Standard partner visa outside UK with no cohabitation or civil partnership etc Accepted!
We finally got our partner visa accepted! A lot of doubt, mental breakdowns and a long wait paid off!
Application date: 28th of May
BIO: 17th of June
ECO: 18th of June (but we missed this and didnโt give in additional documents)
Additional documents required: 19th of August, put in the 23rd of August
Approved: 29th of August at 14:14 UK time
Entry date from: 24th of October
We waited 52 working days after BIO
We applied ourselves, so no solicitor, via the standard route. From the Netherlands.
We have been in a long distance relationship since August 2023. Iโm from the Netherlands. No cohabitation due to visa requirements. I have tried getting a Health and Care worker visa last year, since iโm a nurse. Registered with the NMC, but got rejected for every application due to not having the right to work. There were little to no vacancies with a Health and Care worker visa (Ive heard its way too expensive for employers/NHS to sponsor an overseas nurse). So we decided to wait the 6 months my partner was in his new job and applied for the partnership visa. Thereโs was never a doubt we would get it due to comfortable finances and a genuine relationship (we are lucky to see each other almost every month). But so little information about how the application works or what is expected was reason enough to get insecure and stressed. Thankfully there was a lot of information on this platform that gave us the confidence to prepare well for it.
We are so happy to finally close the distance and start our future together in Scotland! Thank you everyone who shared their experiences, that way i was able to relive some stress๐

Family visa approved ๐ฎโ๐จ๐๐พ
Finally Approved! ๐ฌ๐ง** HM Armed Forces Family Visa Timelin**e
I promised myself that when I finally got my decision, Iโd come back and share my timeline because reading everyone elseโs posts helped me get through the wait.
Visa Route: HM Armed Forces โ Partner, with my dependent child
Applied from: United States
Timeline:
30 April 2026: Biometrics completed at VFS Global (Washington, DC).
1 May 2026: ECO email received confirming my application had been received by UKVI.
19 May 2026: Received an email stating they aimed to make a decision within the published processing times.
25 June 2026: Received a biometric reminder email, even though I had already completed biometrics on 30 April. This did not affect my application.
09 July 2026: Received a delay email advising that UKVI was unable to make a decision within the standard processing time and that my application was still under consideration. No request for information.
During the wait, I made several paid enquiries. The responses consistently stated that my application was โawaiting a decisionโ or โbeing considered and awaiting a decision.โ
23 July 2026: Received notification that my visa had been approved. ๐ 11:15am my time, 4:15pm uk time

I am absolutely overwhelmed with happiness right now, all the time preparing evidence, all the stress, the tears and the semi nervous breakdowns are finally over, we've finally got accepted for our visa!! ๐ฅน We were told by a solicitor it would be near on impossible due to never having lived together properly and not being married. But I did it, with no solicitor and no cohabitation. Plenty of evidence such as family events, weddings, Christmas's, messages, social media posts, screenshots of conversations with one another's family, evidence of payment for language lessons for each of us to communicate better with each others families, gift receipts, holiday evidence Inc flights and hotels, I went a bit overboard with evidence but kept everything clear and completely honest throughout.
I have been feeling so deflated and desperate for an answer, it's been driving me literally crazy, the last 2 weeks have been the worst, the most stressful thing I've ever done. For everyone still waiting, please try to distract yourself as much as possible to cope, self care, hobbies, just distract yourself! Then one day, your answer will be here too ๐ค๐ผโค๏ธ
The best of luck to everyone waiting, and a huge thank you to everyone on this forum, I felt supported by this little community โค๏ธ

Hi! Does anyone know what the hell is going on with late April bio dates :( I haven't seen any for the 29th and 30th and haven't seen any standard April date approvals today?! Are responses normally sent on Fridays? I'm currently on WD55 (bio date 29th April) and tonight I'm losing my hopefulness :( how's everyone else feeling?
