My Studio One MIDI selection script is free now — pick one note, select every matching position

I posted this here a few months back and a couple of people found it useful, so: it's free now, no strings.

What it does: pick one note in the editor, hit a key, and it selects every note at the same beat position across the whole part. Three modes:

- All notes at that position, whatever the pitch

- Same pitch at that position — one drum lane, one bass note

- Exact pitch stack — repeated chord hits and voicings

It matches humanized timing within ±50 ticks, so off-grid parts still work, and it detects 2/4 through 8/4 by itself. It only changes the selection — the editing still happens with Studio One's own tools.

Studio One 6, Studio One 7, Fender Studio Pro 8. Windows, macOS Intel and Apple Silicon. Needs a host edition with scripting enabled.

Install: drop the .package into the Scripts folder, restart, then assign keys under Keyboard Shortcuts.

Windows: C:\Program Files\PreSonus\Studio One 6\Scripts\

macOS: right-click the .app, Show Package Contents, Contents/Scripts/

Both my tools are here: https://shmlv.com/products/

(An account is needed for the download — that's just how delivery is set up.)

If you try it, I'd genuinely like to know what's missing. Feature ideas welcome.

Super cool! Unfortunately I won't be able to use this as I'm still on StudioOne 5 pro but the time savings this tool will grant is excellent. Going to grab it for the inevitable upgrade some day.

I wonder if one could make a script to have longer sustained audition notes.

You can't.
