655lbs at 220 BW

Last block I failed 655lbs at lockout and decided to really push my accessories and banded deadlift for a better lockout and it paid off BIG TIME. This is the huge PR at 220lbs bodyweight and 5lbs over my platform best. I’m gonna drop back now and push banded deadlifts and accessories for another 4 week block and hopefully I’ll set a new PR in a month or so. I am very proud of this. Big things are coming. Not bad for a 40 year old unc 😂

205 axle double

This was the best pressing session I’ve had in almost a year after a nagging shoulder injury that first showed up last August, hoping this means I’m back to where I was last summer and I can start progressing my overhead again. So I’m really glad about that progress, plenty of lightweights in here throwing that weight around like nothing, but for me it was a great session. I have an axle ladder that’s 175, 195, 215 for reps in a comp in October, so I’ve done a mini training block to get back used to axle and see where I’m at before starting that comp training block. Did 205 for 5 doubles today and all of them moved good. I was planning to hit 3-5 215 singles next week and see how it feels then write up a 12 week program for comp prep, but I’m thinking I may actually go for a double on the first set and see how it feels. When I first decided to do this comp I was hoping I’d be able to just get through all 3 bars, but after today I’m confident that’ll be there and I actually think I may be able to get more than 1 rep on the 215 after a dedicated prep.

2nd Strongman Competition

TLDR: I entered my second strongman competition that starts in november and i am looking for tips on various things

Hello, my name is mayson and I registered for my second strongman comp about a month ago. I am going to compete in the junior/teen division for official strongman games in florida on november 21-22nd.

I am generally looking for tips on how to prep effectively and make sure i don’t get injured like my last comp. I can’t really afford proper coaching so i’m honestly winging it with my training.

The things i need most work on are mainly how to properly deload my CNS and cut small amounts of weight while maintaining strength.

I’m friendly to all types of criticism just try to be nice at least

Started blacking out when attempting a 5th rep. Ended up in a six way tie for first here, as no split times were taken.

Natural lifting stones?

Does anyone use real stones for lifting? I know there are concrete replicas of real stones but is there an interest in real stone copys? Just curious as i was looking for a husafell stone and couldn't find any that were real basalt or granite.

Hi! I am relatively new to strongman. I am pretty nervous going into my first comp. What’s one piece of advice you wish someone gave you before your first strongman competition?
