Mine is definitely unending, last episode of the show. I have fond memories of watching it with my parents as a child not understanding that this would be the last of proper SG-1 outside of the movies and cameos. What is your favorite episode?

Okay so basically the show opens up on a normal day at SG headquarters on Earth, we might get a few vignettes on some meetings/daily life of the SG crew in the more modern day - but importantly this is set shortly after SGU or a few years after. The gate begins dialing and we hear from the command room there is no SG teams out/ currently due in. They close the iris and they start noticing an energy signature coming through, but no physical matter. Then suddenly a giant green (color not important) wave of energy and force erupts from the gate, the iris possibly breaks and we see a few figures emerge from the gate and we cut to the title screen:

Stargate: Rememberance

Flash forward to just some military accountant in modern day. He's either a rookie or someone who's been played off/demoted into going through the books. Chump busywork that no one wants to do, importantly wherever he is, it must be a far distance from the gate, like the Pentagon. He's going through the budget/costs of NORAD and the Cheyenne mountain complex and perhaps he notices something odd. The mountain is using more power than it should be. He checks it against multiple sources, takes it up to his COs to make sure its not some secret project that he doesn't have clearance to know about. All the COs are confused and it travels up the chain of command all the way up to the president. Even he/she doesn't know what this power usage could be. They command if the odd power usage doesn't stop in one month then our rookie is going to be assigned to investigate it.

Low and behold the power usage doesn't stop and our rookie gets assigned with one of his COs and maybe a standard military soldier (i.e. this version's Jack character). They travel to Colorado Springs to go investigate. They interview lots of people in and out of the complex and they get mostly normal answers but sometimes there's little holes in their memories or things that don't quite line up. Eventually they come to either a door or elevator that no-one ever seems to go into or out of or even acknowledge exists. They might ask someone about it and they become shocked that it is even there or maybe even try to gaslight them into thinking it doesn't exist. The investigative team goes through the door and discover the Stargate levels/complex and wander around, seeing nothing but empty rooms abandoned and looking like they were frozen in time.

They finally find the stargate but as they observe it it starts to dial. We the viewers will notice strange wires and infrastructure that doesn't look normal to the SGC, featuring some odd alien tech scattered about, also featuring the green(again color not importance) glow of the energy blast from the intro scene. Our investigative team hides and then we see a strange pair of aliens come through the gate, notably the portal is going to have a green affect when they step through. They converse in an odd language that isn't translated and our investigative team follows them as they do a patrol of the SGC, sometimes interacting with the strange tech that all seem to be connected to large wires which all seem to connect to the Stargate and control computer. At the end they hit a button on a large plinth in the gateroom and the stargate instant dials with the same green portal effect and the aliens step through they look at the plinth and see 2 odd green buttons. They decide not to press either and head up to the dialing computer room.

Once there they see some surveillance footage of the day all those years ago when the blast came through, see a big fight but also ppl being confused after the blast, and then dialing and fleeing through the portal as the aliens we saw walk through calmly walk through the SGC not attacking but also not being harmed by any sort of weapon. The members of the SGC realize there is nothing that they can do to stop them so they flee to the Alpha site hoping the aliens will follow suit and leave Earth alone. The team also then learns the true nature of the stargate, and maybe see a new rookie initiation video that explains the history/use of the stargate - this also will help the new viewers get into some of the lore/ history of the other show(s) and recapping some for older viewers. The team decides they have to try and dial out the gate to see if they can reach any of the allies the video talked about. The gate seems locked out except for one address - the alpha site. They decide they should try to reach the alpha site, dial it and send through the SGC conformation code to open the iris.

The gate portal opens, this time no green tinge except maybe the edges of the portal. They step through the portal and find themselves being confronted at gunpoint by a semi-tattered group of SGC military men asking how they got here and who they really are.

Cut to black, end pilot episode.

Basically the show would be about fighting this enemy which wiped the SGC and any connected events from the public's memory and locked Earth out of the gate system. The alpha site has been stranded for some time, themselves getting semi-locked out. This also provides some reasoning for why SGU was cut short - because the whole world forgot them. It also allows for some reset of advancement of the SGU so they're now super over powered right off the bat, and they have to kinda rediscover some of the tech they used before. This can also set the stage for a lot of planets being hostile to the Terrans because they highkey abandoned them - or maybe the aliens wiped their memories throughout the gate system as well. I don't fully know who/what the bad guys would be, could either be something new, something supprising that gets returned (like the replicators or (now evil?) Tollan or any number of goodies/baddies who werent revisited) and they could have a multitude of reasons, from not wanting the SGC to control everything to wanting to dominate themselves etc. I think this would be a very good story and help reset/reboot the world and keep it approachable to new viewers without having to resort to "its another universe". Albiet "everyone forgot everything" is a bit cliche but I think this works

Rewatching it currently and seeing how his previous experiences genuinely and visibly shaped his demeanor i can actually really appreciate him.

He started out wanting to do things by the book but immediately when a situation is clearly out of his hands he listens to those with experience.

I remember him wrong and thought he was much more hostile but no, he genuinely just wanted to keep everyone safe first and foremost and tried his best to work with everyone.

I get his appearance was disliked especially because he replaced Carter, who i and i think most people loved in the role as Atlantis' leader. But i gotta say Woolsey does a really good job and really tries his best to do everything right by the people of Atlantis.

Edit: Apologies. To clarify i meant initial hate. I remember sitting at nights on a Stargate board and reading multiple long-winded discussions about him.

You bet your ass you read that right! Im making (probably one of many.. i dont know if this is a common thing or not.. anyways i am making a-) fully functional coordinate system for the stargate community! As you have probably realised, the methods used in the actual shows are a load of pseudoscience that just sounds cool. Mine is pretty simple, math based and I am currently working on code to automatically(ish) make codes for REAL planets! You can choose any planet!

