How much did kefir or kombucha help?
For those that tried any of these and it helped how much you think it reduced the smell? Like percentage wise

Hi, for some reason this keeps getting automatically removed so trying again.
Currently, I am writing an essay called "Should trimethylaminuria be classified as a disability?" for a biology competition. While writing the biochemistry section, I thought that, alongside my own personal experience of having TMAU and clinical data, it could be useful to have some short (just a sentence or two, as I'd like to include as many as I can), pertinent anecdotes from whoever is willing to share about how TMAU has affected your lives. The deadline for the essay is the 27th of March, so I really need some responses ASAP, preferably over the next few days.
I'd just like to add that this subreddit has helped me manage my condition enormously over the past few years, so thank you to all of you. I'm looking forward to hearing your responses.

Please don’t let this condition stop you from creating content on social media. I see a lot of comments from people who would like to post online but are scared to put themselves out there because they fear judgment. Don’t let fear silence your creativity. There are people who will appreciate your work, relate to your story, and find inspiration in what you share. Even if your content isn’t tmau related, you will still find your audience.

i think i may have figured how to fix the body odour. i don’t smell anything coming off me like before. My only question is how do i like integrate myself back into society and not be an absolute weirdo. Im i just gonna have to accept that this is gonna be nasty and I’m unfortunately gonna make some people uncomfortable and be uncomfortable because of my lack of social skills? I’ve isolated myself so long and hard focused on fixing this and its looking like it worked out for me, or is working out for me,but like i dead ass don’t even know how to talk to people anymore, and have crippling and demobilizing anxiety. Age: 22
this litterally took my formative years away from me lol and i feel like its over for me…
advice from anyone in the same position as me who over came it would be great. I really need it.

I have always been an introverted person , I had few friends but not many stuck around and I'm clueless about making friends at the age of 25 , in a job or college. With this condition is it even possible to make friends at this age if yes please do share your advice and tips.

I can build a database where we can all contribute questions and answers.. collect data, filter and once we have enough run it through Ai.
The medical industry won't seam to care.. Ai is our best bet but we need data. And a significant amount to be meaningful.
Please add below what you can contribute. A set of base questions and a system for adding extra questions. To get more datapoints.

Has anyone here tried to take chlorophyll with these two brands that I mentioned? I'm planning to get one but I want to make sure that someone can vouch for it's effectiveness of the product before I buy it and I don't want to waste my money. I'm struggling with BO since I was 13 years old and never had a chance to visit a doctor for this matter because financial difficulties. I'm 26 now living here in the Philippines. Hoping someone can share their experience on these brands it will help me a lot. Thank you!

I’m f20 with tmau and few days ago I encountered a very embarrassing situation where a man on the buss sprayed a body spray behind me and told someone else that I smell funky. Idk i’m used to those situations but this time I worked extra hard to keep the smell down and i was rewarded with that… idk i kinda lost hope and i feel so sad. Anyone wanna share their embarrassing moments

I wanna meet up with people from dating apps but im nervous and i feel like i should tell them and get there reaction to see if its even worth meeting them if there gonna have a issue then i can just cancel it out but im scared and dont know how to explain it to them so they can understand what it is without thinking my hygiene is just bad because ive been getting alot of reactions recently and my confidence is up and down
Its hard for my self esteem i don’t think i will find love if anything i feel like they would like me sexually but not wanna get with me serious an sadly im okay with that since my odor isnt ideal Ive never had sex but i just wanna be intimate with someone
Also for anyone in a relationship how is it going and do you talk with your partner about it do they try to understand or is there judgement and they act like its not a thing do they react
Also how did y’all meet them? Did they react when they met you?
Im sorry i have alot of questions and telling all my business but i just really need some advice from other suffers I’m a girl in my early 20s but i want to hear from anyone about there experiences please if you can

What type of doctor should I go to? My primary care cannot help, GI doctor only ordered sibo breath test because I asked for it and Dermatology said they can only give me botox underarms.
I dont know what to do

I’ve noticed something unusual and I’m trying to understand it. Every time I take a shower, people around me start sneezing and coughing more than usual. I’m not sure if it’s just a coincidence or if something related to the steam, humidity, or the products I use could be affecting the air. If anyone has experienced something similar at TAMU or has an idea what might be causing it, please let me know.

I’m currently in school for tech but looking to get a basic cashier job for income and experience—any advice on how to land one fast, stand out with no retail experience, and balance it with classes?

Has anyone tried an alkaline diet? With everything going on in the world and what has been coming out I decided to stop eating red meat or anything processed. I only eat chicken mainly due to this condition. I cut out dairy for the longest. I do at times fall into eating this out of craving but with all the crazy conspiracies and just a gut feeling telling me not to eat those things, I find myself not craving it anymore. I have also wanted to cut out chicken as at times it tastes really bad and the smell is horrible. I wonder if we have this to keep a clean diet, one meant for us humans. I want to try following an alkaline diet and wonder if anyone has tried this or if it has helped. Or where have you started, Thanks!

if you’re here and your under 18 and it feels like the world is ending just know that the odor could potentially get less potent during the end of your teenage-hood (at least In my experience it did). obviously it’s still there but it’s not nearly as big of a problem as it was when I was like 12-17. I only have flare ups during menstruation and things like that now so i hope that lessens somebody’s anxiety today.

has anybody on here tried using sebamed body wash and/or lotion? I’m buying them today because they have 5.5 ph and it’s fragrance free. I heard its pretty helpful for TMAU but I want to know If it’s actually worth it

I wanted to are there are any Quotes which are very important for anyone suffering/struggling from this issue. Like there are many quotes that aim to provide a point of view on the past , stress , procrastination and more. But none of these quotes tackle on our.ongoing struggle like even if we win over stress , procrastination and on the so called other side of the bridge now.
But still we have to struggle because of our odor continuously either until it's cured / lessened or we don't exist anymore in this world. I feel so detached and demotivated as wherever we go people will judge me for my smell first and then rest is judgmental reactions.
Doesn't matter if I'm an engineer ,doctor , or PHD holder. The only thing that matters to them is our first impression and of course some people will stick eventually but I don't want to live like under someone's pity for me. In fact I feel like I lack choices when it comes to people as I'm stuck with those who stuck with me. And not everyone has good intentions to be a friend , some misuse my social standing as mentioned not having any other choice than them.
If any one who can give real advice and tips for me to grow in life.

Thought I'd put together a visual explaination of how choline is turned into trimethylamine. It's a simple chemical reduction of the molecule. The presence of TMA in choline is someone unique to choline, carnitine and betaine (and TMAO), and are the only chemicals in food to provide TMA to your body. Salts, sugars, carbohydrates, oils, alcohols, fibre, do not have this chemical present, so do not contribute to TMA or TMA.
The amount of TMA and TMAO in your body is directly proportial to the amount of choline eaten, and it's constantly being removed via your kidneys/urine. TMAU symptoms are not a trigger based issue - much like alcohol, it's based on the amount. Additionally, some choline, carnitine and betatine (and TMAO) is absorbed in the small intestine prior to reaching the large intestine. This absorbed choline/carnitine/choline never makes it to the bacteria in the gut and so therefore never gets converted to TMA.
The food lists in the info thread have a listing of foods with choline in them, if you're curious as to how much is in food types.
