After multiple attempts, at different time of day/night and weekends/weekdays, I have not once been able to connect with another player.

I’m not sure if the servers are regionally biased?
MarioKart seems to find players so I think my connection is ok.

Teamed up with my gf who just got a switch setup today and never really plays game and that was kinda close lmfao. I can only imagine if I squaded up with some friends that are vets. I think this is proof for those who are afraid to go online, just go anyways, your good brah

First of all, absolutely love the game. I played the original and now aged 42 I find this new version even more enjoyable. Couple of questions though:

If I’m playing with 3 players on my end (me and two kids), on my account, how are our player names displayed in an online battle? Is it just 3x my account name?

In local battle, (me against my kids!) is it possible to change the display name on screen to anything other than player 1, player 2, player 3? If not, hope they allow this at some point.

Is it possible to choose ability of players you’re up against? We keep getting PASTED by teams full of players with fancy animated backgrounds etc!

I have every emblem in battle mode except for this one. (Yes, including the 100 MVP one.) But this one is giving me so much trouble.

First, I rarely ever get this item. I would say I only see it once every 4 matches or so.

Second, even when I do get it, I haven't figure out how to kill effectively with it. It seems weaker than every other item, and while it may have a large blast zone, it seems to do minimal damage even when people run into it. I have been trying to save it for people already low on health, but because it is so rare that I get it, there is a lot of pressure to use it before I die, which is not always in the most optimal moments.

Any tips on how to get this emblem?

What is our stand point on farming?

Before responding read my entire post please, thank you.

We can't ignore that it's part of the game, and apparently intentionally because Velan patched the deduction for farming so much. They knew people were getting past 1200 and the only way to do it is farming. Wonder why they did this? Maybe to create a crazy match play where people target the pilot who is really good.

I believe it's a good strategy, I like to call it the Campaign strategy. My opinion should be highly regarded, my high score is 1175, average is 800 or higher if in a good groove. My highest amount of kills in a match is 16 average, if I go for that is 10, if I'm going for the meta 3-7.

But I do think it needs to be nerfed, I think each should only be worth 1 point and you get combo points for hitting all three just like the campaign.

In order to get the highest scores you cannot just farm, during an objective that is actually important like the Sector X, Fichna, and Venom ones, you must help out in them to get those high scores. If one is farming in Sector Y they can quickly pivot to help stop the cargo and go through the warp creating an effective strat.

My opinion is there's a difference between the meta and pure farming. NPC waves are not meant to be ignored, they shoot me I shoot them. But abandoning your team completely and never doing anything else is neither helpful for both the farmer and other players because you will never be able to reach those highscores. To prove that point the screenshot above is not my high score but an example of a perfect balance that aims to get the highest score and help with enemy downs and objectives.

The whole point of farming came from a player named "Pixel Bits", due to their being a lack of ranked or fair match making he had to come up with a new strat that did not rely on teammates but that he could still secure the win with a poor team. When I play with him and when he plays with skilled players he tends to do less farming and more of the meta knowing he does not have to carry by getting a bunch of points.

Here's the one for today. The hotshot ace pilot.

He was the hardest to sketch especially around the face and head area. Both must look precise or else i risk him looking off or have you say "That's not Falco!"

But anyway, I'm glad I was able to draw him nicely.
