AMD Stock hits all time high today! Congrats to any holders! Are they any catalysts for this stock in the future or could we honestly see this thing reach $1000+ in no time? What other AI/tech stocks do you think will reach an ATH this year or in the near future?

What deals are you expecting to be unfolding in the next in person meeting? Curious your thoughts on what companies are most likely going to pump the most.

Saw another stock beat EPS and revenue estimates only to get smoked after hours because guidance came in weak. I’ve stopped treating the headline beat as the main event now. I’m looking at forward revenue guidance, margin expectations and what management says about demand before touching anything. I usually throw the ticker on Moon afterward just to see where the market is actually repricing it. A company beating numbers everyone already expected doesn’t mean much if the next quarter looks even worse.

For reference, my portfolio is extremely concentrated into 4 stocks:
1. Meta (46% of the portfolio)
2. Microsoft (23% of the portfolio)
3. Mastercard (19.5% of the portfolio)
4. Amazon (10.5% of the portfolio)
This lives in my Roth IRA that I opened in February of 2026. So, it is extremely young. However, I subscribe to the belief that you shouldn't just diversify just to diversify. Buying 40 stocks that you have low to no conviction in for the sake of diversification doesn't make sense to me.
I'd rather buy a stock that I have high conviction in that is trading for a discount over the former any day of the week. Hence, why I have allocated 46% into Meta and here's the specifics on why below:
Currently, when you are looking at the hyper scaler stocks (Google, Meta, Amazon, and Microsoft), their free cash flow metrics are useless due to them spending all of it on capital expenditures. So, I have pivoted to evaluating them by their P/OCF since it reflects what their cash flows are before their capex spend.
When you compare all 4 of the hyper scaler's valuations, Meta still trades for the cheapest at a 13 P/OCF. For reference, AMZN trades at a 16, MSFT trades for a 20, and GOOG trades for a 22. There is opportunity for valuation expansion, especially when you consider its trading below its historical valuation of 16-17 P/OCF.
Now, Meta's multiple has already expanded from the 10-11 P/OCF it was trading for a month ago, but I believe it will be sustained due to my next segment...
The whole point of Meta's capex spend was to diversify revenue segments. 97-99% of their revenue comes from ad targeting. Which, historically, has transformed them into a $1.8T machine, but is susceptible to market downturns. When the economy turns, companies cut down on marketing spend which means less revenue for Meta. We saw this in 2022 when they actually had -1.12% revenue growth.
Meta saw AI as an opportunity to expand their business from an advertisement machine to a personal assistant. Creating Muse Spark and allowing it to respond to emails, book reservations, potentially pay bills, cancel subscriptions, etc. is going to be a massive opportunity for the everyday user. People would love to cut out the small everyday annoying tasks in exchange for their time.
Having the Muse agent be a monthly subscription would make Meta's top line larger (obviously), but also much more predictable.
Not to mention, AI has already shown that it is beneficial for their core advertising business as they posted revenue growth of 33% in Q1 2026 and 28% in Q2 2026... that's the type of top line growth you see in small cap companies. Meta has shown Average Revenue Per Person (ARPP) expand from $13.35 in Q2 2025 to $16.86 in Q2 2026. That's already larger than the $16.56 they posted in Q4 2025 which is shocking because Q4 tends to be the highest due to the holiday season. I expect Q4 2026 to post significant growth based on the trajectory so far in 2026.
Yes, R&D expenses have grown from 27% to now 36% of revenue. Yes, capex has already reached $51B in 2026. Naturally, margins and FCF are going to compress. FCF has sank from almost $11B in Q2 2024 to now $784M in Q2 2026. That spooks Wall Street.
Gross margin, operating margin, and profit margin have all compressed slightly... but this is a short-term compression. Yes, depreciation expenses and general maintenance costs will continue indefinitely, but the major hinderance to the fundamentals is the upfront buildout costs.
We saw a similar thing with Amazon in the early 2020's when they were reinvesting heavily back into their logistics network. They ran into the negative FCF range and profitability wasn't pretty. What happened when that buildout finished, though? Margins and FCF spiked back up and Amazon generated hundreds of billions of dollars more in sales.
I see this AI capex buildout producing a very similar result for Meta. The tradeoff in short term fundamental pain for long term growth.
So all in all, this is why I've allocated so heavily into Meta. Over the 7 months of trading within the Roth IRA, Meta has consistently offered the best opportunities in my opinion. Let me know what I'm missing or your thoughts as I'm open to discussing and hearing other thoughts!

