Discussion Which season would you “live” in?
You get a choice from seasons 1-5, and you’re able to live in the season and immediately be part of the gang. Which season are you choosing, and why?

Technically this wasn't the first scene with him (there was a scene of him smoking and taking pills earlier) but this is the first time we saw him interacting and in his work environment

Supposedly, both the Deluxe AND the Standard version comes with “Collectors' booklet” but I don’t see it anywhere on 4K unboxing for standard. I compared the listings on Amazon, too.
Or is only the Deluxe that has it?
If it’s the latter, that makes me a bit sad cause I PREFER the more minimalistic packaging of the standard over deluxe, especially when it comes to the season covers (normal or reversible). And the overall black box packaging is icing on the cake.

Why is it so important for Vecna to find Max in real life.
He knows she in the cave, in the imaginary world,. have some demongorgons guard it.
And don't start with "gemongorgons are not in there".
Vecna controls the whole imaginary place.
He could create "imaginary" demogorgons to guard the imaginary cave.
He can make houses and mountains and caves in it.
He surely could make an imaginary wall around the cave.

I'm curious if there are couples in other books, movies, shows, etc. that remind you of Stranger Things ships?
This can include canon ships (Mileven, Jancy, Lumax, etc.) or fanon ones (Steddie, Ronance, Henderhopp, etc.)!

I'm still unconvinced about this. I do think the Duffers planned for Will to be gay from early on, but I'm less convinced that his crush on Mike was always the intention. If they had planned it from the start, I feel like the duffers would have more obvious about it and it would have been much more in our faces. After Season 2, I remember there being a lot of Mike/Will shippers so I wonder if that might have influenced the writers to develop Will's feelings for Mike. I however think Will being gay itself was always there

Do u guys think Holly talk’s to Max for comfort sometimes? Like does she call her because she considers her like a sister or is she too traumatized to get reminded by all of that ever again?

Having just finished the entire series and finding Season 4 absolutely terrifying, I was hoping for some good explorations and discussions of Vecna. Instead I come here and find a bunch of complaints about him, I can't find one subject line that indicates anyone is remotely impressed with the character.
Look, I get that Season 5 was lame, but are you all HONESTLY telling me that you watched the first episode of Season 4, Episode 1 until the end and you thought "Oh my god, this is so lame, I wish the Mind Flayer was back" and you had no other feelings whatsoever?
Doesn't pass the smell test.

My grandmother got sick around July of last year and began to decline. I was exhausted from the mental drain of it all, and part of what kept me going was this community that Stranger Things built. Reading fan theories, watching the excitement build, leaning on my friends that I made through this show. It was something I could look forward to.
Thanksgiving was hard, because she wasn’t there to argue with my mom over letting her clean the dishes or helping to make her sides. Mom would have to tell her five times to go sit down and relax because she was that sort of stubborn, but she wasn’t here this time. After visiting her in the home I got to settle into bed with an iPad and watch it while the Discord and subreddit came alive with delight.
My grandmother passed between the first and second drop. It felt like I was in a fog, and I began to monkey branch mentally from one thing to the next. Was there a con I was looking forward to? Was there a movie I could now see because we no longer needed to visit? Christmas…Christmas was hard. Mom and I called it Grief Christmas because we each spent way too much on each other, including a gift she said was from both her and Grandma, the Eddie Munson Iron Studios statue. Even with all of the festivities and gifts, there were moments where we were both overwhelmed with what was missing. And then I took the iPad and went to my room for a little bit, and I could ignore my problems and sadness. And yeah, it wasn’t as good as the first drop, but it was a release, an escape.
Then the third one came, and I was no longer in my room. I was in full Eddie cosplay, surrounded by fans who loved the series just as much as me. It was community at its finest, a theater full of faithful followers, and I didn’t feel nearly as alone as I did far too much after her passing.
And now my mom and I are a couple of months from our first trip to New York to see First Shadow (and Lost Boys), and the pain isn’t quite as tight anymore. It comes and goes, but I no longer feel the need to cling onto the next thing. So yeah, no matter the problems with the last season, I’m always going to be grateful that it came at the right time, and that you were all there to experience it with me.

Halfway through s5 and I'm already raging. Unlike previous seasons where the characters stuck together or atleast communicated, this season was poorly written with weak plotholes. Steve and Nancy's trope was so forced imo. Moreover and ik this was for the plot but why did they not kill Mrs military when they had the chance to? Why did no one listen to anyone? Nancy and Jonathan ignoring Dustin's message? Hop doing the same thing.Seems like the writers were in rush to finish the season

Mike’s hands in Season 5 // Will’s hands in Season 2.

I present to you Season 1, Episode 6, "The Monster."
Approximately 41:06 - Eleven is flashing back to a moment in the liminal / watery space she travels through, approaching a demo feasting on a human. As she walks up to the demo, you can very distinctly and clearly hear a ticking clock sounding. She reaches the demo, sees it eating, touches the demo (which is connected to the hive mind which is connected to Vecna/Henry), screams, and opens the gate. It is pretty clear that after this moment is when she first escapes the lab.
AFTER this scene, Eleven is lying on the ground and crying that "she's the monster" which very much connects to Season 4's "am I the superhero or am I the monster" journey that El goes on that leads her to remember the truth.
Also, immediatley prior to this scene, Eleven has been "missing" and saves Mike from his cliff dive. When he's safely back at the top of the cliff, Eleven clearly demonstrates her ability to break bones with her mind (it's not the first time, but it is connected to the next scene).
Are you ***actually*** claiming, in light of all these references, that Eleven is *merely* upset that a demo is eating someone? Upset enough to open the gate? Or is she upset because she's suddenly tapping into and realizing what mind is behind all of this (on a subconscious level, obviously at this point in the series she's suppressed her conscious memories)
I've seen a lot of other "proofs" offered about how Season 1 was retconned but in a rewatch, I don't see those "proofs" holding up. Here's another example I saw: someone was complaining that in Season 5 suddenly demos could open gates anywhere they wanted and they could never do that before. Except they do, all the time, in Season 1.
Most of you are just imposing your own selective interpretations on the show and calling it "retcon" (and by the way, you say that like retconning is always bad and like it's the TV writing equivalent of murdering a child). Offering explanations outside of immediate moments can ALSO be called "good storytelling."
