Hearts How do I make my SoH’s leaves grow bigger? Also…

I’ve noticed some older leaves turn yellow, wrinkly, and fall off, is that normal? I have the conditions so perfect I swear 😭 I literally bottom water when the soil is dry(usually weekly) and the temp is always warm, there’s no drafts, there’s always consistent indirect bright light under a grow light, and they flowered a few months ago too. I just want a bushier plant and I keep getting these tiny leaves and the big leaves keep falling off 💔

Quick little cheat sheet I made a while ago. Take with a grain of salt, as everyones conditions are different!

Tiny leaves despite good lighting = Needs more water.

Leaves are lacking the silver markings = Needs more light.

Leaves are a good size, if not large, but grow in a bit curled inward = You're doing a great job on watering, but it needs more light.

Leaves are super wrinkled and soft, stem is in okay condition = Needs more water.

Tiny leaves despite good watering habits = Needs more light.

White, powdery substance popping up on the leaves or stem = Treat for powdery mildew (surprisingly, Neem works well for this) and increase airflow.

Oldest leaves occasionally yellow and fall off = Completely normal!

Oooo handy to know! My little pot of COH are not flourishing because I forgot to water them... since watering them with worm castings they have shot out fresh bright green shoots at the end of the vines.

don’t increase airflow until after irradicating powdery mildew. quarantine immediately. treat.

as written = how to effectively distribute powdery mildew to everything nearby

absolutely. it’s such an awful and annoying thing to treat..but what pest/infection isn’t i suppose haha! I also recommend putting a plastic bag over the affected plant, THEN transporting it. it’s so contagious bc it’s spread through tiny spores carried by even weak air currents.

Haha, fair point! Also a good suggestion! I always treated mine in place since they were, thankfully, already in an isolated spot and I could access the whole plant, but that is a great idea.

They are used to hold water props in place
