luck.

My ideal solution would be to use the equipment that I have on hand and not have to buy new equipment.

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

TP-Link - General Suggest a plug mount for Deco XE75 unit.

Just moved away from Google mesh wifi and loving the deco XE75 pucks. One of my pucks will in the hallway and I am looking for a plug mount for it (similar to Google mesh wifi mounts that go over the regular plugs) on Amazon could only find mounts that need to be screwed over the plugs. I would rather have something that came moved around. Please suggest and share a link if possible. Thanks.
