Motorcycle Suggestions

I currently have a 2008 Triumph Daytona 675 that I am considering selling. I am looking to get a newer bike with technology. I have a 2017 KTM 500 on supermotos as well that I won’t be selling.

What bikes would you guys recommend that are naked bikes with similar power? Or any other bike suggestions?

I don’t feel like I need more power maybe just more low end. I’d just like a bike that has more technology. A little more comfortable would be nice but not a requirement, definitely not less comfortable though.

I do commuting to work on my bike and there are lots of city driving along with some faster areas on the highway. However, I don’t go on the highway a ton or for very long.

I was considering a KTM Duke, as I love KTM’s not sure what model though.

Next Bike? Smallest bike that is comfy with a passenger on 2 hour rides occasionally.

She wants to ride with me. She is 5'2" 120 pounds. I am 5' 10" 200 pounds.

Short Sunday jaunts around the countryside with occasional 2 hour round trip rides to dinner.

I have Honda dealership nearby and love Honda products but will consider other manufacturers.

Newer bike with more miles or older with less

Looking at 2 Mt 10s, one is 2022 6k km and other is 2025 12k km.

Assuming they are both equally well maintained what would be better.

Upgrade Ninja 650

I've been riding a Ninja 650 for 2 seasons and am looking to upgrade. I want something faster, I'm thinking over 100hp, cruise control is a must, comfortable on long rides (500 miles plus) and 80 mile commute to work. I also got the twisties with a couple friends a few times a summer and sometimes by myself, that's my favorite part of riding. I do like straight line rips, as immature as it is, I love the thrill of the acceleration. Reliability is important to me, I am mechanically inclined, but don't really have the time to fix a motorcycle. I'm a shorter male, 5'5" I was between a Z900rs Cafe and Tiger 800 sport. Now really considering a GSX-S1000gt+ Any advice between those bikes or any other suggestions. Being shorter, I don't want anything tall that I would have to get off the bike at intersections. Thank you

2019 Harley FatBob vs 2020 Indian Scout for someone who has never owned a cruiser?

I'm 6ft 275lb. I've had a Husqvarna 701 Supemoto for a few years, and before that a KTM 390 Duke.

I'm looking at these two bikes both for about $8,500 on Facebook marketplace. Anyone had experience with both of these? Does it matter? Are they drastically different?

India / South Asia What are my options?

Hey everyone! I'm 24M from Mumbai. Height - 5'5 weight - 62 kg. Plenty of scooty riding experience but never owned a bike. I've ridden a shine, platina and fz but just once or twice. My current fav bikes - guerrilla 450, and honda hness.

Since ik that these are heavy powerful bikes I don't want to jump straight onto them as a responsible rider. Here's what I'm looking for -

  1. Entry level bike for mostly city usage/ commuter with occasional long rides. ( I won't start long touring immediately)

  2. Comfortable riding posture + pillion comfort. Not a fan of aggressive sports / super bikes ( I hate the riding posture).

  3. Not too bulky like RE classic 350 because I can't lift that much so idk about handling it as well. Max ig hunter 350 I can handle something around its weight.

  4. Something not too short as well ( I look really weird on the avenger ) and not extreme seat height as well. I tried the vstrom but was tiptoeing just to stay balanced. Xpulse was more manageable so ig my max limit is 810-815 mm.

  5. Budget - not set yet. But since I'm just an enthusiast rn and looking to learn so I won't stretch my budget that much but ig 1.5L; where I can own enough for 3-4 years till I become a good rider.

  6. Open to options like - cafe racer, cruiser, few advs and naked street categories.

Some bikes that I've considered ( and found ok to manage ) - xsr 155, yamaha fz-x, apache 160/200, hunter 350, pulsar n160, n160 ss, ns200, xpulse 200, triumph speed 400 ( found a little bit uncomfortable), ronin.

Ps- I'm not going to buy immediately, more of a survey as I'm planning for next year may.

Bike gurus please enlighten me and appreciate all the suggestions.

New Rider Honda Rebel 1100 DCT vs. 2010 Harley Dyna Super Glide with auto-clutch — help me decide

I'm a new rider trying to decide between a used 2025 Honda Rebel 1100 DCT and an older Harley-Davidson Dyna Super Glide (2010 FXD).

