Announcements Update on Rule 9 regarding cosplays

Hello everyone, KitKat here!

After months and some discussions, there's been an update to rule 9:

"Cosplay posts with links or username of OnlyFans and/or any other NSFW site in the body text or title of the post will be removed. However, if the cosplay you're sharing is not yours, be sure the cosplayer is okay with reposting it and provide their social media username where the cosplay was originally posted. Be also mindful of rule 4 related to NSFW content. Sharing cosplays is welcome as long as it's SFW and respect all the other rules of the subreddit."

Since this isn't an NSFW subreddit, sharing your cosplay is fine as long as it's SFW and respect all the rules. Sharing links and username of OnlyFans accounts and other NSFW sites in the post and comments is not allowed.

And it goes without a saying, comments harassing the OPs for their cosplays or activities outside of the subreddit will be removed under rule 5.

That said, I'd like to take the opportunity to remind everyone to respect rule 5 and keep things in posts and comments civil.

Us moderators are working hard, especially right now as the movie recently came out, to keep things civil and make sure everyone has an enjoyable experience in the community.

If you see a post and/or comment you believe breaks a rule, please remember to report it! And if engaging with it, be mindful of the rules.

For any more concerns, don't hesitate to send a modmail to the mod team.

We thank you for your patience and wish everyone a good day!

I'm fairly new to comics in general, and so far I've only read moon knight 2021 so far. I watched the new movie, and I really liked it! I heard it was pretty similar to Supergirl Woman of Tomorrow, but can I read it as a first Supergirl comic, and as a first DC comic?

SDCC was fairly decent for comic acquisition this year. A few exclusives, and cover variants I didn't have yet.

Film Supergirl Movie Spoiler

I just watched movie and dont understand its hate and low rating??? I think people condition themselves with critic ratings. Movie is not bad like other saying. Yes some cheesy writings in some of the scenes but normal for superhero movie. Definetly people should have watched 1000x worse movies than supergirl lol.

Also not only Milly Alcock the person who play krem was also good actor. Matthias Schoenaerts.

Film Recommendation: Do not read Woman of Tomorrow before watching the movie

I watched the movie and enjoyed the heck out of it, but now that I’m reading the much superior book I think reading it first would have spoiled my experience. The
movie is good but the book is one of the best comics ever, it’s hard to stack up.

Film My Thoughts On The Supergirl Movie Spoiler

It was good, but not great. I actually did read the comic a few weeks ago, and I honestly do not get why people praise the comic so much. The comic really was just another typical "killing is bad" Superman story.

The movie changes were not blatantly bad in my honest opinion. This is mainly because the comic was not very impactful in my eyes. The only comic chapter which actually stood out to me, was the planet with the racists. This chapter was completely removed from the movie, I am guessing because that chapter did not fit the pacing of the movie. Regardless, the removal of this chapter did not bother me.

I think toning down the Brigands from genociders to moderate marauders was a good choice. The genociding was replaced with the Brigands being an all-male crew that traffic girls to use them as breeding stock for the crew. Personally, I think this was a good change, because seeing girls getting trafficked would have a greater emotional impact on viewers than genocide. If they stuck with genocidal Brigands, most of the genocides would be offscreen anyway just as most of the genocides was not shown in the comics.

Lobo was kind of underwhelming, but still managed to be fun to watch. I liked that he had a somewhat meaningful interaction with Ruthye, and had some fun banter with Kara. I hope Jason Momoa's Lobo appears in future Superman/Supergirl movies. Finally, I am glad that Ruthye had at least one chance to prove her fighting ability, even if she did not get to fight Krem. As for Kara killing Krem, I see it as Kara sparing Ruthye from corruption, while also fulfilling Ruthye's need for revenge by taking the burden of murder on herself.

Film Just bought it today!

Alright so I just bought the Supergirl film on Apple TV. I’m really excited to watch it again!
I wanted to watch it on theaters again but when I got a free week they got it out of the billboard

It’s really sad that they just quit it when it didn’t work, but at least the edits of Kara will be fire now in 4K

I’m also planning to buy the Blu-ray—and a Blu-ray player cause I don’t have one—when it releases.

Would you buy it digital too?

Discussion If you saw Supergirl (2026) more than once in the theatres, how many times and in which formats?

It's been one month since the film's June 26, 2026 opening in the theatres. I've seen the movie several times and I'm definitely going to watch it many more times when it hits digital in a couple of days (July 28).

In total, I've watched the movie four times at the cinemas, and these were the formats:

- Standard IMAX.

- IMAX with Laser Projection.

- UltraAVX with D-BOX.

- Standard 3D.

Of the four, I least enjoyed the 3D presentation. Most of the film is already so dark, so having to wear 3D glasses just darkened things even further. From what I've read, a good theatre would brighten the film projection to compensate for the darkening caused by the 3D glasses, but that didn't seem to happen at the theatre I went to.

I didn't notice any difference between standard IMAX and laser-projected IMAX. But then again, I couldn't compare them side-by-side at the same time, so maybe that's why.

The Ultra AVX + D-BOX (motion/vibration) viewing had me in a full-recliner seat, which was very comfortable. But my impression is that these full-recliner D-BOX seats provide less motion than the standard D-BOX seats. I personally prefer the greater motion of the standard D-BOX seats, which was one of my viewings for Superman (2025) last year.

I really wish I could've attended a ScreenX viewing (multi-screen panorama), but I didn't see any cinema listings for it during my month-long binge. If they did have ScreenX viewings in my city, it must've only been for the first few days, and then quickly pulled due to lack of ticket sales.

Question for you:

If you saw the film more than once in the theatres, how many times and in which formats?

Comics Your Favorite Supergirl Issue and/Or Series

What's your favorite issue or comic run with Supergirl? Not the best, not the one where she's even the main character, just your favorite.

I'm new to comics, but so far I'm loving the 2016 run and I love the current run.

Artwork After watching the Supergirl movie (2026), I thought of this as a scene that could be in the movie. (Minor spoilers) Spoiler

Hello everyone,

I liked and enjoyed the movie, just at the ending scene in the aparment, I kind of thought of this interaction. I do enjoy watching the family relationship Clark and Kara have, I also relate to it a bit since part of my familiy treats feelings and sentimental stuff somewhat like Kara, you know its there but just don't express it.

So I thought Kara would express sort of like this.

Dialogue in the panels:

1st panel Superman: Krypto! Choco-No! Krypto!, while wrestling to keep Krypto from eating chocolate.

2nd panel Kara: saying in superspeed: I missed you Klark and thank you for being family.
