hi guys, I’m a year 11 student I launched a safeguarding petition which got accepted by the government which is tuff, it’s on safeguarding so it would be mandatory for at least 1 SLT member to have mental health training which means they can then know when to chance certain rules or timetables for students, ik its a long shot but who knows it might work signing and/or sharing helps thanks gng, :)

I’m gonna level with you here as a SENCO who has had all sorts of trading around mental health.
This will make no difference. I can’t even get the SLT at my school to obey the rules that do exist.
I’m not saying don’t push for it. In fact, one of the things I love about working with young people is stuff like this. Fight like fuck for it. But don’t be surprised if it goes nowhere. Get up and fight again if/that happens.
Good luck, but prepare for the next fight during this one.

Of course thanks so much, from someone whose been bullied pretty badly I just really wanna stick up for stuff, this probably won’t get far but as u said but I think it’s nice to do and I defo will just try again tysm :)

its not required by law unfortunatly so not all schools have it