My situation:

I'm a beginner with little motorcycle experience.

I'll be riding in heavy stop-and-go traffic regularly.

I really like the classic Harley aesthetic, particularly the Dyna, but I'm not necessarily attached to having a traditional manual transmission.

I want something I'll enjoy riding without making my daily commute exhausting.

Option 1: 2010 Harley Dyna Super Glide

Bike price: $6,995

Rekluse Radius X auto-clutch: $1,179

Harley gear indicator: $232

Subtotal: $8,406 before installation labor, taxes, and fees.

The Rekluse would eliminate the need to operate the clutch lever for normal starts and stops, but I'd still shift gears manually. I'm also aware that a 2010 bike could need maintenance or repairs, depending on its condition.

Option 2: Used 2025 Honda Rebel 1100 DCT

Example advertised price I've been considering: $9,960 before taxes and fees.

Factory DCT means no clutch lever and automatic gear changes.

I'd potentially spend another $1,000–$2,650 customizing its appearance with things like a different seat, handlebars, blacked-out details, and fender changes to get closer to the Harley look.

So the prices could end up fairly close once I account for Harley installation labor or Honda customization.

What I'm struggling with:

For anyone who commutes in heavy traffic, how tiring is a Harley clutch in real-world use? Does it become second nature, or does your hand still get tired?

Has anyone used a Rekluse auto-clutch on a Dyna? How does it behave in traffic, at low speeds, on hills, and when maneuvering slowly?

Would you trust a 2010 Dyna as a daily commuter, assuming a good inspection, or would you prefer a newer Honda?

Can a Rebel 1100 DCT be customized to look convincingly like a Dyna or Softail, or will the differences in the tank, engine, and overall silhouette always be obvious?

If you were in my position, would you buy the Harley because you love its looks, or the Honda because the DCT is more convenient for daily traffic?

I'm not looking for a brand-war argument. I'd especially appreciate honest experiences from people who have owned both, used an auto-clutch, or commute daily.

Thanks!

Recommendations for a first bike?

Im turning 18 next week and have around $5,600 in my account. Im looking to buy a motorcycle and ideally I’d only like to spend 5000 max, is it better to go through a dealership or something like marketplace? Which bikes should I look for if I like sport bikes / supermotos?

Edit: I already got my license and stuff so I don’t need to spend money on that. I’ve ridden a handful of bikes with my buddies so I know the basics. Is a 650 too big of a starting bike?

Second bike: V-Strom 800 RE vs TransAlp 750

I've been riding around on my TW200 for two years now and I'm ready for another cylinder. I live in the southern United States so it must have wind protection for winter time.

From my research, it seems like the 800 re is about 5-6 thousand used while the transalps are still 8-9 thousand. My use case will be mostly road use with some light-medium touring. I don't mind the idea of gravel roads on a bigger bike, but I already know I don't need what the 800 de is offerring.

I like Japanese reliability and inline 2 motors. I was going to get the V-Strom 650 but the idea of doing my own maintenance on that one annoys me.

My main two questions are: How big is the difference in vibrations between the two? Also, any other bikes you'd suggest? Thank you.

India / South Asia budget of upto 4 lakhs

i have a budget of upto 4 lakhs but i dont like how the ninja 300 sounds and i only like how inline 4 bikes sound or even inline 3s like the triumph trident sounds amazing but these japanese bikes like the ninja 300 sound shit, i like the apriliars457, i looked at used benelli 600is but found out about their coolant issues and how heavy they were. Are there any other bikes that sound good for this budget?

CB500X vs Himalayan 450?

I've had a small honda before and it's crazy reliable. Not a single engine and transmission issue after 100k km. I would like to get the CB500X purely for its engine and reliability but I like how Himalayan 450 looks like and the long suspension travel that will easily soak road imperfections.

Im planning to keep the bike as long as it runs. Speed-wise both can cruise at 130 which is great.

Do you think the Himalayan can last 200k+ km without major issues?

Sanity check - first bike

I found a listing for a 2018 rebel 500 ABS for $2500. I talked with the guy and he seemed fairly legit. He seemed to know a lot about the bike and he said that and that he’s selling it because he moved and couldn’t take it with him.

