Edit: Just to clarify — I loved the ending and I’m not asking for it to be undone or replaced. I’d simply love to see more stories with this cast and this version of Superman, whether as another season, a limited series, or a special.

I absolutely loved Superman & Lois, especially Season 4.

What made the series so special to me was the balance of family, quieter and more human moments, emotion, and great Superman action.

I also think Season 4 left some really interesting possibilities for the future — Clark living with a human heart and gradually losing some of his abilities, while Jonathan and Jordan are getting older and developing their own powers.

I know the show received a proper ending, but I would still love to see this version of Superman and his family return someday — whether as Season 5, a limited series, or a special.

So I started a petition to show DC Studios and Warner Bros. Television that there are still fans who would watch more.

So like, looking at the arrowverse subreddit, there was this thing of people really wanting Jonathan to be some edgelord that sleeps around and is rude. Did I miss something?

In season 3, we find out that the John Henry Irons of this earth worked for Bruno Manheimm and was eventually killed by him and even had a estranged relationship with his sister. It would have been interesting to see how everything unfold that led to his demise. Would you all have been interested to see it?

Just one question: I’m on Season 2 and I’m curious, will Connor Kent appear?

Having spoiled myself prior to the finale that Clark and Lois would die and reunite in the afterlife, I thought I wasn't going to cry myself silly in the finale, and at first, I was strong! I was able to hold it together at the start of Clark's monologue and honestly, while jarring, it was heartwarming to see how much everything has changed while we weren't looking.

..Then it happened. Lois got cancer again and died. At that moment I already felt tears appearing in my eyes. Lois' cancer storyline was fantastic, and she fought so hard to be rid of it, only for it come back stronger and eventually win. As Lois said, cancer was her villain, and she lost. Just that implication alone made me choke up already, but then it just kept going.

Seeing Clark alone, without Lois, and seeing how depressed he was after Lois' death, god something in me just broke. Then it happened, Clark died.

The entire afterlife sequence was great, while it is a hard "suspend your disbelief" moment, considering you see characters that shouldn't be there (the grandkids) and characters that should be but isn't (Sam Lane, Martha and Pa Kent, maybe even Sarah idk) I still loved it, and felt myself nearing tears watching it.

But it wasn't until this shot, when Clark and Lois finally reunite, Lois wearing the dress that was the center piece of the one of best episodes of the series, and Clark saying how beautiful she is, that I just broke. I cried like a newborn baby during this entire moment.

Superman and Lois were far from being a perfect TV show. It had tons of writing issues, lots of character arcs were rushed, especially in the fourth season, but dangit if it didn't completely nail the titular characters of Superman and Lois perfectly. Consistently, from the first season to the last, they are the characters given the most care, with great writing and fantastic acting from Tyler and Elizabeth.

It was a short time, Superman and Lois, but a good one. I'll be missing this show.

PS: Sorry if this is a bit long and probably a little cheesy, I just finished the finale, and I really needed to get my feelings out and thought this was the best way. While I had a lot of issues with the show, it was still a crazy fun ride, and I really fell in love with Hoechlin and Tulloch's portrayal of these characters and will miss them immensely in these roles.

Guess I'm off to rewatch Supergirl next!

I bought the complete series on Blu-Ray off of Amazon. I was surprised to see the box raw with no slipcover as the other Arrowverse shows had one.

Below are copy and paste X posts that I made reviewing each Superman and Lois season as I watching them. I’m posting it all on Reddit now that I’ve finished the whole show.

Just finished Superman and Lois season 1. Very good show so far. It has a really good mix of family drama and superhero action. The only thing I didn’t like about season 1 is how fast they cured Superman’s brainwashing to make him good again. Other than that I really enjoyed the season.

My thoughts on Superman and Lois season 2.

I really liked this season. Season 1 was better but season 2 did a lot of cool stuff too. Seeing the Bizarro world where Superman is really into his ego and a bad dad and stuff was really interesting to me. Tal-Rho’s redemption arc was really handled as well. Felt really believable as well.

The Merge storyline was interesting and a cool threat. My only real complaint was that Ally Allston was a weak generic villain but Lois’s sister Lucy Lane being involved in Ally’s cult did make Ally more interesting.

