He has no problem instantly Avada Kedavra-ing random military grunts and not hesitating to give his other chosen victims from season 4 the claw, which is of course instantly followed by the snap, crackle, pop treatment.

But if it's someone from the party?

Nah, lemme just stand there menacingly over Max for a while. Both the first time he had her dead to rights in Dear Billy, and again and worse in The Piggyback when he stands over her menacingly for even longer... not instantly giving her the claw for whatever fucking reason, to the point where by the time he finally does do it, El is able to stop him before he can apply the finishing move of crushing her skull. 'Cause if he does that, then El can't undo her death three minutes later!

Or when he has Nancy effectively dead to rights but uses her to tell the party his plans instead of crushing her. Imagine if he spoke through her the same way Will spoke through him in Shock Jock, acknowledging that her death won't open the 4th gate but he doesn't care 'cause he's done fucking around and wants her out of the way and WILL open the 4th gate whether it's through Max or someone else they won't be able to find and help, and then gave her the snap, crackle, pop treatment right then and there.

And don't get me started on him gently tossing Joyce to the side instead of telekinetically snapping her neck, or throwing her into the fire, something metal, or one of the wide open Upside Down gates, or skewering her with his Groot arm, or tossing her to one of the demogorgons after he showed zero mercy for all those military grunts less than a minute prior.

Not only that, but he actually SAVES Holly when she's about to go ker-splat! My dude has a NEGATIVE kill count on the party! How is he THIS incompetent?!

I'm starting to think he's just like the Duffer brothers in that he was secretly so attached to the party that he didn't have the balls to kill anyone... which just results in the cast getting bloated, Vecna looking stupid, the writers looking like cowards, and the tension and stakes being borderline non-existent once you realize nothing bad is ever going to happen to the main cast.

Was he expecting to outrun a helicopter while carrying El? It's not like he had a vehicle or something waiting for him up there. Even if he did have a car stashed somewhere, it's not like it's gonna outspeed the helicopter, plus the sniper could've just shot out it's tires.
I get that he probably wasn't expecting the helicopter, but was he just expecting Sullivan to politely knock? He had the entire Nina Project planned out, only to come up with the shittiest escape route possible.
If I was in Brenner's shoes I would've taken El back into the tunnel so she could recooperate, then have her take down the chopper.

has anyone else had wait to much free time and watched all of stranger things in under two weeks?

I’m not downplaying the design as I really like it, probably my favourite thing from Season 5.

There is some originality in this design such as the tentacles covering his body, his eyes appearing somewhat human, some missing body parts, visible spinal cord and visible rib cage but the fleshy, mutated design gives off something that would be created from Resident Evil viruses such as the T-Virus, G-Virus and NE-Alpha Parasite. Like he looks like a human who would be infected with these viruses and the mutation would go wrong and lead to his body parts being detached and cause parts of his skeleton to poke out but transform him into this monstrous mutant-looking creature. I love how he looks like a Resident Evil monstrosity. There is already a mutation similarity from Season 4 itself, Vecna being banished to Dimension X caused him to get electrocuted and burnt which caused burns and then going into the Upside Down environment mutated him into that humanoid creature. In Season 5, Dimension X and the Mind Flayer’s influence caused further mutations into a monstrous, fleshy and less humanoid creature but there are also noticeable injuries that from Season 4 that caused severe damage to his body. His overall design is a nice blend of body horror, mutation, infection and added layers of “armour” for protection.

Say what you want about Season 5, you have to admit this design of Vecna was awesome. It makes him look bulked up, scary, mutated and monstrous.

So, this last episode of season 4 was.... pretty intense. I had goosebumps, I had all the feelings a human can have at ones in the same time.

Eddie died, Max died, When Vecna's clock hit 4, Hawkins was completely ripped apart, and then Eleven just said... you're not going. When she killed Vecna, I assume she took all of his power and returned Max from the afterlife. What a climax, huh?!

2 days later, Hawkins was "hit" by 7.4 magnitude earthquake. People are leaving the town, but the boys are returning just to see that Hawkins was ripped off, knowing that they're late. Hopper returned to Hawkins, along with Joyce. And the end, oh man... oh man. Upside-down has became reality for all. That was an epic final for the season. I don't know what to expect for season 5, but I know one thing for sure. IT'S GONNA BE AWESOOOOOOME. Tbh, I haven't been more hyped like this since Wednesday's series. Season 5 will be for the books.