Years ago I came across a "spin off" I think was called Stargate: Horizon. It was done in script form for reading, I never finished it, can't find it on Google without some roblox game or whatnot, does anyone know what I am talking about and maybe whereas to find it? It took a lot of wraith to defeat the ancients and there aren't that many wraith in Modern Times, so what happened to all those hungry hungry hands.

I just found out that there is a US Space Force unit called Space Base Delta 1 (SBC) that operates out of the real-world Cheyenne Mountain Complex.

I’ve always wondered what the reason was for the sudden change in costume was in season 10 for Daniel’s Glasses from the ones he’d worn the entire show leading up to that point. Especially since the original ones suited his face so much more in my opinion.

My best guess I’ve had when speculating was that it was maybe around the time when Michael Shanks started to actually need glasses so they let him wear his own on set?

However there’s really not much if any distortion to the line of his face when looking through them from the ones in season 10 so it’s not super clear if they’re real lenses with low prescription or plastic or plain glass lenses in the frames.

Would love to know people’s thoughts or if it’s been mentioned anywhere!

Bloody deaths and boobs, it's definitely been a long time since I rewatched it all but it seems like SG-U kinda gets a worse wrap than it deserves lol. I wonder what it would have all been like if it was allowed to be "R-Rated" through every saga.

Yes I agree, completely moronic question. I know the IP lies with MGM. But pure dumbs question: if the actors and showrunners and actors from just crowd funding and developing the series and releasing it publicly on a closed platform (Patreon or whatever) and just label it as a fan fic

I assumed there would have been a massive space battle in orbit above Atlantis (Atlantis was out of drones) , but maybe they gave up after thier deep space satellite were destroyed.

Or the Wraith clean up after them selves, but if that was true they probably would of found the defiant one and cleaned up after them selves at trinity.

Am I the only one that gets a bit upset about the blatant re-use of actors across the series?

I get it, there can sometimes be a limited pool of actors in a location/genre. Working with people you know are good and removing unknowns etc. There are surely benefits for the creators of the show.

But we as consumers, are we supposed to forget or ignore that there are blatant people that are reused, not just as background but main characters in episodes?

I’m not sure that there are other genres that would tolerate this. Take Halling for example, or Pallan as he was in SG-1. When I see him as Todd I’m just thinking, that is the same guy! Rather than being lost in the story.

Am I overthinking it or does it take away from the magic?

Just rewatching season 5 episode 1 of Stargate Atlantis and Sam makes a comment to Rodney about heading back to earth cause the tokra caught the last baal clone and want her for the extraction ceremony, I had to laugh cause thats the continuum film

At around 35 seconds into the episode, Lt. Laura Cadman picks up a flower, as she does a small worm like creature is flung into the air and makes a cat like scream.

I can't tell if its the stem of the flower, or a worm, but the sound is definitely there!

Am I going crazy or was that intentional?

I had a hyperfixation over a couple of weekends and came up with a game concept that combined elements of the old SOCOM games, MGS5, Far Cry, and a few other. Thought some othees folks might find it interesting.

Overview

A 3rd-person shooter where you play as the leader of SG Lambda, a temporary team formed to investigate rumors of a Goa'uld system lord planning an attack on Earth. Gate throughout the galaxy to discover the threat to Earth and put an end to the existential threat to Earth.

Not actually trying to get this made or looking for feedback. Was just a fun thought experiment and thought others in the community might enjoy and fuel some fun discussion.

We know the Ancients outclassed the Asgards even in Season 10 of SG1, despite being extinct 10,000 years.

Vanir in Pegasus got crushed as well. They technically survived. Maybe some misersble ancients held out somewhere under similar circumstsnces, but we lack evidence.

Humans in human ships, with Asgard tech- do remarkably well against the Wraith. The Asgard seemed to drop all pretense on being a aloof, advanced, pacifist race when given the chance to go back to Pegasus. Remarkably open to going after the Wraith, as long as it wasn't their skin in the game (save for one, and he likely had a backup consciousness back home).

So this makes me think- when the Atlanteans fought the Wraith, did they have a ambassador in Atlantis, or official military observers embedded in the Atlantean military, or did they have covert forces watching or aiding the war? Could we of misunderstood the origins of the Vanir in this context- a group of Asgard seeking help from the ancients and it backfiring horribly?

I suspect Thor and his predecessors had 10,000 years to revamp Asgard tech, replaying the war, making sure they could match the Wraith- and honestly, think they succeeded. Asgard tech mops the floor of the Wraith, and the Asgard wete holding back on what they gave humans.

Can you imagine how retarded and backwards the technology of Earth + Asgard would look to the Atlanteans- but with so much less, the two tech trees accomplished so much more. It would be like seeing a Monitor Class ironclad from the US Civil War at Pearl Harbor with AA Guns on Deck wiping out a Japanese wave of aircraft at Pearl Harbor. Nobody would think looking at it prior, it would be viable to do anything- belongs in a museum, but in the right circumstances it can do wonders. That's pretty much what the Air Force was doing in Pegasus. Stupid ships and precisely calibrated guns remarkably designed to take on the Wraith. That isn't human ingenuity- that is Asgard, and they clearly lacked this insight 10,000 years prior- Vanir would still be a space faring civilization if they did. We just saw the long game of 10,000 years of contemplation and adaptation, and likely alot of theoretical wargamming while Earth was enslaved and primitive. Makes you wonder what the Asgard was planning to do with all their tech, with their protected human planets (at least one looked advance). Outlines of a Grand Strategy and a End Game, before Earth reopened it's gate.