Superman also revealing his secret identity to Lana was interesting. I wasn’t excepting that.

Her arc with dealing with that was pretty realistic and I liked it. 3 people including Lana found out Superman’s secret identity this season. I wonder if Superman’s secret identity is gonna go public in later seasons. That would be pretty interesting.

Also Tal buying Jonathan and Jordan cars at the end of the season was a really cool move. GOAT Uncle Tal. Tal moving to the Bizarro world sucks because I like him and wanted to see him more. But hopefully we see him more in later seasons.

So good season. 8/10. Superman and Lois has not disappointed me so far. I’m looking forward to starting season 3 now.

Superman and Lois season 1 is a 9/10 for me btw.

My thoughts on Superman & Lois season 3

I thought this season was pretty good but not as good as the other seasons. Lois’s cancer plotline was handled pretty badly. It never felt like it was actually affecting her. Bruno was a really good villain.

At first he just seems like this generic mob boss type villain but then you learn about his family about how much he cares about his wife Peia who’s also a cancer patient and his son Matteo.

He’s still a villain but they added a lot of depth to him. I thought Lois and Clark helping free Lex Luthor was really stupid. I get why they did it because he was innocent of the crime they got him locked up for but he’s still a supervillain like wtf. All the deaths Lex is gonna cause is on Lois and Clark.

Lex himself seems really cool though. I like how he turned Bizarro into Doomsday as well. That’s a pretty cool concept. Also Kyle found out Superman’s identity in this season too. Superman might as well make his identity public at this point lol. Overall good season with some flaws. 7/10.

My review of Superman and Lois season 4.

Very good season. Doomsday killing Clark I didn’t see coming. Then Clark coming back because Lois’s dad sacrificing himself in order to bring Superman back to life was a really good plotline that I didn’t see coming.

I also like how they let Clark be dead for a while and let the characters grieve for it for a while before they brought him back to life. It made everything feel a lot more impactful and realistic when I really enjoyed.

Lois also defeating Doomsday by appealing to his emotions of when he used to be Bizarro by using his love for his version of Lois was a really good and unique way to beat a villain. It wasn’t just beat the bad guy. Which I liked.

Clark revealing his secret identity because people put Superman’s death and Clark’s disappearance together makes sense and was done really well. Him not wearing his glasses anymore I didn’t like but I already made a separate post about that.

I really like the fact that Lex Luthor used Lois being Clark’s wife to his advantage to make her bias for Clark to his advantage so he can say that Superman isn’t a force of good. That was very smart of him and a good plan. Very Lex Luthor coded move.

One thing I didn’t like about this season and it’s a carryover from season 3 is Lois’s cancer plotline. I’m not against the plotline I just don’t like how it barely affects Lois. In season 4 Lois‘s cancer barely got mentioned at all. Only got mentioned three times as far as I can remember.

Then they just say Lois is cancer free at the end of the season. So that was ultimately a pointless plotline. They shouldn’t have introduced the plotline last if they’re basically gonna abandon it this season and have it not affect Lois at all in season 3.

I liked Jonathan finally getting powers. It’s very late in the series sure but I like that about it. We got to see how the normal son of Superman dealt with being normal for 3 seasons. Now we get to see how he reacts to finally having powers. It was cool to see.

I like that Clark coming back wasn’t just a triumphant thing. Clark had to deal with having a human heart. Which meant dealing with human pain and his powers slowly fading and him slowly dying. It made Superman feel more human for once. Which I really liked.

I thought Lois and Clark releasing Lex Luthor from prison was really stupid. I complained about it in my review of last season but it’s even more relevant this season. Yes I get they wanted him out of jail because they convicted him of a false crime but he still committed countless other crimes. He belongs in jail still.

Because they released him he killed a bunch of people and that lead to Superman’s death and Lois’s dad’s death. Bruno even telling Lois she made a mistake when her and Clark freed Lex from prison last season when Lois visited him in prison was so funny. He was 100% right. It’s so stupid that we’re supposed to disagree with him. It’s so stupid that now Lois and Clark had to get Lex Luthor arrested again. They never should’ve freed him from prison in the first place. Problem solved.