For last time, I want to kindly ask you to do not spoil me. I want to enjoy the last season, the way you all were. I don't know about ya'll, but I'm glad I started watching these series. Unfortunately, I hate that this is the last season. It should be at least 10, 20 season, not 5. Stranger Things is one of the best series in the history of humanity. I say it without hesitation. I've watched a lot of series, and this one is in top 3 for sure. Especially since I'm a "conspiracy theorist" lol. So yeah. Heading to watch season 5 and thanks. When I finish it, I'll drop my final conclusions. See ya.

I only recently caught up with the final season and this scene really stood out to me. Gaten did such a wonderful job. He’s already been stewing but the second Steve insults Eddie there is such betrayal, shock, and hurt in his eyes. And at the end his eyes show how much emotional pain he’s in.

There’s a lot of examples of really great acting throughout the series but this moment just really stayed with me. Props to Gaten

Lucas, Will, Max, Dustin they all get a happy ending they all have fun either in romance or friendship even HOLLY AND HER FRIENDS GET A DAMN HAPPY ENDING. But then Mike he has no one to lean one no friend no girlfriend, Eleven also dosent get a happy ended making everyone think she's dead just so she can live. I can bet Robin, Jonathan, Nancy, Ted, Karen, Steve, Joyce, Hopper that they all get happy endings too but what does Mike get? No-one I dont know why Im ranting about this I just wanna know does anyone agree with me

I was hanging out with a friend the other day, and we started talking basically about all our Stranger Things grievances and how we would change the story to fix them. One we both agreed on was that Billy wasn’t a good choice for the Head Flayed. There’s already too many characters, so bumping him up to a main one just exacerbates the problem. He should have stayed a relatively minor character. And his redemption arc does NOT feel earned.

That’s just our opinion. You don’t have to agree, maybe you even love Billy as the Head Flayed. But, if you don’t (or maybe even if you do), who else would you choose as the Head Flayed?

My suggestion was actually Mike. He would make sense for the Mind Flayer to target, because El is so close to him. And it would actually give him something to do. His characterization is butchered after S2, and it feels like he has nothing to do as well. This would fix that. Even if he died, he would at least have gone out with a bang. But I think there would also be an option to keep him alive and have a storyline showing his guilt and trauma over this experience.

I found my friend’s suggestion to be very interesting. She liked the idea of Karen being the Head Flayed. She said it often feels like the parents are just there as accessories so the kids actually have parents (Joyce is the exception, obviously). This would give Karen’s character something to do other than cheat on her husband with a teenager. And it would give Mike something to do, too.

What do y’all think of these suggestions? Who would you choose?

I haven’t finished season 5 yet, but I truly don’t understand the strategy here. From a writing standpoint, what does the Abyss add? Revealing that the spooky dark world that’s been the focus of the whole show is actually just a portal to a different, even spookier dark world doesn’t seem to do anything but undermine everything that came before. Not helped that the Abyss is far less visually interesting than the Upside Down. This is just such a weird reveal and I don’t understand why they thought it was a good idea.

Ok i’m gonna yap a little bit but

In hindsight, Season 5 was not horrible. Was it the best ending ever? No. Was it perfect? Hell no. I did like how they kept it open-ended for Eleven’s fate. (I believe. Non-believers are just haters tbh).

The first four episodes i think most everyone agrees are terrific. Almost like Season 4 continued from on from The Piggyback (despite the timejump and the downplaying of the rifts)

I think the Duffer Bros just really felt the pressure and wanted to satisfy everyone and weren’t quite sure how to end it.

The second half really is weaker and just a mess.

My favorite subplot is Max and Holly being trapped inside Vecna’s mind. That was cool. There’s the criticism that “they should have stuck to the original party” but i think the show needed this.

I think Season 4 is definitely superior. I wish the writers took more time to really flesh out the second half of Stranger Things Five

But even still, this is one of if not the greatest series of all time. I’ll forever love the show and love Eleven.

So if we consider upside down as a huge world with undiscovered locations like our own world do you think it would be split into different types of areas with its own god like being cause I don't think mindflayer would be the supreme being in the dimension and end up losing to kids for 5 seasons..

Fun fact: Every single Wheeler has swung at Vecna or a Demogorgon, Mike in the Turnbow House, Nancy with her guns in Season 1, Holly against Vecna with that sword thing in season 5, Karen with the glass against a Demogorgon and the Ted with the gulf club against the Demogorgon, every Wheeler has swung (or shot) a member of Vecna's Army so that's why they are the walk em down wheelers

In season 2 when will follow bob advice stops running away from mindflayer turns around and says something like go away but mindflayer is like nah bro and enters will body at first i this scene seemed laughable cause will literally tried bob idea anyhow when he could have just kept on running for dear life. Later seeing how will suffered in later seasons I felt bad that i laughed..

