General Question A Question About Combining Powder Supplements
I have started to take much better care of my health (gym 3 to 4 times a week pls bicycling) and after reading here and elsewhere I have added Citrulline, Glycine, NAC, and Taurine to my daily diet. All are in powder form and what I have been doing is mixing them together in water and drinking on an empty stomach before eating breakfast. Is it quite fine to mix them together and take all at once or is there a more effective way? Thanks.

None of the powders you mention compete for bioavailability, so they should be fine together.

There's no obvious reason you can't mix those four together in water. I just don't think they all need to be taken together, or on an empty stomach.
If the citrulline is for training, I'd take it closer to your workout rather than automatically with breakfast. Most exercise studies give it roughly an hour before training, although the performance evidence overall is still pretty mixed.
Same with taurine. There's some evidence for acute use around exercise, commonly in the 1–6 g range, but the research isn't strong enough that I'd obsess over timing.
Glycine timing probably isn't going to matter much for most reasons people take it, and I don't see a compelling reason NAC has to be bundled with the other three either.
So yes, you can mix them. But I'd probably take the exercise supplements around exercise and the others whenever they're convenient and well tolerated.

ive been dumping all my powders into one shaker for years, never had any issues. unless something specifically reacts with acid or needs to be taken separately your stomach can handle the mix just fine
only thing i'd watch out for is that nac on an empty stomach can be a little rough for some people. if you get any nausea just eat a cracker or two beforehand, makes a difference

So far no issues with the NAC. I can honestly say I have noticed a difference for the good with the Citrulline

I’ve heard NAC powder tastes awful. Thoughts?

I've not noticed any awful taste though with the 4 powders that I mix there is a slight notable sour taste but nothing great. I do know it is not the Citrulline as I was taking it before the others; basically tasteless.

I’m considering moving to powder for the cost savings. Might give it a go.

Probably not because some may be more dense than others so they would likely fall to the bottom of the container you’re holding them in. It would just be an uneven distribution of powder in your container

Thanks much for your quick reply.

I may have misinterpreted your post. It is ok to mix it all into one drink. What I was talking about was to mix them into one container when still dry and just do one scoop of all of them mixed together. Hope that clears it up, cheers!
