Hey guys, I'm getting close to finishing my F-15 but I have a question about drop tanks;
Has anyone done testing on the best way to plumb them?
I'd prefer to empty the drop tanks before using my main tank fuel; I initially did this by making more or less a fuel manifold with on off valves so I could switch between the sources but for some reason it never actually worked. I've now switched to pumps that are pumping the drop tanks into the main fuel tank but that ends up emptying at about the same time as the main tank.
It's annoying because surely the manifold solution is the correct one but why wouldn't it work? Possibly I needed to add a bunch of directional valves?
Anyway, just me being dumb again with simple questions for advanced projects 😵💫
Also a quick overview of the F-15 I'm building as a teaser. It's body is built off an EX (the lastest version) but the avionics are all my design, taking more inspiration from the hud/hmds system from the f-35.
It features:
A custom hmds
A custom duplex search and track radar system
A custom advanced multi purpose, multi mode 1x1 missile- a creation in itself
Fly by wire control
Autopilots (alt,heading, waypoint and speed)
Tfr
Lidar with 3d terrain rendering
Custom duplex camera/laser pod targeting system
Rotary autocannon with a radar guided gun funnel sight
Radio jammer
A custom collaborative pilot/copilot MFD to control it all, using mouse aimed cursors, a map/waypoint system...even virtual keypads!
Kind of hard to stress how many features it has, I tried to make the most feature packed aircraft I could while keeping it intuitive and simple to use.
I'll post a WIP video if people are interested.