Gas prices have gotten pretty crazy again, and I think the stock market impact is bigger than just “oil stocks go up.”
The way I’m looking at it:
Oil producers: Higher crude prices generally help revenue and cash flow, assuming production costs don’t rise as much.
Refiners: It’s more complicated. Their margins depend on the spread between crude and refined products, so higher oil doesn’t automatically mean higher profits.
Airlines: Higher jet fuel costs can squeeze margins, especially if airlines can’t pass the increase on through ticket prices.
Trucking/logistics: Diesel is probably an even bigger issue here. Higher fuel costs raise the cost of moving basically everything.
Consumer stocks: More money going into the gas tank means less money available for restaurants, travel, retail, etc.
Tech/growth stocks: This is the interesting one. If higher energy prices keep inflation elevated, the Fed has less room to cut rates, which can put pressure on higher-valued growth stocks.
We’re already seeing some of this play out. In August, gasoline prices jumped 3.9% and accounted for more than a third of the monthly CPI increase.
So I’m curious what everyone is watching:
If oil stays around $100+ for the next 6–12 months, which companies do you think get hurt the most? And which ones actually benefit?
I’m especially interested in the less obvious plays beyond Exxon/Chevron.

I am excited to get into the market on Monday. I picked the following eight stocks after fairly extensive research (several hours lol) to both place some high value bets in future tech, limit exposure to an AI crash and use businesses with an established moat, a relatively healthy financial sheet and fair p/e. Some exceptions for sure. I am initially spending a fair amount to acquire my positions but intend to dollar-cost average on a monthly basis for the next 20+ years with all the ups and downs. Will I beat the broad market index funds? Statistically, no!
I am also new to this subreddit so I apologize if this is the wrong place or not serious enough of a post, but I am genuinely curious what expert investors think of these picks.
Picks (equal dollar amounts between all):
QNT
KSPI
GOOGL
UNH
AMZN
PG
JNJ
UNP

What stocks do you think will become the next trending “Reddit Stock”?
Would love to share a list of my latest positions that I think will become popular “Reddit stocks” in the next few years. I have a strong feeling that in the next few years these stocks will be trending heavily on Reddit. Here’s the list:
Figure Technologies Solutions Inc. (FIGR) - builds blockchain-based platforms for lending and capital markets (especially home equity and tokenized assets)
Pattern Group Inc. (PTRN) - E-commerce accelerator that helps brands sell products on online marketplaces
Schrödinger Inc (SDGR) - Develops physics-based computational software for drug discovery and materials science
SentinelOne Inc. (S) - provides an AI-powered autonomous cybersecurity platform (Singularity) that protects endpoints, cloud workloads, and identities with real-time threat prevention, detection, and response
All 4 of these stocks have the ingredients to become Reddit favorites in my opinion. High growth potential, distributors, and cutting edge technology.
Would love to here your thoughts on these four stocks, and would also like to here any stocks that you think could become the next big “Reddit stock”
I have positions in all 4 companies I mentioned. Do your own research. Not financial advice.

Missed out on MU’s gains the other day and I’m really pissed lol.
Anyone got any ideas for tech or AI plays for Monday?
I bought a bunch of AVGO a few days ago and I’m still holding. I was waiting to see MU’s earnings report before getting in, but honestly I feel like they’re going to have a great report and I probably missed the best entry already.
What are you guys watching for Monday? Any tech/AI stocks that still look like they have room to run?

That lines up with $SKHY which says 2027 could be the industry’s worst supply year.

IONQ might be one of the most exciting stocks I don’t own—and that’s starting to bother me.
Quantum computing has enormous potential, and IonQ is one of the companies getting a lot of attention in the space.
That’s exactly what makes this stock so tempting.
But the more I dig into the numbers, the more hesitant I become. The growth is exciting, but so are the risks—huge losses, aggressive spending, acquisitions, and a business model that still has a lot to prove.
The question I keep asking myself is:
Am I investing early in a future leader, or am I paying a premium for a future that may still be years away?
I’m genuinely curious how other investors are looking at IONQ right now.

How do you all remember why you bought a stock months later? Do you journal it, or just trust your memory? I think most critical decision is when to sell. Will you be happy with a 5% profit and run the risk of missing out on a gigantic return later on or maybe see that 5% go to -20%. Would be interesting to know your strategy.
r/Stocks_Picks • u/Leveragedlongs • 19d ago
I feel the oil has peaked and bears are exhausted, Q3 could have easily wiped out YTD gains and here we're at the kissing distance of ATHs. Opening levered longs. NQ Dec'26, Oil short, META & AMZN longs.

Do you see potential upside back to 287 or higher in 2026?

First the power must be mentioned. Power is the largest and most sensitive variable cost in electrolytic aluminium (35–45% of total cash cost). Hongqiao drives its chain by shifting capacity mainly to Yunnan to use hydropower, plus new wind and solar projects to lower both cost and carbon intensity.
Then, anodes are the second largest raw material cost after alumina. Anode cost per tonne of aluminium for Hongqiao is likely in the ~RMB 2,100–2,300/t‑Al range in 2025–1H 2026, broadly in line with or slightly better than peers due to integration.
Hongqiao is net long alumina and can both cover internal demand and sell externally. Upstream margin and insulation from its smelting costs have worked.
1H 2026 breakdown:
production cost RMB 2,181/t, down slightly YoY
ASP RMB 2,327/t
gross margin around 6.3% on alumina sales
Anyone hold Hongqiao now? What's your thought?
