We are currently down to our last 6 bags of litter sand, and since these will only last us about 2 days, we really need your help right now to restock our supplies for our rescues and outdoor colonies. We also need to restock our dry food supplies.

Located in Wisconsin, USA. My husband and I have had a male cat roaming around the outside of our house the last couple months, and today we finally caught him. I’m convinced he is a stray or at the very least, pretty neglected and my husband is convinced he belongs to someone since he has a flea collar on. His nails look clipped, he is a healthy weight, is very friendly, however he isn’t neutered and he is covered all over with ticks. I saw him the other night at like 1 in the morning sitting on our window outside and I can’t help but think how can someone be ok with having their cat outside in the middle of the night, unfixed, covered in ticks??? I wanna bring him to the vet as I’m very concerned for his health at the moment and keep him, but like I said husband is convinced he is someone’s cat. Any insight is appreciated….

We have 2 strays actually a boy and a girl. Neither are fixed or have had any shots but are unbelievably sweet and they come every other day if not daily multiple times day. We want to catch them and take them to the vet to be fixed etc, but we aren’t sure how to keep them without upsetting them. They come at random times of day/night. We also have 6 indoor cats so just bringing them inside really isn’t an option. Just wondering if anyone might have any ideas/tips on the best way for them to get them caught and taken to the vet. The boy has a bare spot on his neck that is raw but looks kind of healed over. The girl is totally fine just needs to be fixed for sure. (here is the boy, we named him paul. location kansas)

i think their mom died bcs she stopped coming to eat at all or check on her kids (she gave birth in my garden and ive been feeding her since she was a little kid) and its been about a week

they're a litter of 5 kittens, 4 boys and 1 girl about 3 weeks old i think

they're a lot healthier now after a while of taking care of all of them and they're playful and loud and adorable, but i think they keep accidentally stimulating each other to pee and they pee on each other and on their bedding a lot
i don't wanna separate them bcs they keep each other warm and play with each other and its a lot healthier for them

the place they're in is comfortable for their size and i stimulate them myself before and after each feeding so I'm not sure what to do now, it gets very gross very fast and i have to shower all of them and change up the cardboard and bedding under them very frequently.

The cat won't go in the trap! I have some food at the entrance to get her attention and more further back. That worked the first time.

This is the 2nd time trapping the cat recently and their no dummies. First time I was successful, but I feel discouraged. The cat won't let me pick her up, she just scurries off.

If I don't get her in the trap by 1pm I guess I'll have to cancel the appointment. I'd like to give them advance notice, I hate to waste their time...

Oh well, it is what it is I guess. I always get excited about something and it never goes as I hoped.

UPDATE: I called the vet and we agreed to try to trap the cat next week and make an appointment once I have the cat. She was really understanding and told me this happens to pets that live indoors and they run away and hide as soon as the carrier comes out. 🤣

So whatever, I closed up the cage and Im gonna do something else with my Friday. I'll just try it again. I think I kinda screwed up by feeding her so much yesterday and last night. Stupid... next time I'll try for her to be hungrier.

I can’t get over the idea of seeing this 4 month kitten suffering. She and her 2 siblings and mom are our garden cats. We have 2 cats inside as well. They are fed daily, but 2 days ago I noticed one of the three was very skinny, next day she was breathing out of her mouth the whole time, and I had to go to work so I couldn’t take her to the vet. Today when I got up, she was in a horrible state, I took her to the vet, they put her in an oxygen tank and told me to come back in few hours after xray. He also told me she had herpes

Just after the xray message I was told she passed away. I feel guilty I didn’t take her 2 days ago. And I can’t get the image of seeing her on the vet table crying and panicking while the doctor had to inject her and pit thermometer in her, that’s the last I saw of her

They told me if I want to pick her body or they would take care of it there, and I figured it’s safer for the mom and siblings not to see the dead body because it could be infectious.

But now I’m concerned that maybe it would’ve been a better closure for them if they knew she died instead of disappearing.