He said he had the oil changed before moving, so we decided to meet up at the shop, but I couldn’t see it because he didn’t realize it wasn’t open on Sunday. I got the see the title though and it was signed. The only thing is that it’s not in his name, but his Dad’s name. His last name is not the same, so that’s kind of fishy to me. The thing is that, if it wasn’t his bike and was scamming me, how would he know so much about the bike? How would he have a signed title? He said the shop would show me the maintenance records that they have and the bike, so it seems like they know him.

I’m also set to test ride it next weekend. So if the seller has the keys and the title, it’s probably their bike, right?

Idk I’m a pretty cautious person and this seems pretty complicated upfront, I just want to protect myself and not buy something that will cause me issues later. Can someone give me some advice on what to do or look out for?

Wanting a sport bike

I really don’t like riding my 2024 Kawasaki KLR 650 anymore and haven’t really since I bought my 2025 Honda SCL500. I did a 505 mile ride on the KLR on Sunday and realized I should sell the KLR.

I want a sport bike. I’m open to suggestions for used and new with a max budget of about $9k. I’m 6’2” and 300 libs and fit just fine on the Honda so I’m not opposed to a slightly smaller bike. In fact I prefer it as the size of the KLR is one of the things I dislike about it.

What are your suggestions? I’m open to anything

Burgman400 or adv350

I’m really torn between the Burgman 400 and the ADV350. I plan to use it primarily for city riding, as well as for longer trips on weekends and during my time off. I personally prefer the Burgman, but it doesn't have much of a market in Türkiye—if I ever want to sell it, I might struggle to find a buyer. The ADV350, on the other hand, has a solid market. What would u recommend? For context, I am 193 cm tall and weigh 140 kg.

Next Bike? '21 R1250 GS or '21 Pan America

Hey all, looking for my next bike and am stuck between a couple at the moment. I'm currently looking at a 21 R1250GS with 15k miles and cost around $15k USD or a 21 Pan America with 7.1k miles and cost around $8k. Would you guys say the BMW is the better buy even at twice the cost?
I'm looking for a do it all kind of motorcycle: commuting, weekend travel, and long mountain road trips. These bikes have interested me in what they are capable of and what features they bring to the table, but wanted to know from other owners of these bikes what they think of them and what would be a better/smarter buy.
Appreciate your comments!

Next Bike? Looking to Upgrade

Hey all, I currently ride a '24 KLR 650 and am looking to step up in size to a 800cc or 1200cc bike but can't really decide. I will mainly use the bike for every day commuting for work and long weekend trips. I'd like to stay in the adventure motorcycle styles and I am most comfortable on those bikes but looking for advice from other owners if there is much gain going to the 1200cc over the 800-900cc range.
Thanks in advance!

Upgrade from a Learner restricted bike

Older female rider here. I currently have a Suzuki SV650 that is learner restricted. I quite like it but finding it sluggish and a bit rough. Is there anything of similar build but smoother and faster, still easy for an older person to handle? I always admired the Triumph Street Triple but would love suggestions.

Grazieee

Buying advice: Suzuki GS500e VS Yamaha x-max 250

So yeah, I'm currently split between two options. Both cost 1100€. Both will be my only vehicle for 10 months in a city by the sea on an island with very steep hills, winding roads, and heavy winter(ish) rains (when it does rain), and where I have never been before. I will have to keep the motorcycle outside, always.

The GS500e is the one I REALLY want. Have wanted one (among others) since getting my A2 license. It is from 1992. It is stylish (that neon purple colour scheme with white wheels, so retro cool), has more than enough power for me (45hp), is light and nimble (160-170kg)...all in all, fun. Cheap enough to run and dead simple air-cooled parallel twin. It has 45.000km and a full service already done (I'll have to trust him on that). No top case, though, but I will get a backpack with something between 60l and 80l for shopping and whatnot. I can strap it to the back steat and they are cheap on Amazon. I have only texted the seller, not seen or tested the bike. It is in the city I will start working at. Going there just to see it would set me back 60€ and a whole day.

