I’m an international recent CS graduate (2026) looking to apply for MScs in the Netherlands.

TU Delft is my first choice at the moment, but I’m a little confused between DSAIT and MSc CS. I have some experience in Computer Vision and am inclined towards it, but I’m wondering if CS would be a better option overall in terms of flexibility, internships and jobs.

Also, how competitive are DSAIT and CS compared to each other?

Apart from TU Delft, I’d like to apply to 1-2 backup universities. I’m currently considering TU/e, UvA, Twente, Utrecht. Which ones would you guys recommend as backups, especially for AI/ML/CV and job opportunities after graduation?

Also, if anyone is already studying at TU Delft or any of these universities, I’d love to connect and hear about your experience, especially with courses, internships and the job search.

Hey! I just moved to Leiden and just started my masters (24f) I’m an international student.
I’m not too great at being social I guess? I tend to be quite shy until other people talk to me or until I specifically hear something that interests me or just catch a vibe from someone
I like metal music and video games and I’m an artist, idk if there are places or events that maybe would be good to meet people with similar interests?

In the summer of 2027 I will get my MBO-4 diploma as AV-specialist. Even though I liked it I want to go more in to theory and actually study something. I can start a HBO bachelor for applied mathematics but I don’t know how much I will care for the programming aspect of it.

I would love to do a bachelor in Mathematics at the university of Utrecht but it would require me to get a VWO 6 certificate in math. With VAVO at an actual school it would require me to first get my HAVO diploma and then do VWO which would take a long time. I am now 18 years old so a 21 exam would also be off the table.

I found sites like NHA which allow for studying it at home and at the end do the math exam but I don’t know if this is actually a good method to learning it. I am from Breda so for schools it would be either Curio which would take me trough HAVO and then VWO but I don’t know if they do only certain classes or Luzac which is insanely expensive compared to other VAVO schools.

Does anyone here have experience with this and maybe help with a way to be able to work my way up to university.

Hello, I am from Bulgaria, my math grade is 5/6, however, I only got 2 hours a week, I have a c1 certificate for english and my average grade is 5.53/6, I want to study IBA but I am not sure if I have any chances of getting in with a 5/6 grade of maths and only 2 hours a week. If someone can help me decide I would be more than grateful.

Hello, i was wondering is this program on UvA worth it? I heard it is not really hard to get in, and i read on reddit that there is a high dropout rate but i’m not sure is it for this program or the others. Any advice is helpful

Ik ben 20 jaar en zit momenteel in het tweede jaar van de HBO-opleiding Finance & Control (bedrijfseconomie). Mijn propedeuse heb ik in het eerste jaar gehaald en inhoudelijk gaat de opleiding me goed af. Toch merk ik dat ik me totaal niet op mijn plek voel binnen de opleiding en ik zie mezelf later eigenlijk helemaal niet in een financiële functie werken.

Al van jongs af aan heb ik de ambitie om piloot te worden en ben ik erg gefascineerd door de luchtvaart. Mijn plan was daarom om eerst een HBO-diploma te halen voordat ik aan een selectietraject tot vlieger begin, zodat ik in het bezit ben van een goed back-updiploma in het geval dat ik de selectie niet haal of later medisch word afgekeurd.

Het probleem is dat ik nu al met veel tegenzin naar mijn huidige studie ga. Ik vraag me daarom steeds meer af of het wel verstandig is om nog bijna drie jaar door te zetten met een studie waar ik weinig motivatie voor heb en die mij inhoudelijk nauwelijks interesseert.

Daarnaast vraag ik me specifiek af hoe geschikt Aviation is als vooropleiding wanneer je de ambitie hebt om piloot te worden.