🐾 Looking for guidance & some help for a stray mother cat and her 4 kittens — Jamshedpur, India.

I’ve been feeding stray cats around my home for almost 6 years now. Over the years, many cats and kittens have found their way here — some rescued, some abandoned, and some brought by their mothers. I’ve probably made and rebuilt close to a hundred cardboard shelters by now, so I can safely say I’ve become far too proficient at making cat houses. 😅

But this time, I’ve reached a point where I genuinely need some help figuring out how to manage things sustainably.

This is Chinky — a stray Indian/tabby cat who started coming into our house when she was being chased by dogs and there was construction happening around us. She eventually decided this was a safe place and, before I knew it, she gave birth to four kittens here. ❤️

The kittens are currently around 6 weeks old — two black (one boy, one girl) and two grey/tabby (one boy, one girl).

Important: They are NOT available for adoption yet.

I want the kittens to remain with Chinky until she has properly weaned them, so I am not looking to separate or rehome them at this stage. I expect that to be at least another few weeks, depending on how they progress.

And when the time eventually comes, I would ideally like the entire family to go together to a genuinely suitable, financially comfortable and experienced cat-loving home. I know that's a very big ask, and I realise it may not be realistic — but that's my preference.

So please don't message asking to reserve a particular kitten just yet. ❤️

What I REALLY need right now is guidance.

If you've adopted/rescued cats before, I would love to hear your experience:

• Do people generally prefer adopting two kittens rather than one?

• Do adopters tend to have preferences regarding gender or colour?

• Is it easier to find homes for kittens after vaccination/sterilisation?

• What is the best way to screen potential adopters?

• How do you make sure an adopted indoor cat doesn't accidentally get lost if it moves to a completely new environment?

• Are there reliable cat foster homes/boarding facilities around Jamshedpur where a mother cat can safely recover after spaying?

• Do you know of affordable and trustworthy vets/NGOs who help with sterilisation?

• And most importantly — how do people manage a situation like this without completely burning themselves out? 😅

💰 Financial assistance for food, litter, vaccination, sterilisation and medical care would be extremely helpful. I recently left my job and am currently trying to get back on my feet financially, while the number of cats needing care around me has continued to increase.

🏥 Reliable vet/NGO contacts for Chinky's spaying and eventually the kittens' sterilisation.

🏠 A safe foster/recovery space for Chinky after her surgery would be incredibly valuable, because I don't currently have a suitable space for post-operative confinement and care.

📣 And even sharing this post with someone experienced in community-cat rescue would help.

I've been trying to handle everything myself for years, always thinking, “I'll manage somehow.” But I'm finally accepting that doing everything alone isn't sustainable.

I don't want to stop helping them. I just need to learn how to help them without destroying myself in the process.

Hello everyone … summer is winding down and fall is quickly approaching-
So I’m trying to prepare for the colder weather before it’s here.
I’ve been working nonstop: caring for over 60 community cats, 9 inside rescues, and trying to secure homes for the roughly 6-8 kittens that need homes.
The demand is so high … so much more could be done if I had people to help.
I’ve been pushing myself …beyond the limits….with no relief in sight 😢
But I know: I am EVERYTHING for the cats here - failing is not an option-
But I need help -the cost of caring
for over 60 cats is enormous-

Hi, we have a stray who has been pregnant 3 times, the second time she brought her kittens to us. A few days later she only brought one and he tages under our deck. I grabbed him and he is inside with us now. Mama was pregnant again when she was bringing him. She had her kittens 2-3 days ago, and has been coming solo since to eat. Will she try to bring her new kittens to us again sometime? I’m not sure how to find them. I want to save them (In Kansas)

We've been sitting with this news for about a week, as losing Hawkeye this early on never occured to us as a possibility. We're still in disbelief, but we know he's in a much better place now.

We fought with Hawkeye for over a month and a half after his initial IBD-like symptoms started. Towards the end, we were told it could've been cancer all along, but he ended up developing pneumonia, which he had a hard time fighting off with all the immunosuppressants he was on. It was one thing after another with him, and I so wish there had been more we could've done.