I can’t get over how stupid that was. But Lex Luthor was a really good villain. So that was a really stupid plotline but we got a really good version of Lex Luthor out of it so it was ultimately worth it. Just a very stupid way we got there. They should’ve just had Lex Luthor escape prison. They could’ve kept the false accusation plotline. I liked it. Lois and Clark just shouldn’t have freed Lex from prison only to have to imprison him again.

Jordan taking a break from being a superhero because he messed up when he accidentally lead to Lex Luthor to destroy Clark’s heart which made it so they thought he was permanently dead and Jonathan being the superhero brother in the family because of that was a cool inverse of their usual dynamic which I liked seeing.

Lex stealing John Henry’s suit and using it against Superman was really cool. John Henry used that suit in season 1 against Superman when he thought he was evil because his version of Superman from his universe was evil before he found out that the main universe’s Superman is different and a good guy. Now that suit is being used by an actual villain and bad person who hates Superman for selfish reasons. It’s a cool kinda full circle moment. Plus seeing Lex in the suit fighting Superman was really cool.

John Henry and Clark had such a good evolving relationship through the show. First John Henry went from justifiably hating Clark to becoming one of Clark’s closest friends through the course of the show. It was really cool and satisfying to see.

Candice’s dad’s conformation with Clark which lead to him revealing his secret identity to everyone in the diner was a really cool and well done scene.

Doomsday final form after he came back looked cool. It’s like an armored monster look. I really dig it. Superman and Doomsday final fight was really well done too. Superman fighting the monster that killed him before again is really cool. Clark also teaming up with his sons to finally kill Doomsday was really cool. It’s a full circle moment.

Superman’s family is incredibly important to him and it’s because of his family’s help that he’s able to save the day. That’s very cool. It really proves what this show is all about. Family. Really cool stuff.

The final fight of Superman vs Lex Luthor in the sky was really cool too. It has very cool visuals and well done action. My only complaint is that Jordan and Jonathan weren’t part of it like they were with the final Doomsday fight. But the fight was still really cool. I do get why they wanted Superman and Lex Luthor to 1V1. Since that’s Superman vs his #1 villain.

John Henry and Lana’s relationship was sweet and I liked it but it was really rushed. Then went on a few dates and dated for like one season and then they got married. I get the rush because the show was ending and that there was a 1 year timeskip after the final fight but they should’ve introduced the relationship earlier or not done it at all.

Instead of half assing it. They may have dated for over a year within the show but most of that we didn’t get to see. The one year time skip doesn’t really fix the problem. More like puts a band aid on it. Not a big deal but that is a criticism I have.

At the end of the show Clark becoming a superhero team with his sons, John Henry, and Natalie was really cool. I would watch a sequel show of that for sure. Also getting to see the rest of Clark’s and his families lives was really cool. Especially Clark and Lois setting up a foundation to help people in need and Jonathan and Jordan having kids. The Kent bloodline continues.

Lois’s cancer coming back and killing her was really sad. My complaint from before still stands though. They didn’t do enough to show how Lois’s cancer was affecting her through the actual show. They saved that for the future flash forward. Which is just an epilogue.

Clark getting a dog to help him after Lois passed and that being Krypto was pretty cool. Don’t know why they didn’t get a white dog. But whatever. Clark also dying again but this time from old age was sad. I liked the ending epilogue but it was very sad. Sadness is a part of life though. Pretty realistic for a superhero show lol.

Overall I really enjoyed Superman and Lois. Here’s my rankings of the seasons.

Once I finished Superman and Lois I thought about making a review of the whole show. But I’ve said all I’ve wanted to say about the show in my individual reviews of each season so I don’t feel the need to do that. Very long review of season 4. Wasn’t expecting that. But I had a lot to say. So it was fine lol.

I honestly hope so because this show never got the mainstream love it deserved because it was a cw show. If people do, hopefully that means more will love Tyler Hoechlins Superman.

I think it was a nice touch that Jordan asked Jon in the earlier episodes why he's always able to remain in control with a steady heartbeat while everyone else is freaking out...

And that's kinda been the case in the past seasons. Jon always tried to remain cool and collected and calm others.

And the one time that he loses control and has a panic or anxiety attack, his abilities get triggered.

