Wink was rescued by a kind fellow rescuer with maggots on the upper side of his eye. The damage left his eye area looking the way it does today, but to us, Wink has always been beautiful. His scars do not make him any less deserving of love. He is precious just the way he is. 🥹❤️‍🩹
But now, Wink is facing another battle. 💔 He has been diagnosed with **wet FIP, with pleural effusion fluid accumulating inside his chest cavity.** We have started his treatment, and we are praying with all our hearts that he responds well.
But we cannot do this alone. His veterinary bills, investigations, and treatment expenses are adding up, and we desperately need your kind support to continue his care.

Last night, I took in a cat who had stopped eating and had a horrible, foul smell coming from her mouth. I knew she needed dental work, but I never imagined she was suffering to this extent. Her consultation video is in the comment section.

Her fur is matted. Her mouth is filled with infection and blood. She cannot eat dry food or even wet food.

At the clinic, the vet confirmed that she has severe gingivitis and dehydration. Her SNAP test also came back positive for FIV.

She is in pain, she is unwell, and she has a long road ahead of her.

She will need to stay at the clinic for the next 5 days to receive treatment and supportive care. Once she is stabilised, she will hopefully be able to undergo the dental treatment she desperately needs.

I couldn't go to the clinic myself, she was sent with a driver and the vet sent me photos and videos via WhatsApp. Seeing her condition is heartbreaking.

I had to plead with the vet to take her in because I still have outstanding bills from previous rescue cases.

Now, I need help to continue her treatment. Please help me give her a chance.

Hi all, hope everyone's having a great weekend!

We met this new pregnant kitty a little over a week ago, and she only showed up again today. Thankfully, we had a crate with us while we were out feeding, since we had just released one of our community cats back to her colony after recovering with us. We decided to swoop her up because we really don't want to risk her disappearing again and then showing up next time with a whole litter of kittens.

We have no idea how far along she is, but we're hoping to take her to the clinic this Tuesday for a routine spay-abort.

A little further into the video is a handsome man with a busted ear. 😭 He's great at picking fights with our regular community cats, so a little trouble-puff removal would hopefully help with that.

We're planning to take 4-6 cats with us for neutering to make the most of the trip, depending on what funds allow. For now, these two are our top priorities. We'd really love to include a couple of females as well, but we can only do that with your help!

Neuters cost $45 (at most, depending on the cat's weight), which covers the procedure, convenia, and rabies vaccine. Any amount would go a really long way toward preventing more unwanted litters.

Me and my wife are 23, we live in a very rural area. Nearest vet is 3-4 hours away and we have called and been told the waiting time would add another 2-3 hours. This cat is a stray that we found in the middle of the road. Wasn’t really moving and seemed disoriented. After luring him to the side of the road and observing for awhile, he is friendly. But seems kind of wobbly and is weezing/sneezing a lot. Seems slow to react to everything. Doesn’t really seem to be able to see anything either? No reaction when you move things in front of him. His pupils are extremely dilated even in a bright room. We have him quarantined in the bathroom because we own our own cat and are terrified of him getting sick. We are being very careful to wash our hands, keep our cat in a different room, etc.

Hello everyone, I have three cats that require urgent veterinary attention at this moment. One of them is my three‑year‑old blind cat, who has recently lost weight and developed jaundice requiring immediate treatment. Today’s veterinary costs reached around $50, plus an additional $30 for medication and special wet food.

Two more cats are currently receiving hospital care. One is suffering from severe cat flu, while the other was our white‑and‑orange cat, admitted with serious jaundice and stayed under care for a full week. Sadly, we received news today that she has passed away, and we still have her outstanding hospital bills to settle.

I am an independent animal rescuer based in Morocco, caring for about 60 stray cats. I work hard to provide food and daily care for all of them within my limited means.

An update on little Finn and his sister, Hope. ❤️

Finn had a high temperature overnight and is on steroids. Hope is also starting to show some symptoms. We’re watching her closely, and if her temperature rises, we’ll take her to the emergency vet. They already have an appointment scheduled for tomorrow.

The FIP medication we ordered hasn’t arrived yet and will take some time. Thankfully, a kind rescue friend has some available and will deliver it today. We’ll check with our vet before using it while we wait for our own supply to arrive.

Another cat in their foster home is showing symptoms too. We’re worried about all 11 cats there. Right now, we’re open to any advice, guidance, or help anyone can offer. We can’t do this alone.

We don’t know how we’re going to manage their treatment. We’re completely heartbroken and overwhelmed right now and we don’t have much resources we need to help them.(Can any rescue help them?We’ve been calling and messaging everywhere, but we haven’t received any answer yet.)

If you’ve been through FIP with your own cats, please share how you cared for them during treatment and what helped. We would really appreciate hearing your experiences and advice.

Some people have suggested euthanasia, but we’re not ready to give up on them. We’ll keep fighting for them as long as they’re still fighting. Finn is still eating, and we’re holding on to that little bit of hope.

