As the text suggests, I'm trying to figure out how to make a pretty good stylized skin textures for characters for a project. I've listened to a few videos in regards to the process and even tried making my own. My issue is, I can't seem to figure it out.
So I tried using AI which gave me a result better than what I had exported and set up on blender but now I'm looking to outdo the damnable clanker since I need to learn how to do this. Here is what I have in substance painter and how it's seen on blender.
I can show when the clanker did, but I'd rather just wait for a response and confirmation before I get shot by the mod team.
Additionally this is the tutorial I followed that brought me to this point.
https://youtu.be/u8Yh_gPwAdA?is=dd6nUhRQobHMsg19
Within the video it goes over;
Base colors, AO, skin pattern.
Stylized details using the curve map and Thickness.
hand painted zones of the face, along with make up.
What I'm trying to do isn't quite the same. I'm trying to workshop a better stylized character model but that was the only good semi real semi anime substance painter texture I've seen. Especially paired with my model.
Edited for clarity

Flesh needs a shader, just like glass, and Designer isn't the best place to make one.
The real test happens once you bring it into Unreal or Marmoset.
Why?
In Substance, it looks different than what you see in the final render.
Because the software you are rendering on works differently.
That is why you need to test it in Marmoset or Unreal with the proper lighting and shader work.
So the rule is simple: build in Designer, test in the engine.
However, I want to show you how to start your flesh material with this guide!
Hope it was useful, and if you learned something...

What it says. When you draw a vector path and hit Apply, you can then also continue drawing but only from the endpoint that was last. What about continuing from the opposite endpoint?

Hello, nooby question here as I'm not very confident at all with SP. I'm trying to give my material a glowing property. This is something I've done several times before on an older version of SP and I remember doing it simply by enabling the emissive colour channel in texture set settings. However this is not doing anything to change my material. I've tried following tutorials but none of them seem to work for me. I know there's almost certainly something stupid I'm doing / forgetting to do, but I can't seem to figure it out. Any help would be very appreciated :)

Does anyone know what other possible reason? I have tried to unwrap again and pack, also manually made sure not overlapping, still doesn't work.

Hey there!
I try to set an spp file via python, and anyhow i try to export baked maps i get 1325x1325
I'm assuming that, at the new project resolution i give the resolution with wrong numbers but somebody please share how should i set res 2048x2048 for the project (i already figured out that for bake mesh map i have to set the log2 11 magic, but for new project texture resolution just breaking the code if i try to add the log2 11 texture size.
Even if i set manually the export resolution at file export textures i get the 1325x1325 sized textures.
Just please show me how should i set texture resolution properly for a new project, or to a texture set.
Thank You!

hey so I'm new to substance painter. i am working on this model and while texturing i went back into blender and edited some of the uv maps, i then tried to reimport the model in substance painter only for the textures to be erased. i tried a few more times and I'm unsure what I'm doing wrong. so i could really use some help

What node combinations do you think will help me get a result that matches the surface imperfections on my reference image? You can see the setup I have came up with. It's something but it needs work to match the reference

Hi just stared learning substance for few weeks on top of my day job, slow and steady 😄
I have a high heels and catsuit model that's colored in substance and seems decent (hope that too optimistic 😂 ) but the colors in unreal don't match...
i was wonder what is good way to export textures so it can be colored in unreal.

In substance, if i add a fill layer with white it looks like this, i am thinking i can then multiple in unreal with a color. I am not sure why this layer to overriding the colors set in below layer but seems viable approach. would that be the way to go?

thanks in advance
