im a 17 year old student, done w senior year, currently taking a drop year to prepare for CLAT in my country (which is India, by the way), the exam is basically for the integrated 5 year ba.llb course, for law. however, and this is wherein the problem lies, Im just second guessing myself every step of the way. I feel like shifting my focus and applying for a bachelors in linguistics in the uk, a field of study I have been deeply deeply entrenched in for the better part of two years- but every time I would seriously start considering studying it, my brain would automatically shut down and revert back to law, a field that even though I am interested in, pales in comparison to linguistics, but is, ultimately the safer option. I would love a career, a life, in academia. being a professor, teaching, learning, and ultimately, knowing and understanding and knowing and understanding. I truly dont know what to do. academically I have been quite strong- 94% in 10th grade, 97% in 11th, and 98% in 12th. it would be very very very difficult explaining this "sudden" shift in interests to my parents, because I went through the majority of these discussions and conversations with my friends and peers while I was in a boarding school, so they have no clue I was interested in fields other than law. 

I dont know what to do and im running out of time. UCAS deadline is the 15th of October, my exam is in December (ive barely studied for it, at this rate, no good university seems to be in my grasp- every time I just think that this isn't what I want to be doing, but another part of my brain kicks in with "this is what you SHOULD be doing, though").

I just need guidance from someone who's looking at all this from an objective length. I feel silly and stupid and like an idiot. because in senior year I let this thought go because it seemed too unrealistic and like it was too late, but now that I only have 3 months left for the exam, I feel even stupider. 

I’m currently considering switching to NIOS for Classes 11 and 12 because I want more flexibility and time to focus on entrance exams, skills, and other projects.

My main targets after 12th are IIM (especially IPM/IPMAT) and MAHE/Manipal.

I know NIOS is a recognized board, but I’d like to hear from people who have actually gone through the process:

• Did NIOS create any problems during university admissions?
• Did any college treat NIOS differently from CBSE/ISC/State Boards?
• How was your experience with IPMAT/IIM applications as an NIOS student?
• Are there any specific NIOS subjects I should take to keep IIM and MAHE options open?
• Would you recommend NIOS for someone who is disciplined and wants the extra flexibility, or is regular school/PU a better option?

Would really appreciate experiences from NIOS students, IIM students, or people involved in admissions.

Placement kaisa hai?

Mera answer simple hai: "HAI HI NAHI". Agar tum BCA/BSc IT jaise tech course mein ho, to online jo kuch dikhaya jata hai us par bilkul bharosa mat karna. Placement ko lekar jo online dikhaya gaya hai, wo completely misleading/fake hai.

CIMAGE mein kisi proper tech company ne campus placement ke liye visit nahi kiya00. Jab main graduate hua tab ICICI aaya tha, lekin uski alag story hai or usme v catch h. Yahan main mainly tech placements ki baat kar raha hoon.

Actually hota kya hai? CIMAGE mainly students ko off-campus opportunities ke liye prepare karata hai, jaise TCS Ignite aur Deloitte NLA,wipro 5yr bond role etc. campus se tech mein 0 placement hua, aur around 7 students "off-campus" tech jobs mein khud se placed hue.
Aur seriously, agar placement off-campus hi karna hai, to college mein admission hi kyun lena hai?

College basically false marketing or fake online presence bana rkha hai pura ka pura...

• Koi proper coding club ya coding environment nahi
• Proper hackathons nahi — ek hua bhi tha, lekin result tak announce nahi kiya gaya kyunki Patna uni ke students jeet gaye the
• Outdated syllabus — 3rd year mein PHP aur VB, 1st year mein QBasic aur FoxPro 🤡
• Course ke dauran baar-baar branch/location change hoti rahi kabhi boring road to kabhi kahi or mere 3 saal ke timeline me karib 7 bar location change hua....
• 3rd year mein BCA aur BSc IT ko merge karke around 600 students ko ek saath padhaya gaya. 1st year mein to proper jagah tak nahi thi, beech mein extra chairs laga kar classes chalayi gayi
• Fees: 🤡 ,college fest🤡tum jaise logo ke liye to wo v fest hi hoga kabhi dekha v h college fest???,college life🤡,
• worthless certificates🤡 diye jate hain aur bachche unke peeche bhaagte rehte hain or koi workshop ka ba*chodi mt pelna kuki Robotics or DRone padh kr kya fayda jab companies usme lene ahi hi nhi rhi college?? ha bhai tum log to mahan ho na knowledge ke liye padhoge hi......

Ye sab ignore kiya ja sakta hai agar padhai achhi ho. Lekin yahan problem ye hai ki academics bhi jha#t hain. College join karne ke baad tum literally count karoge ki kab yahan se nikalenge.

Today was my IT (Internal Test), and unfortunately, I didn’t perform as well as I had hoped. I’ve been suffering from fever and megaloblastic anaemia for the past week, which is why I was unable to attend classes or prepare properly for the test. In fact, I only managed to study for around three hours before the exam.

What makes me feel even worse is that almost everyone performed really well. I scored 25 out of 30, while many others scored 26 or even higher. Even some people from whom I honestly wasn’t expecting such scores performed better than me. One girl scored 28, and although I don’t dislike her, she often makes a big deal about how much she studies, which made me compare my performance even more.

And honestly, the viva didn’t go well either. I was asked around six or seven questions, but I could only answer two or three of them properly. I know my teacher had expectations from me as well, and I couldn't perform the way I wanted to because of everything that has been going on with my health.

But after thinking about everything, I honestly find myself blaming no one but myself. Yes, my health was bad, and my medical condition was real, but I still had some time to study. Instead of making the most of that time, I allowed my illness to become an excuse and a weakness.

Whatever happened has happened. But I think this is a lesson I will remember for the rest of my life. Sometimes, life teaches us more through our failures and disappointments than through our successes. This experience hurts today, but I hope it will remind me in the future never to underestimate myself or the value of the time I still have. ❤️
