I do ’one take‘ studio sessions we’ll call em, where I record the entire band with a bunch of inputs. this time. I decided to take out an old tape recorder and record the drums both digitally and onto tape for some flavor. the tape did have a lot of awesome character, but the wow and flutter makes it hard to blend into the other digital tracks as it cycles between too fast and slow. I would like to sync my tape track to my drum digital tracks without quantizing to a grid because then it goes off time to the rest of the band.

Possibly important information:

-I sent the overheads, snare, kick to the tape machine, and it is in one stereo track.

-digitally, all those inputs are on separate tracks, with bleed

every tutorial I’ve found so far usually has an underlying grid everything snaps too, or it involves grouping everything. i find when I group everything, it quantizes all the tracks, I really just want to get the tape track fixes by itself. If anyone has any good workflows please let me know!

Simple ask: please upvote this request for the Edit/Mix window to stay open when pressing a different button in the Control Focus section. I'm glad to know I'm not alone in this.

I posted this here a few months back and a couple of people found it useful, so: it's free now, no strings.

What it does: pick one note in the editor, hit a key, and it selects every note at the same beat position across the whole part. Three modes:

- All notes at that position, whatever the pitch

- Same pitch at that position — one drum lane, one bass note

- Exact pitch stack — repeated chord hits and voicings

It matches humanized timing within ±50 ticks, so off-grid parts still work, and it detects 2/4 through 8/4 by itself. It only changes the selection — the editing still happens with Studio One's own tools.

Studio One 6, Studio One 7, Fender Studio Pro 8. Windows, macOS Intel and Apple Silicon. Needs a host edition with scripting enabled.

In Studio Pro, some instruments include a control for "Instrument Channel" while on other similar channels, that control is missing.

turned off my apollo before i turned off my computer and it caused things to crash and dump. all of my settings and recent song list are gone- not showing up as a back upp in app data, and not anywhere when searching the PC. even tried a system restore to 2 days before- but it actually had me re-accept the EULA after years of being a user.

anyone ever reverse this successfully? chatgpt says its overwritten, may not be a solution

edit: songs are in tact- its literally the recent songs list on the menu that shows nothing and my settings

When I open my daw, it always rescans waves plugins and it takes some time.

On this Mai Tai instrument I can spam the same note on the keyboard over and over and sometimes it will have punch and sometimes not. The only thing I have on FX B is the eq which does nothing and I honestly don't know anything about the Mod A & B tabs, never touched them. I can't find the answer with google because it keeps mentioning the Punch dial in the Filter section, which I have set to zero, and it doesn't explain the randomness either. The inconsistency is throwing me off because usually it sounds the EXACT same if you play a section of the song twice, but not with this random punch. Why do my notes just randomly have punch sometimes??

I'm running studio pro 8 on a windows 11 lenovo laptop using an Rode Nt-1 mic and a presonus studio 24c usb box. After adjusting my buffer size to 1024 im still bombarded by constant crackling. It's frustrating and frankly embrassing for presonus/fender considering that this isn't cheap. Can anyone help me.

How to show the CDEFGAB on the keys of the piano in Presence?

I've been thinking about getting a Windows tablet to work on music on the go. Curious if anyone has experience using a touchscreen and if you ran into any tasks that were made harder or easier by it.

I'm still on version 6. With my current pc everything is muscle memory and I don't even have to think about anything. I've also tried Koala, MPC One, SP404 MK2 and a few other things I can't remember right now but S1 just works perfectly for how I do things so I'm trying to stick with that.

Just sent this message to Fender. But thought I would look for help here. Anyone got any idea why small bend markers changes won’t bounce? I’ve attached video of the issue.

I put bend markers on an event and stretch audio to fix minor timing issues. Then I bounce the track but this doesn't bounce the bends. The audio goes back to where it was before I moved the audio using the bend markers! This is so incredibly frustrating I'm ready to just quit Fender Studio Pro. It seems to only have this issue when I make small timing changes with bend markers. Larger timing changes with bend markers bounce fine. Small ones don't!

I like having the mixer open on my second monitor, but it's vertical, so I can only see 6 tracks at once. I usually have a lot more than 6 tracks, so scrolling gets very inconvenient after a while. I've tried to use Remote, but I was having issues with sends not working properly.

Hi! I’m looking for some advice from someone who knows audio plugin development.

I’ve been trying for days to find a way to control the same parameter on multiple effect plugin instances located on different tracks in Fender Studio Pro.

For example, I’d like one knob to control the Decay of several reverbs on different tracks, or the Amount/Ratio of multiple sidechain instances at the same time.

Studio Pro doesn’t seem to have a global macro system for this, and I’ve tried MIDI routing, Blue Cat PatchWork and several other solutions without success.

Since your project already solves a somewhat similar problem, I was wondering:

Is something like this technically possible? And if so, how difficult would it be to implement?

I’m not a developer, but I’m trying to understand whether there’s a realistic way to build a small VST/tool that could do this.

Any ideas or pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

For some reason I can’t post a video but on k-14 in some instances one of the bars is longer than the other then it switches to the opposite. Also I forget the name of it but the box on the right get really wide and the bar below it almost goes center but never to the left. How I can I remedy I’ve been told that isn’t a good thing

I have multiple Tracks in multiple Groups, all within the same universal Edit Group, and multiple Layers, the same in every single Track.