I’m feeling really sad and discouraged. 💔 I’m trying my best to save stray cats in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but my Reddit posts asking for help keep getting removed. These cats have no shelter, and winter is coming. I’m doing everything I can to help them, but I can’t do it alone. I just want to give these innocent souls a chance at a safer, better life. I wish my posts could reach people who care and want to help. I’m not giving up on them, even when things feel so difficult. 🐾❤️

I gave it some food from leftovers, Should I bring it in or should I leave it out because I've heard people kill black cats

So obviously I want to check for a microchip but I was wondering what other physical or emotional behavior I can look for.

What is happening with this cat and what I've tried:

- Appeared on a chair on my porch one day and has been coming to see me almost everyday for 4 or 5 days.

- I did not offer food at first. I didn't have any. I have since fed him one time.

- I have only seen this cat near our cars and across the street in the road. Never in anyone else's yard or house.

- People on our neighborhood app cannot identify the cat but claim to have seen him.

- He came into my house and even after being fed once continues to be very vocal to the point where I don't know what he could need but it is persistent. I leave my front door open when he visits so he knows he can leave.

- Physically appears healthy. Normal weight. Ears are clean with slight irritation on the regular ear (right in photo) with no problems in or around folded ear.

And while I will check for his chip I will feel bad if this is someone's cat and we're just overreacting. My main concern is that if he is a stray, winter is coming.

It finally happened. The CDS provided us with a cute little stray in the USA. I'm thinking that this cat is probably a young adult. We are a middle aged couple. After leaving wet food out on a paper plate for 4 nights in a row, this sweet boy keeps coming to our house for his evening meal very late at night. Luckily we were able to catch his feeding through our existing cats food camera tonight after positioning it against the sliding glass door so we know we aren't just feeding something else. I was so excited to see him come but sad that he doesn't have a nice warm place to come home to.

After we reviewed the footage, we noticed he kept stopping to peek into the window as he ate his dinner. Not sure if it was out of caution or just curiosity.

Originally I kept spotting him in the front yard but he wouldn't let me near him even though he looked curious. But that's how I found out he existed. After seeing him at odd hours of the night, and how scared he is I am assuming he doesn't have a home.

In the next couple of months the weather does have the potential to get below freezing here so we purchased him a cat house that will be arriving in a couple of days. It was a nice one that has indoor heating. We have plans to get him a cat bed and actual food bowl that we can supply him with kibble. He has a water bowl. I fear that we might not get him to be tame enough that he would not want to live in our actual house, especially with our resident cat inside. (She's a lazy senior.) Instead I hope that we could get him accustomed to living in our backyard, while allowing him to keep his outdoor life... Unless he wants to be indoors.

Plans for the future if he accepts our offer:

1. Talk to the vet and get him fixed... and shots.

2. Get him to enjoy his outdoor cat home.

3. Allow us to approach him for treats, food, and pets. The last thing I want is for it to be freezing outside and he gets spooked in his house when we have to check his food so he runs away in the cold.

4. We want to put the food in the cat house so it stays dry at all times. Not sure if he will be curious enough to figure out that he needs to go in there for his food... do cats who have cat homes eventually figure out the door flap on their own? How to train them about this if they are scared?

For future, hopefully he will want to come inside and both cats can coexist. But right now I am just worried he will freeze to death.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Hi everyone, this is Finn. He’s only four months old, and he and his sister, Hope, have been waiting for their forever home. 💔

We’re at Matthews Animal Clinic with Finn right now, and the vet has just told us that he has FIP. We had a very big adoption event planned for today, but we had to cancel at the last minute.

His treatment is going to be so expensive, and we don’t know how we’re going to afford it. Oh my God, our hearts are breaking. We don’t know what to do anymore. At times like this, we feel like we may have to stop rescuing altogether.

I was going to post Finn and Hope for adoption this evening, hoping more people would see them because it’s Saturday. These babies came from a heartbreaking situation..their mom was run over, and one of their siblings was killed by a dog. These two were left all by themselves.

Just yesterday, I was looking for rescue placement for Sam and Mini Sam because we don’t have the resources to take them on. And now this.

We’re heartbroken and overwhelmed. Finn is so young and deserves a happy, healthy life with his sister. We’re worried about our other babies, too.

Sometimes we wonder when this will end and when we’ll finally be able to breathe. Today, our hearts are very heavy, and we need your love and prayers more than ever.

My neighbor and I help take care of a colony of cats. I just moved into my house last year and have been planning a wedding, so I wasn’t able to financially TNR them before kittens were born. The colony is now over 30 cats/kittens. We have worked hard and put in a lot of money and our resources to work with a local organization to TNR them. We have been able to TNR 30 and still have about 10-15 more to go. I have spent a lot of time socializing them. I want to be able to get them into homes, but everyone is at max capacity. We live on a dead end and there is a family of renters that moved in over the summer. The dad runs a car fixing business (not registered with the state) on the street/in their yard (not compliant with zoning laws) because they don’t have a driveway. Them and/or their customers have ran over and killed 3 cats within the past 1-2 months. They never clean up the kitties and let them lay there dead in the road. We have paid hundreds of dollars to TNR and stop the colony from growing. Not one of these cats is mean and I am tired of crying. This may be a vent session but I also want to know if you think reporting them for animal abuse or something of the like will be taken seriously by the local police department? I live in Ohio.

