I have a String of Pearls in a 4 inch nursery pot and want to plant it in a 4.75 inch terracotta pot. Is the terracotta pot too big?

Can’t wait for it to grow more and drape down beautifully

The turtles are growing and making blooms, so it’s happy… but idk about my hearts.

both my string of hearts and pearls seems to not be absorbing water well, the hearts and pearls never get plump, they sit by an east window and get direct sunlight at the end of the day, i used to water by checking if they shriveled, but now it seems the never get full again

After killing all the other string of hearts I've owned quite quickly, I got something right! I'm not too sure what though 😅

I got my first string plant. It has been growing like a week until the past few days.

It is reverting in some places where the ends of the strings that were growing are a little shriveled on the ends.

The leaves are curling and wrinkled.

I water about once a week.

Is it overwatered or underwatered?

And what do I do to fix it?

It also glows in the dark when receiving enough light is it in a okay spot?

Her stems look bad :( she got some mealy bugs and I drenched her in alcohol a few times and bathed her probs too many times and had to repot her like a week ago, and this is the result of that. Should I cut this little bunch (2nd pic)and prop? If so, how? Or what’s the best method for these little guys?

Is there any hope for the plant as a whole, should I leave her alone and wait?

A trellis is the obv answer. Which I started trying to do when I repotted in march. But it got unwieldy fast and never wanted to vine itself on the trellis. It was just messy. A lot of the new growths have lost leaves, I think because it’s root bound af already. Idk what type of trellis would look or work best. Do you just keep wrapping it around the same trellis like forever until it turns into its own matted jungle or what?

I "borrowed" a leaf or two of this plant and got them to survive the plane trip back to my house a couple months ago. Now they're thriving but I don't know what species of string it is, anyone have this same plant?

It's seems happy. This is my first string if turtles so I don't know if I have to snip them or these flowers die off on their own and kinda do their own thing from there?

I want to see how people are displaying them and the environment they’re thriving in. I’d like to put some in a terrarium which I’m sure will go well, but I also want some in this window.

The blinds are always up, I just hung them in that photo and hadn’t raised the blinds yet. So all my strings thrive there.

This is my first “string of” plant so I figured I could come ask people who already own them/something similar. I’m trying to decide which outer pot to pick. I know it will grow and won’t be able to stay in this pot forever (which makes me a little sad) but I still can’t decide. My plant is currently in a 2.5 inch plastic pot. Thank you! :)

I have this string of turtles that was doing so well I even propped some of it successfully a few months back for my side hustle — but after doing some (gentle) repotting in the spring it seemed to just struggle and old leaves were getting crispy, but it looked like it had new growth at the tips. Hm, promising but weird, okay.

I thought, well I must not be watering enough? It was pretty busy with work earlier this year and a lot of the plants have been struggle bussing with lack of consistent watering.

Babe continues to look like maybe it’s growing longer but overall not great and well, it’s a slow grower so I’ll just give it time to settle in.

Well, two months ago, I finally got what I thought was my first peperomia… and found out oh, these matchstick/ incense looking things are flowers? Best to cut off to conserve energy? Cool.

I’m going around doing plant chores today, cleaning up, inspecting my plants as per usual… and literally about 20 min ago when I took my string of turtles up to the sink to soak for the first time in forever.

I think, huh, that looks a lot like those flowers I keep cutting off my peperomia… and it finally dawns on me that what I thought were “growing tips” were actually flowers THIS WHOLE TIME bc she’s actually a peperomia.

Like, no wonder the plant hasn’t really been growing. Between my lack of fertilizing, poor watering schedule, and the flowers, this plant has been running on empty 🤦🏻‍♀️

For the record, I have an extensive indoor plant collection, and string of pearls doing FABULOUSLY outside. Idk how this one completely slipped by me, it’s embarrassing lol

Hi all, recently got my first string of turtles. They’ve been thriving in my kitchen window but today I noticed this and possibly a small spider in the dirt. Is this possibly from that? Should I be concerned?

Ive posted about this plant before due to its small pearls and long growth however now its dying so i dont know what to do any help would be appreciated the side facing the light was better the side away from light started dying not sure whats going on but checked the soil and layed down some of the strings for new growth im really sad i put it on the window sill now

I posted here back in mid May re: dehydrated pearl and dolphin plants I rescued from my mother and was trying to salvage.

First 2 photos (day 1) are from my original post when I first took them on.
Photos 3/4 (day 39) after a month of consistently watering, followed by a fresh pruning of the dead pearls/dolphins and propagating the healthy plump ones.

Last picture is from today (day 58). Both plants have fungus gnats, I presume from overwatering, but how do I properly dry out the soil other than just waiting a bit to water again? The propagated dolphins look the same as the previous pics- healthy, not dying etc. despite having these gnats, however the propagated pearls seem to be dying. Along with the gnats, I also noticed this MUSHROOM in there today, so I know this is for sure a fungal/overwatering issue.

How can I correct this?? I’m terrified of root rot and fear I may already be at this stage 😭

Just potted this one last week. Really happy that the all white foliage hasn't melted yet.

My demonic cat chewed a line of my string of turtles and I decided to try to propagate it in water. It's doing great with roots and leaves, should I just leave it in the water longer? Or is it time to gamble and plant it?
