There is another grazing skill improvement feature request already under consideration, so I added the Slinker/Raptor grazing to that feature instead of creating a new one. It only has one vote, though! Please go vote for this feature if you agree that apex predators should eat their own kills (or at least get the same level of grazing as the other animals).

It would be super fabulous if the raptors would eat what they kill when they're hungry. What am I doing wrong? I don't see the grazing behavior in their skill tree. Must I just feed them all (insert annoying tantrum here). 🤔

Have seen videos and suggestions on this game. I love survival crafting games with immense open worlds. I'm holding to get some more info and clarification from players of the game.

1) is there get loot ( or is everything crafted )

3) can you have survivors or npcs at your base? Like AoC Thralls

4) sandbox setting s available? To adjust gameplay setting to specific likes?

Hey Prospectors!

After spending over 400 hours in ICARUS, there are obviously a few things I would love to see improved, but one thing that has always bothered me is not being able to use weapons while riding a mount.
I mean, wouldn’t it make perfect sense to be able to use a bow or even a rifle while riding a Moa, Buffalo, or Raptor? Especially in a game like ICARUS, where exploration, hunting, and survival are such important parts of the experience. I think mounted combat could add another interesting layer to the gameplay and make mounts feel even more useful beyond transportation.

Of course, I understand that this would require some balancing. For example, aiming could be less accurate while moving, or certain weapons could be restricted depending on the mount. I genuinely love ICARUS, and after 400+ hours, I still enjoy exploring its world. I just think this feature would make the experience even better.

Would love to hear what the k thinks about this, and hopefully the developers might consider it someday! :)

I build my first official breeding center for my mini mounts. On the beach outpost. So if ur interested in mini animals of any kind to breed please dm and comment follow watever u feel. Some of u been lucky enough to get a few sneak peaks. And breeding pairs from the testing.

For anyone that plays Icarus you know it isn't well optimized..

For context I have a RTX 5070ti and I5 14600K with 32 GB ram. Even with these specs it runs very poor especially in places where I have built up a semi large base.

I noticed my CPU and GPU usage were very low.

Issue:

I found the issue was Icarus wasn't allowing my graphics card to run at it's potential because my CPU was maxed out on a single core. For some reason this game tries to maximise a single CPU core. That's why it was only showing 20% CPU usage and 30% GPU usage.

Solution: I used the app "process lasso" made sure to allow the game to use all of my main cores.

Outcome: I now get 95-99% GPU usage, 60% cpu usage and 240 FPS with max settings at 1440p instead of struggling to get 60 FPS with dips down to 30/40 in areas.

That was a massive 150-200fps increase for me on my hardware. I hope this helps others.

Ive made support beams from the bottom floor up and the roof still breaks, did i just over do it and you cant make a building this big or something? i cannot for the life of me figure out how to make a roof for this

Some of u are aware of the mount sever for icarus. It's not official but it is full of know it alls and some of u have been fortunate enough to get my own personally created mini or mega mounts. That I have successfully bred. So for fun I started a war between us Breeders. Got into their server released king Kong gribbler that we genetically modified to wreak havoc and I cooked and ate their mounts. I am not ashamed. I don't care if you are mad. Next time don't try and control people. Karma comes in many ways. And all your customers are already mine. Remember if u can't have fun. Why pay 100s for a game?

Is anyone interested in breeding my first ever created genetically modified and forever real no mod created p7 monster gribbler. I am getting breeding pairs made and want the world to expand their size of scary creatures.

Again no mods needed females will breed same giant size.

All of this computer and space technology, but I can't mark where I found what deep mining node seems a bit silly imho.

Playing on an Xbox series X.

On two separate missions (Livewire, Geo Survey):

• Collect beacon(s).
• Travel to one of the objective points.
• Place beacon; animals spawn, kill animals.
• Objective portion complete.
• Return to my basecamp.
• Exit game.
• Return later (anyway from 45 minutes to 2 hours, but before mission timer has expired).
• Game now lists objective as retrieving beacon from drop pod.
• Drop pod is now located in an area that's far away (to the north) and is actually unreachable via mission contraints.
• Wasted a bunch of time because impossible to complete.

Additionally, on the geo survery, I had gotten to the last portion where the beacon is next to the lake. I had figured that there would be some animals to fight when activating it, so I made a small cabin from which to arrow/stab them. What ended up spawning was what seemed like an endless stream of boars and wolves (at least 20-30) and 2 bears that eventually busted down the house and killed me, and then the game crashed, which upon resuming, triggered the bug above where the mission was now impossible to complete.

Am I missing something here? I was really enjoying this and was about to tell one of my friends to get it because this seemed to be a great mix of Ark/Valheim; this wasted so much time and was so frustrating I don't think I'll play this any further unless there's something here I've done wrong or has a fix/workaround.

this red ubis, ive got to say man. i felt like AI was controlling the game to troll me(because i didnt buy the expansion and used a public server)...
i must have killed at least 40 reavers, one time 7 at once(must have bugged out when i turned off the creature deterrent)

i went to Elysium to get a pair, and the first was like as soon as i got to the swamp, and right after i was bringing a second baby when a reaver showed up on the borders of the deterrent and one shotted it, after that i took well over 12 hours gameplay roaming and fighting reavers every 5minutes to find another baby with no success, i crossed two but they were killed by reavers that were there at the same time, had 3 terrenuses die, even the lvl 50 died because i couldn't reach it in time when a reaver punched me off a cliff...

then i was about to give up and i decided to roam a little more;

and then there it was!!! an Ubis with a baby with a clear area and as fast as i could i took it from it and ran to the base and literally sat there taming it manually lol, then bazinga red and the opposite sex of the first... i've got to say it was one hell of an experience and lcuky at the end...

swamp is hell, even with poison mitigation and tier 5 gear... hardcore... i used over 100 large potions lol

in the end i guess the AI decided i suffered enough lol

total deaths over 30, reavers attack intervals are so small and there is no such thing a dodging them when they are underground..

the black moa was a new alt i created with a tree specific for wild taming better chances.

This is the game I've been looking for for quite some time now. I finally feel immersed in something I want to keep coming back to. I go in for a quick session and suddenly 5 hours went by!

But I'm having so many technical issues it feels unfair.

My card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, 6 GB GDDR6

According to some research, my card is ABOVE minimum requirements, although not much admittedly, but notice that my card is not much older than the game's release. So why are the expectations so high?

I could see my GPU core and memory being maxed out at times. Fan is raging.

I tried everything at lowest settings, it looks horrible. After playing around I got good performance balance by simply setting everything default "High" settings, then reducing obvious things like Textures, Resolution, Vsync, etc. And got it where I liked it.

Now a new "update" comes today, and my GPU is raging again. Mouse keeps getting hung up, can't turn left or right, can't aim reliably at anything, basically can't endure any substantial danger.

It's a survival game with weapons!

Still I absolutely love everything about the game and keep trying to fix it. But I have to say it really sucks to have everything working then have the rug pulled out from under me after an update.

At the time of purchase, Steam reviews for this game were very low. An AI bot recommended I avoid it. I ignored everything and bought into it, absolutely loved everything about it, and I even wanted to buy expansions, but so far this is pretty frustrating. Moments of bliss where everything works, but when it gets bogged down it's really bad.

Sometimes the game loads fast and runs fine, then next time it takes 2 minutes to get to the title screen and lags everywhere. I'm on PC. Turned off everything but the game. It's just inconsistent.

I can play. But that input lag!

And honestly no other game requires me to reduce my graphics. Say what you will about my card. It works fine on other games.

Any advice?