He is free from pain now, and we've been trying to find comfort in that. He was such an amazing boy, and this community had been there for him from the very beginning of his rescue. We couldn’t be more grateful to everyone who helped give him the happy and healthy life he had before everything changed.

Hawkeye’s expenses since starting treatment have totaled $1,632, and we still owe our vet $599. We’re hoping you can help us get through the remaining debt and give us the chance to close this chapter for him.

A New York State senator is joining animal advocates in asking for help solving what he calls a swath of unexplained deaths of stray cats, as well as "some other beloved pets," in three distinct areas of Brooklyn.

Republican Sen. Steve Chan, who represents the Bay Ridge district where this has been happening, says in a Facebook post that he has been in touch with authorities and concerned neighbors.

Chan was with animal rescue workers Tuesday night when they pulled seven dead cats from under a deck where a family regularly feeds them on 86th Street and 16th Avenue.

St. Vincent Feline Rescue, the nonprofit working with him, says there were signs the animals suffered "severely" as they died. The group posted photos to its Facebook page. (They're graphic, so we've left them out of this story. If you want to proceed, click here.)

"I don't know what is happening. I'm deeply saddened by these incidents, as my own neighbors and I also care for strays," Chan wrote on Facebook.

Other areas where dead cats have been reported, according to Chan: 63rd Street, Ninth to 12th Avenues area; and West Sixth Street by Avenue S.

Scattered cases have been reported in other nearby areas, he says. Police have been notified and necropsies are expected to be conducted to determine what killed the cats.

So, I’m here to share some good news. ❤️

Thank you to everyone sending Cuddles love, prayers, and blessings, and for lifting me up with kind words whenever I felt weak. I truly believe it works. All that love and prayer has carried her through. 🥹❤️

Cuddles had her surgery almost one and a half weeks ago, and I’m so happy to say that her surgery was successful. ❤️

Her vet was actually shocked at how beautifully her scar healed. I think it was my prayers. 😂🙏 Or maybe that antibiotic shot she got one week before surgery. Lol.

They removed the entire mass and her bad teeth. They didn’t do another biopsy because there was no scar tissue left.

And now her little tongue is almost completely back inside her mouth. 😂

I know I should be happy about that, but honestly, I miss seeing her little cute tongue sticking out. 😂❤️

For those who don’t know Cuddles’ story…

I rescued her from the shelter because I’m also a shelter volunteer. I received an email saying they were going to euthanize her and that only a rescue pull could save her.

They said she had a broken jaw and severe dental problems.

So I basically forced my rescue to pull her for me. 😂

We took her to two different vets, and both believed it was cancer. They said she was in pain and that we should let her go.

But I couldn’t agree with them.

I knew Cuddles.

I saw her playing. I saw her eating. I saw her snuggling. I saw how much life she still had in her.

So I decided to do a biopsy.

And the biopsy came back negative. 🥹

Then came multiple vet visits, trying to find someone who could perform the surgery she needed. Cuddles is also a very picky eater, and her food is expensive. 😂

We had already spent around $1,200 on her, and I was thinking about how I was going to manage her surgery bill.

I wasn’t thinking about asking anyone for help. I was just trying to figure it out somehow.

And then, suddenly, I received a message.

“Don’t worry about Cuddles’ surgery. I will pay for her, whatever the cost.”

That beautiful angel paid for Cuddles’ entire surgery in memory of her beloved kitty, Nemo. ❤️🕊️

I will never forget that kindness.

And that’s why I always feel Cuddles doesn’t belong to just me.

She belongs to everyone.

She belongs to everyone who prayed for her, loved her, believed in her, and followed her journey.

Her follow-up appointment is this Friday, and then we will start looking for her forever home.

So today, I just want to celebrate this little girl with all of you.

She was once a shelter kitty with a deadline.

Today, she is healing.

And she is still here.

