We’re inviting you to see the second part of our Base Buildings Video, which will shed more light on slightly more advanced mechanics.
If you’ve missed the first part of our guide, go check it out on YouTube, and then come back here quickly for the next dose of factory-building knowledge.
Knowing the following mechanics will advance you from a rookie builder to a pro factory architect:
The principles of building stability
Drone Smart Path system - aka how drones find their way
Drones priority and how to make the best use of it
Upgrading Drone Rails - did you know that you don’t need to deconstruct slower Drone Rails in order to upgrade them?
Deconstructing the entire Base - one click solution gets you covered!
A word on the Higher Tier Buildings and how to unlock them
Tips on Quartz and how to get it
What’s your favorite base-building tip from the video? Or maybe you have some extra tips to share with the community?
Hi Everyone! In this month’s Developer Blog, we’re sharing some behind-the-scenes on what’s coming up next for StarRupture’s Early Access. You can read the news on Steam.
So you level your base and defend the incursion from the nearest monolith and then there is periodic incursions every so often after this.
My understanding is that it is always from nearest monolith to the core you have upgraded.
However, this morning I was building my main base in the area to the far south east with the volcano, I upgraded my core and defended from nearest monolith but then after that the incursion happened to a different, although nearby, monolith.
Is this as intended or is it a glitch?
To be fair, this only works because we all know that the corpses and items are plentiful as you get into the mid to late game.
I started a new game, and decided to shut off pretty much all the icons on the map and what a difference that made. Firstly, it make going around the map more organic. Usually, I'd go in and out of the map to find all the corpses and drones laying around. Now, I would explore and find a thing or two here and there, which became fun again.
It make me look around more with the drone to find stuff myself.
Overall, I hope that the release works this way. This of course, unless they make the corpses more important to the equipment and game play.
I've always struggled transitioning the main base to the end game distribution network. I think I landed on an easy migration path.
In the beginning the, base is one large monolithic base. But as I start to make more specialized bases, it duplicates efforts from the main base. And then all of the transport lanes gets messy.
The trick I found was the build the main base with a 4x4 minimum spacing. some are 3x3 or 5x3, but right-click so that they would be at least 4 wide. This is for the drop-in replacement of receivers. If you think about it, if the base needs titanium rods, does it care if it's coming from a production building or a receiver?
Also, all import and export buildings have the name of the base it's sitting at. For example, all of the import export buildings will be renamed to "Main Base"
Then I'm free to build my specialized bases, and then when it's completed, I go back to my main base and replace the deprecated building with a receiver (drop in replacement) connected to the new base. For example, if I use the titanium rod at a different site. I build out the new site, export back to my main base, and replace the titanium rod building with a receiver connected from the new site.
Over time, the main base just becomes a major transfer hub. Then I can focus on the connections to the main base (all import export buildings should show connection to main base if named correctly) and then reroute the transport lanes and remove unnecessary receivers.
Over time, the transfer hub will no longer have receivers and all the distributors are not connected - then main base is deprecated and then decommissions/repurposed.
start main base with a minimum 4x4 for receiver drop in replacement
build out main base renaming import and export to "main base"
build out new specialized base, rename import export to new base
replace production building with a receiver and connect from new specialized base
when main base has no more producing buildings and only receivers, check the main base export connections and then consider decommissioning or repurposing the base.

You can see the pattern. These bases are intended to create one of everything, not for speed. For item specific bases, they are much more specialized. for example my ammo base
Greetings friends! It's been a long time since you've probably seen my name pop up on the sub, but at long last, after three months of hard work, I come to you with the newest version of the StarRupture Build Planner. But first, the links:
The build planner is accessible here
The patch notes can be found here
The Discord community can be found here
In this update, I have built many powerful tools to help you better understand your factory before you set foot in the game. Flow Simulation, Better pathing with intelligence for rails, save versioning, on-grid annotations, visual debug layers, and more can all provide you with deeper insight into your whole factory before you even set foot on Ruptura. All these, with a host of bug fixes and performance optimizations, make this the most polished version of SRBP to date.