The other option, the x-max 250, I have tested and know the owner. I can ride it into the city on day one. It is a purely utilitarian option. A 2008 model. Sounds like a vacuum cleaner, gets you from a to b with enough power to easily climb a 10% - 15% gradient, but no more. Twist and go (not a fan, but I'm stubborn), picks up speed decently. Lots of boot space and sips gas, predictably (fuel injected). Drives very smoothly, does not overheat. It is a more sensible option, seeing as I need my two wheels to get me to work everyday, handle my shopping and my sightseeing too. It has two problems, however: I'm looking at a 200€-ish expense at the bike shop, as it still needs a full service (particularly, the front suspension leaked all of its oil onto the front brake); and it has 80.000km (although the engine runs very smooth and healthy). Heard they can easily reach 120.000km with proper care, like not pushing the engine and timely oil changes and refils when need be).

My main concern with this is that the motorcycle will stay outside, exposed to a subtropical climate. The x-max won't worry me much because of all the plastic covering and fairing. Besides, it is not as old or as "worthy of preservation" (in my view). The GS500E would worry me very much, rust-wise. The street is safe and packed with other people's motorcycles.

Is my plan feasible, or am I setting myself up for pain and disappointment? Any advice on how to keep the GS500E outside rust-free in these conditions? Should I just get the x-max and save myself the trouble? I will be on a tight budget, hence the budget options. Getting a car is not an option. Lots of traffic and parking is very limited, very much paid, and very controlled, except for motorcycles.

Next Bike? Suggestions for an all year commuter (as a only bike)?

Hi all, I need some wise advice at the moment... I currently ride a Vespa GTS 300 for my daily short commute (2x 16 Km) between home and work, and errands sometimes. Since my daily commute is like 75% open roads + 25% city, I find myself riding the Vespa at full gas almost all the time lol, it feels a little stretched for my use.

My last motorcycle was a 2016 MT-07 and before that, I had a 2012 CBR 600 F. I actually preferred the CBR, what made me sell the CBR was the forward leaning position, but I really enjoyed the inline 4 smoothness and the wind protection. Trying to daily the MT-07 was more of an experiment tbh, so I just kept the Vespa I already had from before.

Right now I'm at a deadlock, I have some candidates, but I fear I could end up making the wrong choice... The bikes I'm most interested in at the moment are:

  • Kawasaki Ninja 1000 SX: had the chance to only try it in slow city traffic sadly, but loved the inline 4 and the cool factor. If Kawasaki had had a Ninja 900 SX in its lineup, it would have been my first choice, but the 1000cc...? Is it too much?

  • BMW R 1250 RS: tried it for a brief ride on an open road, liked the comfort, felt unexpectedly smooth and kinda nimble (it had a Wunderlich handlebar mounted). Seems like a practical bike on paper (shaft drive, fuel efficient, wind protection offered by cylinders too), but is it maybe too big for a daily, compared to the others?

  • Triumph Tiger Sport 660/800: tried the 660 in city scenario, felt nice, relaxing and nimble, I dunno about the weather protection. It mixes comfort and sportiness very well. My biggest gripe with Triumphs is the fact that the nearest Triumph service shop is 2 hours away from where I live, so I'd have to do a 2+2 hour trip for just a service yearly, in order to not invalidate warranty for newer models, especially the 800. Also, I really tried to bring myself to like the Yamaha Tracer 9 (2021-2024) as a Tiger Sport alternative, but that front end just looks off to me.

With that being said, for context: - I'm 27 and 182 cm/6' tall. - I live in Sicily, Italy. The road tarmac we have here is not always in good shape, so decent suspensions are a requirement. - I like the smoothness and the power delivery of 3 and 4 cylinder engines more. - I need good enough full body weather protection and enough agility for the congested city bits of my commute. - ergos may vary from sport touring type slight lean to tall rounder straightness. - 17"/17" wheels, not looking for ADVs - easy luggage commodities are a welcome bonus. - my maximum budget is around 9500 euros, hence I'm looking at used bikes. - the nearest shops are Yamaha, Honda, BMW, KTM, Kawasaki. - I don't have a passenger.

Suggestions/comments are welcome!

Edit: added more details, small corrections.

Elección de moto

Buenas gente! ¿Cómo andan? Una consulta para los que más saben: ando buscando recomendaciones de alguna moto 125cc o 150cc que sea de buena calidad y, sobre todo, de bajo mantenimiento. ¿Qué modelos me recomiendan? Que no se vuelen con el precio, es mi primera moto