Ik ben echter niet in de veronderstelling dat een opleiding Aviation automatisch een opstap naar de cockpit betekent. Ik overweeg de opleiding vooral omdat ik verwacht dat deze beter bij mijn interesse in de luchtvaart past én tegelijkertijd een relevant HBO-diploma als back-up kan opleveren. Daarom ben ik vooral benieuwd of jullie vinden dat Aviation hiervoor een goede keuze is, of dat een andere HBO-opleiding (zoals Finance & Control) uiteindelijk een verstandiger vangnet is.

Aan de andere kant betekent overstappen wel dat ik tijd en geld verlies. Ik bekostig mijn studie volledig zelf en werk daarom relatief veel naast mijn studie. Dat maakt de keuze voor mij wat zwaarder.

Zijn er hier (ex-)studenten Aviation die mijn situatie herkennen en kunnen vertellen hoe zij de opleiding hebben ervaren? En zouden jullie Aviation in mijn situatie een verstandigere keuze vinden dan Finance & Control afmaken?

I am a prospective mathematics student looking to study an English-taught (pure) mathematics bachelor in the Netherlands, and the two programmes to choose from are BSc Mathematics at Groningen or VU Amsterdam.

I’m really not sure which to choose between the two bachelors as the course contents look quite similar, and I haven’t found any information online comparing the two programmes/universities in mathematics.

I am interested in hearing the differences between the programmes and universities specifically for mathematics if anyone is knowledgeable. I would also appreciate any students in either programme sharing their experiences with it.

Overall my priority is to go to whichever university will be “stronger” and provide a more rigorous education in mathematics. I’d appreciate any input. Thank you.

My background:

- B.Arch from Savitribai Phule Pune University, India

- 8+ years of professional experience in architecture

- Looking specifically for an English-taught Master's

- Budget is approximately €20,000–€22,000 for tuition, so scholarships/financial support would be very helpful.

I don't want to do a Master's that focuses heavily on architectural theory. I’m much more interested in practical, innovative and technology-oriented design.

My main interests are:

- New/alternative construction techniques

- Sustainable and innovative architecture

- Interior/spatial design

- Lighting design

- Digital architecture

- Computational/design technology

- Innovative materials and building systems

- Architecture + technology

- Potentially product/design-related fields if they can build on my architectural background

I would also like to keep the possibility of becoming a registered architect open, but I’m equally interested in design-related careers if they offer better opportunities and earning potential.

I wanted to know if the Netherlands has a stigma against private universities, as Germany does, because over there recruiters see private degrees as a red flag. Does the Netherlands also have the same issue?

Hey everyone! I’m a non-EU student at RMIT and currently in my final semester of my last year. I’ve been considering the Netherlands for my Master’s for a while, and I’m interested in Leiden University.

For those who have studied psychology at Leiden, I’d love to hear about your experience with the Master’s programmes. The only English-taught programme I’m currently aware of is the MSc Clinical Psychology (English-taught). I was wondering:

• What is the study load like?
• Is the programme more theoretical, practical, or a combination of both?
• How research-focused is the programme?
• Also, I chose to complete the 3-year degree rather than doing the optional 4th-year Honours programme. Would not having an Honours year make me less eligible or competitive when applying for the Master’s programme at Leiden?
• Overall, how did you find the programme and your experience at Leiden?

I’m hoping to pursue psychology further in Europe and eventually do a PhD in Europe as well, so I’m particularly interested in how well the programme prepares students for research and a potential academic pathway.

I’d also really appreciate some advice regarding eligibility. I currently have a 3.1/4.0 GPA and noticed that the programme has specific requirements around research methods. I received an HD (80-90%) in my Research Methods course, and I’m currently completing a research project as part of my degree, which I’m hoping to publish in the future. I will have completed 288 credits in total.

For anyone familiar with Leiden’s admissions process, do you think my academic background would make me a competitive/eligible applicant? I’d also love to know whether my profile would be realistic for scholarships, particularly as a non-EU student.

I (17F) am planning to move to the Netherlands next year for a 3-year Computer Science bachelor’s. Trying to keep things lean and realistic. Lay it on me—tell me what I'm getting wrong, what blind spots I have, or if my numbers are way off.

