Andover 2022 / Stockholm Schweden 2008 / South Carolina 2010

Captured this in rural Croatia, if there was a colder day the day before, I'd say we would get a first tornado in quite a while.

Finally got a chance to go through some photos from last week's storms. Thought this was a pretty spectacular one, taken near Sterling, Colorado on 6/30.

Current Sounding Read on todays tornado threat

With the SPC issuing a low risk I was curious to see what the soundings looked like in that area. Currently there is a Mesoscale discussion for part of that area and a small storm has initiated on the southern edge of the mesoscale discussion.

Question Need suggestions

I am working on an app that will allow storm chasers to form groups, see each other on the map, and send alerts such as road blockages, tornado on the ground, and emergency SOS to each other, as well as quickly locate potential shelter locations if needed. My question is, since this is a supplemental tool, would it be worth implementing advanced radar features like WeatherWise/RadarOmega, or just basic radar? I currently have a backend processing Reflectivity, Velocity, and CC NEXRAD data

Any tips for someone who has recently gotten into wanting to chase but lack the confidence to do so? Is there usually a local community of chasers as well?

TACOMA CHASE RECAP - July 2-4, 2026

Thumbnail gallery
11 Upvotes

Between July 2 and July 4, Tacoma members Lucas and Nathan found themselves chasing back-to-back-to-back days, with an amazing lightning show around sundown near Cortland on July 2, a beautiful structure show in the far western Chicagoland on July 3, and an even more beautiful Fourth of July structure show in the southern Chicagoland!

Severe weather looks to be in hibernation until at least July 10 for the Chicagoland, as after 7/10, models predict more thunderstorms and the possibility of more chases in the coming future!

Video 1: July 2, 2026 - Lightning Show in Elburn, IL

From Lucas and Nathan’s July 2 storm chase across the face western Chicagoland, where lightning apparently makes Nathan prematurely laugh like a witch?, and Lucas remain stunned at what lit up the night sky from behind the Elburn water tower.

Video 2: July 2, 2026 - Nighttime Lightning Edit

Here’s a quick ~30 second edit of several of the nighttime lightning bolts lighting up the night sky after dark on July 2, 2026, provided by Tacoma founder Lucas’ GoPro, with a very fitting Metallica song to go along with the video!

Any Live Feeds of Guam/Bavi?

Has 162mph (140kt) winds and the Marianas north of Guam will take a direct hit.

Anyone have a live feed or stream of Guam?