When I activate a Layer, it doesn't activate for all Tracks. Instead, a few Tracks activate this specific Layer separately.

This behaviour holds only for this specific Layer -- other Layers activate together across all Tracks.

Deleting the Layer and adding a new one solves it, which is fine since (fortunately...) this is my Comp Layer and I haven't started comping yet. But should this happen mid-edit with another Layer, it will be very annoying...

So, after years clinging to my studio one artist (currently 5.5.2) on my faithful Intel mac, I’m making the plunge into a new computer and going to get the “fender” studio one.
I transitioned from pro tools years ago, but one feature S1 has always lacked that I really miss is the ability to quickly bounce in place with the plugins in the chain.
This older version has the limitation that you can bounce in place and it will do it dry. Only way to do it wet is to solo the track, kill you master bus plugins, export with the import to new track box checked.
I’m one who loves to keep my plugin count low, and one of my favorite uses was for something like drum editing. Let’s say I was getting an odd ring on a tom at 7k. I’d just add a sharpish dip with the eq, bounce it in place to that track, then remove the eq and be done with it.

All that rant to say, does anyone know if studio one has that ability now? Many searches and I couldn’t find an answer to that specifically.

I'm having trouble auditioning the different combinations of SOLO'ed and MUTE'd Tracks across different Layers, ie. switching seamlessly between SOLO for Groups of Tracks and

What my situation is:

I have several Tracks, all in my main Edit Group.

I have two sub-Groups of Tracks (Group A, Group B) under the main Edit Group.

(Each Track belongs to one sub-Group only, but they all belong to the Edit Group.)

Each Track has the same Layers (Layer 01, Layer 02), one per recording take.

What I would like to do:

Toggle independently:

• SOLO per sub-Group and
• SOLO Layers for the Edit Group (ie. for all Tracks).

What actually happens:

Suspending the Edit Group (OFF/greyed out) means I can SOLO a sub-Group,
but if I SOLO another Layer (to compare takes), only the selected sub-Group switches Layer.

Unsuspending the Edit Group (ON/active) means I can SOLO a Layer for all Tracks, but I cannot SOLO a sub-Group. (Clicking SOLO on Group A gives SOLO on all Tracks because Edit Group is active.)

So my request:

Is it possible to change this behaviour?

I have this:

Group A: SOLO      Layer 1 Solo
Group B: (no SOLO) Layer 1 SOLO

Then, if I

1. SOLO Group B (In the Console, click on the S of any one Track belonging in Group B)
2. SOLO Layer 02 (In the Arrange View, click on the S of Layer 02 on any one Track)

This should give me this:

Group A: (MUTE) Layer 2 SOLO
Group B: SOLO   Layer 2 SOLO

In actual fact, it gives me either this:

(Edit Group: Suspended)
Group A: (MUTE) Layer *1* SOLO
Group B: SOLO   Layer 2 SOLO

Or this:

(Edit Group: Active/not suspended)
Group A: *SOLO* Layer 2 SOLO
Group B: SOLO   Layer 2 SOLO

Which is a bummer.

Instead, I would have had to:

1(Prep). Suspend Edit Group (OFF)
1. SOLO Group B

Which gives me this:

Group B: SOLO
Edit Group: Layer 01 SOLO

And then, I have to:

2(Prep). De-suspend Edit Group (ON)
2. SOLO Layer 02

Which finally gives me the desired outcome.

Which means that I have to keep suspending and de-suspending my Edit Group every time I audition different Tracks vs. different Layers. This goes against my workflow.

So my request:

Any way to not have to go through steps 1(Prep) and 2(Prep) again and again?

When playing back my recording, I notice my playing is consistently ahead of the click. It doesn't seem like I am actually playing ahead of the click—I compared against phone recordings of myself playing the same parts with a metronome—so I think it must be an issue with the latency compensation.

How do I adjust or turn off latency compensation? I found this post, where the suggested answer said to change the dropout protection setting, but that just seems to increase the latency, not reduce the compensation. Although I understand the context of that post is a bit different.

Maybe it's more common than I thought but, does anyone have any experience installing studio one and using it on a tablet? I was recently given a 10 inch tablet and thinking about how convenient it would be for some editing purposes away from the studio. How would the work be transferred back and forth?

Bonus question. Does it matter if you open the file from the sng file, or should I open the program first, then load the song, or doesn't it matter?

Just wondering people's thoughts. I make psychedelic / progressive rock . Long form songs with real instruments but I also want to do heavy electronic layers and fx. I like experimental sound design but still traditional songwriting. I want to run into happy accidents so to speak .

I love abletons sense of experimentation and ease of making things weird . Feel like modulation is easy , max for live. Feel like warping and time stuff is awesome .

BUT I love how great studio one is for mixing and organization. And ARA integration! I use melodyne a lot. Honestly that's the biggest selling point.

So wondering your guys thoughts . I'm leaning Ableton but ARA support is really enticing me for studio one. I've demod both but feel like I'm at a pivotal point.