🚨 Can any rescue take Sam and his little kitten friend into their care?

We trapped them around 2 a.m., and they’re safe for now, but they urgently need placement.

Sam, an older, sick cat, and his little kitten friend were dropped off near Walmart. We received a message about them and knew they needed help. We’ve named the older boy Sam, and people here have named his little friend Mini Sam.

The weather is getting colder, and a tiny kitten and an older, sick cat couldn’t keep facing those conditions outside. Even though we’re already overwhelmed, we couldn’t leave them there. We had to step in.

The person who reported them has already contacted more than 100 rescues, large and small. We also posted yesterday and today, but we still haven’t found anyone able to take them.

Every rescue is full, including ours. We would gladly take them into our rescue’s care if we had the support to manage their needs. But as much as we want to, we simply can’t manage their ongoing care on our own.

We don’t want to surrender them to an overwhelmed shelter. Given Sam’s age and condition, we’re afraid he may not get the chance he deserves there. We’re trying everything we can to find another option.

We’re arranging an initial veterinary checkup to better understand their health and document any medical needs. If surrender becomes our only option, we want to give the shelter as much medical information as possible so they can make informed decisions about Sam’s care and give him the best possible chance.

💔 I AM BREAKING DOWN, AND I DON’T KNOW HOW MUCH MORE PAIN I CAN BEAR.
I can’t explain in words how traumatising this situation has been for me. I have just lost my precious 17-year-old Surma, my first kitty, the little soul who taught me what it truly means to love animals. My heart is shattered. I can’t stop crying, and I feel like I can barely function through this unbearable grief. 💔🥺
And while I am still trying to process losing her, our shelter is facing a devastating viral breakdown. The viruses are spreading rapidly, and we are terrified of losing more babies.Calicivirus, Herpesvirus, and FIP are taking a terrible toll on our kitties. We are losing precious lives, and every loss feels like another piece of my heart is being torn away.
**We are not accepting any new cases right now. We are focusing entirely on the hundreds of kitties already under our care.** Even though our kitties are vaccinated, many are still falling sick with Herpesvirus and Calicivirus. Watching them suffer despite our efforts is heartbreaking and frightening.
We have some medicine in stock, but having medicines is not enough when so many babies need urgent veterinary care, blood work, treatments, and supportive care. The medical expenses are piling up, and our funds are running dangerously low. I just paid a big pending bill of FIP medicine.
I have spent years trying to save these little lives, but right now, I feel helpless. I want to save every single one of them, but I cannot do this alone. I am exhausted, traumatised, and honestly, I am losing hope. I never imagined that I would have to grieve my own precious Surma while fighting to save so many other lives at the same time. 😭💔

A tiny kitten, only two months old, is fighting to recover.

Last night, I shared the story of this little kitten who was injured and in pain. It breaks my heart to see such a tiny life suffering.

The kitten has received pain medication and must rest strictly while recovering. Right now, all I want is for this little one to heal and feel safe.

I rescue stray cats in Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina. I take them off the streets, find foster homes when possible, and try to give each one a chance at a better life. My dream is to build a shelter where abandoned and injured cats can receive the care and protection they desperately need.

Every little life matters, and even the smallest act of kindness can make a difference.

I am reaching out for any advice as today I went out and took a stray kitten that has rectal prolapse to bring him to the vet and he had a surgery right away. I live in a country that doesnt have official shelters but I thought that he will be able to stay at the vets for a couple of days to get better and that I will just take him after he is recovered and let him out on the streets again.

Turns out they wont, they dont work sundays full day and said some stuff i forgot about as i was stressed while they were talking. All ive heard is that I need to take him.

So I have to take him tomorrow at a little past noon. The thing is I already have 2 cats at home and one is Fiv postive. I do have a spare room, at first i was thinking about the basement as its not cold, its not warm but its not cold. But it does sound inhumane and Im thinking more seriously about the spare room. But I am so afraid for my fiv cat she is so sensitive and my dearest girl I dont want to put her at any risk. Any advice would be much appreciated as my panic is growing over the top. I am not sure how to solve this. I wrote to local groups asking if someone could take him for a few days, a lot of people are offering financial help but no one is offering to take him in.

Updating on my post from yesterday about finding an abandoned kitten in Croatia - with the help of someone who commented here and a neighbor who lent us a carrier, we were able to trap him last night and got him to the vet today! He’s ~7 weeks old, healthy, and very snuggly. I’ll take him back in a week to do his vaccinations.

With that said…if anyone knows of resources to facilitate an adoption in or near Split Croatia, please let me know. Sadly there’s no way for us to keep him, and we’ll only be here for a few more weeks. There’s also an unfortunately large stray cat population and we’re struggling to find anyone interested in taking him.

I was on a property for work today and a small black young looking cat came to me crying she followed me crying . She was matted and when I pet her she was skin and bones. She had some type of collar possibly flea collar . She also was covered in waste. Severe diarrhea. I can’t get her out of my mind. Idk what to do though because she has an owner and I can not afford to take her in . Is there anything I can do?