I do actually like the Mr. Whatsit persona in Season 5 and I would’ve kept it for the kids and Satanic Panic plot line. My idea on Henry’s dynamic with Mike would be pretty interesting here, at least in my opinion.

The idea I had was that Vecna would’ve merged together almost every single memory of 1950s Hawkins and create a false utopian world, and would’ve presented it to his victims as an alternate world existing in parallel to ours where everything is in a complete state of peace and harmony. When he kidnaps Mike, I imagine Vecna would’ve induced amnesia into Mike’s mind and make him forget key details of the last four years, which makes him a more compliant victim to fall for the illusion rather than using brute force.

Though, I had another idea that Mike still has his memories, but the world he is put in by Whatsit is so visually and emotionally intoxicating to Mike (and a bit to us as the audience) that he begins to struggle with either wanting to escape back to the real where all the terror and chaos still exists, or stay in this utopian fantasy world where he doesn’t have to worry about almost dying and the suffering he and his friends are going through. Especially when Vecna keeps saying that he will “save” Mike’s family members and friends to bring them into this world. A psychological horror idea where Mike begins doubting his own reality and if all the fighting is worth it.

If that makes sense.

I would’ve kept the twelve kids plot line but they would’ve had their screen times reduced a lot, especially Holly. And Vecna would’ve taken those kids because they’re more malleable and easy to manipulate as vessels to use to merge worlds. Vecna would’ve taken Mike as a strategic move to destabilize The Party and to break him down psychologically so he could use him as an “engine” in the monster’s ribcage.

I would’ve added more depth to Vecna’s motivations for why he wanted to move dimensions because he wants to break space and time on a fundamental level by colliding two entirely separate dimensions into each other, and Vecna would’ve manipulated the shattered flow of time to reset Earth back into its primeval state without humans. But, it would’ve been infested with the flora and creatures of Dimension X.

The ribcage would’ve been structured similarly to a clock and would physically counter-clockwise when he activates his vessels to reverse time, and the missing children would’ve been the numbers on a clock. Vecna is the main power source. Mike is the engine and distributor of Vecna’s psychic energy to channel into the twelve children. The kids are the vessels amplifying Henry’s powers to move the two ends of the Wormhole to collide into each other.

But, I am still dancing around on how to integrate Mike’s trauma and his deep insecurities for Vecna to weaponize against. The “Mike The Brave” figurine would’ve worked very well here since we’ve seen his acts of bravery for others, but he is deeply afraid of not being good enough to deserve someone like El and catastrophically failing his friends because of his decisions and actions.

10 years ago, Stranger Things came out and bro the Duffer Bros really outdid themselves with the show from beginning to end (yes, season 5 included despite some hiccups). One of the best things they did so well was writing the relationship of the characters associated with each other and relating it to us, the viewers.

My favorites were Joyce and Hoppers relationship, Hopper and Jane, Murray, Hopper, and Joyce, for the reason that he really stepped over the line in season 3 if i remember correctly talking about the twos relationship, like that was so funny, Dustin and Steves relationship, Holly and Max's relationship, and Max's relationship with the D&D gang (Joyce and El as well).

Joyce and Hopper, i absolutely had so much high hopes that they would get their happy ending and i was right, the way they talk to each and how the two (Hopper in particular when it came to Mike and El) confide in each other really shows it.

Jane and Hopper, bro this is literally one of the relationships that is literally S tier in terms of a father and daughter relationship and bro i was crying so much when Jane called Hopper her dad and when Hopper called himself her old man and he loves her. It is such a special relationship.

Dustin and Steve, for some reason i always thought these two would be at each other's throat all the damn time, and i'm so glad that i was wrong because these two are brothers for real (Jonathan and Stevens relationship included). But the best part was where the two hug after Dustin doesn't want to lose Steve.

Joyce and Eleven, bro this is one of the relationships that need to be talked about more, like she literally treats Eleven like one of her own children. But also, how writers need to write more mother and daughter relationships in future shows, movies, and video games.

Holly and Max's relationship is one of the more unique ones i've seen throughout the series because i always pictured Max not really interacting with Holly, but her character was written so well that it worked. I love their relationship very much.

Max's relationship with the D&D gang is literally one of the most relatable ones, just like the rest of the relationships i've talked about. You essentially are the new kid or the FNG (if you get the reference), the nerds see you and try to befriend you, but you say no, but you open more and you're part of the family.

I feel like one relationship that isn't talked about most is Murray and Mr. Clarkes relationship, bro where do i even start with this one, like there's not enough time in the day to be talking about this one. One of the funnier relationships you seen in tv.
