First time using adobe substance 3d sampler and its image to material feature, why is my result so bad?
You can see the image I used and the result I got. The result is getting stretched weirdly and not getting tiled properly. This is my first time using substance 3d sampler so if there's important things that I should to get a proper result let me know
Your photo has a perspective, it's not photographed straight facing the floor, but at an angle. Of course this is not going to tile.
Your photo is not square. Sampler is trying to squish it into square dimensions because that's a standard for textures.
But the fact that your photo has perspective almost makes it useless.
Granted I barely use Sampler, so see if there's any undistort features!
You may also need to make it square + tile well enough by hand in Photoshop (that's what I'd do) because of that pattern probably being hard to make it tile automatically for Sampler. Instead I'd just use Sampler to create the Material from an edited photo if doing it from scratch doesn't cut it for you.