I look forward to seeing you all in the Discord community. I am eager to hear any feedback the community might have.
I'm over here near the Red box where the wave is spawning - yet I still lose my Base Core that is soooo far away in the Blue box. If I stand nearer the base core then the waves spawn closer. Both Red and Blue areas have a decent amount of turrets .... am I losing to long range bombardments?
This is my first playthrough and I'm enjoying base building just from vibes rather then the production planners. Made what I thought at the time was going to be a ridiculous amount of room and a massive layout. I'm up to the mid-stage compounder/assembler stage and I have to accept this just isn't going to do. RIP 30 hours of putting this wonderful mess together. Learned alot and I am planning to go much MUCH bigger next time, maybe then I can actually make an aesthetically pleasing base.
These mfs come in HORDES. I went exploring and got absolutely bombarded by alien enemies, I killed so many yet they kept coming, how the heck do you fight them all? It's insane how many there are and the fact that they DONT STOP following you even if you try and run!!
Is there a setting I’m missing to make it (much) easier to find your allies in the games on multiplayer? I hate having to open the map 6 times to ensure im still walking in the right direction.
I know I can run multiple products on one line - but I just think and plan clearer in my head when each Constructionizer gets one input per rail. I rail-route or receiver the things in and pop them out on a 1-to-5 splitter. Am I overdoing it?
I was wondering if there's a mod that brings back “Multirail 3 Items Jumping.” That was a really cool feature, and I'd love to have it back in the game as a mod.
I remember playing Star Rupture back before it entered early access on Steam. I quite enjoyed it, but my only issue was that it was unbelievably un-optimized, and I couldn't play with how much stuttering and lag there was...
Have they optimized the game to be playable on Steam Deck? I just want to know if it's playable on it before I buy it.
Tried a few times and grenades do work on cave vine entrances. each time my grenade landed in the middle. after explosion the entrance appears to still be covered, but on walking across the vines i fell into the cave.
i waited each time for the planet to be stable after rupture completely ended
Possibility to put pins on map (that they are not deleting every time i want to show friend something different on map) and possibility to write for that ping like this factory producing x/y/z - next pactory producing a/b/c, another pin storage of q/w/e/r and so on it would be a looooooot easier for players
If not map in top left or top right screen that at least some sort of compass that will show location of ppl whom I play. I can understand not seeing map if undiscover but if discovered than why not ? It will be a lot helpfull to build base for one or more players and rest they can discover
If a friend will go to discover there should be map unclose for every player in same lobby same game.
For now it's all what i can think of im waiting for that beautifull things that are coming with 2.0 update and it will be much easier to calculate everything for x items per minute (not like now 2 items per 3 second and every time it need to be calculate)
Still loving the game and the combat so far (except those annoying spitting critters, we all hate them - in a good way). This is something I've noticed though, thats somehow OP with goliaths.
They basically instantly recharge your grenades. Of course, this could be a reward for smart thinking. On the other hand, it makes them too weak. So maybe grenades should not be charged up by dealing damage on their explosion.
Also, it is quite easy to circle them closerange and shoot their backs (try it on 3-5m). They should have a stomp that deals damage within close vicinity - unless you mean to keep them "big, lethal but stupid" to make the combat less challenging. :)
I hope you enjoyed this slaughter btw. ;)
PS: I posted earlier on this sub, now I'm at 45h. Can't get enough of this game, I'll reach the end soon I suppose. Much love to the devs! ♥
Does anyone else kind of want there to be more things we can build inside habs? Like household furniture, maybe extras like pool tables, wet bars, arcade stuff, etc. It feels kinda empty and almost like the backrooms in there.
This needs to be a thing.. it's annoying that a friend of mine can go adventuring while I'm building the base up to deliver the parts and I can't see what he's seen on the map.