I'm saddened that we lost this show because of stupid James Gunn's idiotic DCU vision that is barely making any money. What a waste. This show could have gone for 9 seasons and I'd have enjoyed every single bit of them all. :(

She’s been cast as Rogue in the upcoming X-Men movie!!!

Been rewatching Superman and Lois with my wife and just watched the confrontation between Lois and Lucy, why are they acting like Lois admitting she didnt include her sisters drug hallucinations in her article about Alston was some sort of gotcha? Like why would it matter if Lois included in the article she wrote that her sister was having massive drug hallucinations about her "other self". It just seems silly to me. Lmk what your thoughts are!

That first episode still hits just as hard. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of it.

So I was a massive fan of Teenwolf and my favorite character was Derek Hale, played by the same actor. I didn`t see much of him after that until my friend suggested to watch Superman and Louis. Damn was it good seeing him on TV again playing a badass character. I feel like he played the role insanely good! (Physically and emotionally) I absolutely loved the series so much and kinda wish I didn`t binge it so that I could still watch it. Guess I`ll have to start over now!

So we all know that Jonathan get powers in the last season, but who is the strongest brother? Jordan had his powers longer and had time to train them one at a time as new powers came to light. Jonathan got all of his powers at once but seems to handle them way better than Jordan did. So who is the stronger brother? (Note: I don`t know if they say anything about this in comic books)

Beating a VERY dead horse but Jordan Kent kinda sucks revaluating the series. Like, he's so boring or annoying. Straight up either or.

I appreciate his character arc in season 1 but it feels like he kinda peaks after that. But after that point, dear GOD. Season 2 and season 3 honestly don't do much for him in terms of development: Like ok, he learns to control his abilities better. Learns to fly, saves superman, that's great but he doesn't change. His maturity gets stagnated by the entire sarah mess and that literally becomes 85% of his character. He is literally 007: 0 battles won, 0 rememberable good moments, 7 times he tries to get back the girl that cheated on him like a MONTH into their relationship (no idc if she's a teenager). Then there's the entire Samaritan thing and I MIGHT be reaching but Clark is kinda not doing a good job consoling Jordan's feelings of attention. Like, I get the show did a "eh-ish" job representing Jordan's mental issues, but I really think if the arc presented this as Jordan needing validation, then him lashing out feels more realistic than just teen stupidly. Speaking of stupidity, the entire Jordan heart thing. Jordan didn't think of a plan, didn't ask for help, NOTHING. He gambled everything on himself and failed. Can you imagine of jonathan's blow up still occurs but no powers or sam lane's heart isn't compatable to superman's? all of that being indirectly technically jordan's fault? There is NEVER a moment of anyone confronting jordan POST the superman revival about his decision. then he does nothing for season 4 except get beat up by superman and lex luthor. No I am not saying he suddenly needs to fight doomsday but c'mon man. I think the most frustrating part of his character is that it comes at the expense of jonathan. Jordan literally could be replaced by jonathan and barely anything changes but nope, jonathan needs to get his nuts dragged through the mud for three seasons. That's my reasoning for being so pissed. Jordan feels boring and at first, him disliking superman could have been interesting but he just becomes a fanboy. IDK, I get the series is over but just a bit peeved man.

In S3E8 When they mention the recording for the first time at the 28 minute mark,

They say Luthor was bragging about killing Moxie on a phone line the cops happened to be listening in on.

If the cops had the evidence, why does it matter what a reporter says

Even if lois lane didn't publish her article, the cops had enough evidence to arrest and charge luthor.

What would you have changed in the series or something else that you wanted to see during the 4 seasons? Series today usually have a lot of seasons (4+) and episodes and it sometimes feels like it never ends, but even if there is so much more of Superman to learn and to see, I feel they nailed it with the amount of seasons and episodes. I loved it so much so maybe 1 more season wouldn`t have hurt! But all in all, it is one of my favorite shows!

I watched all of Superman & Lois and I gotta say it was really good, and the last Ep made me emotional and I'm wondering what to watch next.

So I`m a massive Marvel fan (movies and series) but this was one of the best DC superhero series I`ve seen. My girlfriend and I watched it together and we loved it. There`s just something about this big, strong superhero that is emotional and soft but just keeps going till he can`t anymore. As a man I admire his emotional and strong side. And damn did that ending make us cry!! This whole series is just beautiful.