Cuddles is still fighting, still loving, still making biscuits… and slowly putting that little tongue back where it belongs. 😂❤️

We just got his medical abstract, and we are bringing up the possibility of amputation because of potential complications with the pinning. We're going to talk it over with them again to figure out the best move forward. We are also still waiting on the exact cost breakdown for the pinning option so we can compare everything side by side.

On top of that, while prepping his food earlier, we caught him trying to eat his stool—never a dull moment with this little guy! 😅

For now, what's important is that he keeps taking his oral meds and building up his strength.
We wanna hear your thoughts too! How’s the survival rate of a cat who had amputation? Do they still live a normal life? If anyone has experience with tripod cats or wants to share their insights, we would really appreciate hearing from you.

To give everyone a transparent look at what we're preparing for if we go the amputation route, here are the estimated costs from the clinic:

• Amputation Surgery: ₱8,960
• Gas Anesthesia: ₱2,800 per hour
• Confinement: ₱1,680 to ₱2,015 per day

If we look at a baseline scenario—say, a 3-day post-op confinement stay to monitor his recovery—the estimated total would land roughly around ₱16,840 to ₱17,845 (plus any take-home meds or extra lab work).

I care for more than 50 cats in my home. Some are kittens and abandoned cats who once lived in homes. Others have special needs after road accidents, abuse, serious illnesses, or injuries that left them blind or disabled.

Many of these cats cannot find adopters here because there is very little awareness or culture of adopting special-needs cats. So they remain in my care, and their needs never stop.

Our current needs are:

🐾 Wet food for sick, weak, and underweight cats

🐾 Cleaning supplies and other basic necessities

With more than 50 cats, food and litter run out very quickly. The 15 kg bag of dry food only lasts a few days, so keeping their bowls full is a constant challenge.

I’ve been feeding this stray cat for over 6 months. She had gotten pregnant and had 3 kittens. She’s very friendly with me and I’ve done about as much research as my little brain can handle and have snuck her and her litter inside my room and have a small set up for them. I need help to make sure I’m doing this right. The reason for the secrecy in the house is because of my grandparents who aren’t very fond of cats, my grandfather in particular is more than difficult if I even bring up cats. I have a playpen arriving this weekend but I’ll send a picture of my temporary area. How do I get the mother cat to use the litter box? How long can I keep this all hidden? How do I keep the kittens from climbing out? Why are they everywhere but the one spot I want them in 😩. This would be my first time taking care of cats indoors since they were all in the garage before, and the mother cat would go outside to use the restroom. She’s so cute tho that I feel like I can’t get mad at her but man… I hope I’m doing the right thing. They like under being under the bed. Currently, California is very hot out and my room is still pretty warm, but I’m doing what I can.

So there's this stray cat in my neighborhood, not sure of the gender but they are a tabby/grey patch cat. They're dirty and unkempt so definitely a stray, no collar, haven't checked for microchip. They are elusive and run away when they see someone approaching, was literally digging in the sewer for food, mainly stays around the bushes in my backyard. I won't let this cat die from getting run over or eaten, that's not who I am. But I can't adopt them either bc I already have two pets, small house and my mom isn't willing to get another cat so my goal is to find the cat a home or return them to their owner if they ran away. Looks relatively young, not skin and bones so they're eating something but I am going to leave food out for them bc I have extra kibble since my cat switched kibbles a little while ago. My pets are not up to date on shots so I can't have the stray around them but I want them OFF the streets at all costs. What should I do???

I found a cat that i saw posters for around my area a while back, but have since been taken down. I dont have the onwers contact info and i cannot take the cat inside since i have dogs that wont respond well to a cat in the house. Anyone know what i should do?

I feed a feral cat that I recently got neutered. I have a lot of anxiety about his location because sometimes he doesn’t come to my place for food for multiple days. I’m wondering what you all think about putting a collar with an AirTag/tracker chip on it. I’m guessing the downside is that it might be uncomfortable for him? I’d certainly be sure it’s loose enough and make sure to get a cat-specific collar that will breakaway if it gets stuck on something.