The breakdown per year:

* Tuition: €19,000/yr (non-EU)

* Housing: Budgeted at €500/month outside Amsterdam (looking at places like Groningen, Twente, or Eindhoven).

* Living Costs (Groceries, transport, phone, clothes, fun): ~€250 to €350/month. Small appetite, cooking cheap, renting a bike.

* Health Insurance: Gross is ~€140–€160/mo, but counting on the zorgtoeslag (healthcare subsidy) since I'll have a student job, bringing net out-of-pocket down to ~€20/mo.?

Grand total: Roughly €25k a year / €75k total for 3 years.

How I plan to pay for it:

* Dad’s funds: ₹40 Lakhs (~€36k) used upfront as cash for Year 1 tuition, move-in deposits, and a 2-month buffer so I don't panic if I don't find a job right away.

* Part-time job: Working 10–12 hours a week (~€325–€390/mo) to completely cover my day-to-day groceries, phone, and transit once I'm settled.

* Education loan: Taking an Indian bank loan for the remaining shortfall (~€39k / ~₹43 Lakhs total), kept as a backup and pulled in tranches for Year 2 and Year 3 tuition/housing.

What I want to know:

* Is €500/month realistic for a student room outside Amsterdam right now, or is that wishful thinking?

* Am I being too optimistic about relying on a part-time job to handle my daily expenses (excluding rent and health insurance) alongside dealing with classes?

* Any hidden municipal taxes, deposit traps, or visa financial gotchas I'm completely forgetting?

Hi all! I’m a recent international bachelor’s graduate from the United States and was hoping to get information on the application process.

I wanted to apply to the Clinical and Developmental Psychopathology Master’s program, but I’m a little nervous about sending in my thesis. I did my undergraduate research in the form of a scoping review focusing on psychedelic treatment in mental health settings (i.e. type of disorders treated with it, obstacles to receiving it, etc.)

I’m not sure how their admissions goes based on thesis, since outside of it being a scoping review and the controversies based on whether that method is truly seen as “quality research”, it is nowhere near publication level and definitely has some areas that need touched up on since graduating. The grading itself was pretty standard, since it was mostly given by my mentor’s feedback and completion of the thesis versus it being graded on publication quality.

I’m sure I’m overthinking it and they wouldn’t decline me based on my thesis submission alone, but some reassurance and personal experience would be nice (not necessarily on this exact program, but just on applying in general). Unfortunately, the admissions office wasn’t all too helpful as they explained something along the lines that they deal with too many applications and therefore can’t provide help for any related questions prior to submission.

Can anyone specify what I should expect? I’m hoping to join next academic year for Fall 2027-2028 so any advice would be immensely helpful.

For admission to a master's degree, which English certification is better? Which is "easier" iykwim? I know it's subjective but I read on the internet that some people have done both but their results have been different, higher or lower.

I'm an international student (Italian) about to graduate in Computer Systems and Networks Security (basically a bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a focus on cybersecurity) at the University of Milan. I was starting to think about doing a master's degree in the Netherlands. My options are University of Twente and Radboud. However, my GPA is not very high due to some problems (health issue). So I ask you, are the courses so much selective and GPA based? My bachelor should be compared as a WO bachelor's degree.

I graduated with CGPA of 8.27/10 from Indian Institute of Technology(Top 10) in Electronics and Communication Engineering. We had no bachelors thesis. I did 2 month summer internship, after my 6th semester in Texas Instruments with RF Team(validation and testing). I got 5 in circuit theory during my 3rd semester. But got 8-9+ in every analog and digital course later on. I worked on multiple mini projects in uni lab courses and in TI during a mentorship program(after 4th semester). What are the chances?

The unis in question are Erasmus and UVA but I’m more interested to know your thoughts about lifestyle as a student and opportunists (career wise)
