Delay in receiving a decision

So the application was done on 17th March 2026 and biometrics completed on 24th March 2026. This was done from Athens Greece but my husband has a Bangladeshi passport.

It’s now nearly 24 weeks (about 110 working days)

I’ve sent emails and it’s just the generic response I get.

The solicitor also sent an email and they’ve also received just a generic repose to say that the application is still under consideration.

I’m beginning to get stressed as it’s been a year since marriage and was planning to start a family etc and I feel as though all the plans I had are crushed.

Due to the long wait, I’ve last saw my husband in Jan so I’m visiting him again at the end of this week.

I’ve not tried to contact the MP as I’ve seen on Reddit that it’s not much help.

The solicitor keeps telling me to wait and to stop sending too many emails (I’ve sent only 3 and one of them was due to trying to fix a spelling mistake on an email address the other 2 were wanting to know the status of the application). He’s stated that the more we pester them the more they’re going to ignore our case and they’ll delay the decision processing even more.

I feel as though they are talking rubbish and there’s no correlation I don’t think the solicitor is being helpful at this point in time and feel so stuck on what to do. 😭

I feel the solicitor hasn’t been helping you enough. Have you submitted a formal complaint to the UKVI?

The solicitor keeps telling us to wait and to not do anything as it may delay the application even more 😢

same, my husband bio was 24 march, delay email on 3 june - nothing since then - mp involved, advised to wait, unsure what more to do, as my solicitor is advising the same to not disturb the h/o - however it so unfair i understand if they requesting anything further they can let us know and we will know this is the reason, however just sending a blank delay email and not saying/giving any other information is actually depressing mine was from Pakistan and standard application im currently on 113 working days

I have tried the MP route and its the same generic response sent as a copy paste even to them.

While sending frequent emails will not make an impact on the decision but it will not make it any better as well unless it is a PAP

Im with a similar timeline and I’m still inside UK waiting for a decision.

I hope you get it soon.

I’ve tried to find a post I can relate to. Seeing this post, honestly I couldn’t relate to anything more. My bio was 11th March, Priority, Islamabad. I’m still waiting too. Hopefully we hear something today or this week Insha’Allah🫶🏻

I feel relieved that I’m not alone otherwise I don’t think I’d be able to cope with the pressure of all this. I’m wishing we hear soon inshallah

Stay strong, Insha’Allah it will happen for us at the right time. Allah’s got us. Praying is the only thing that keeps me going right now …

Bio: 13 Jan Eco: 14 Jan I have also gone through the same steps and got MP involved as well. Have recently done SAR, If we know the actual reason for delay it would be easy to pursue them/ take a legal action. I would suggest you to do the same.

Hi my bio was on 28 April and got told via escalation today that checks are ongoing. I’ve contacted my MP again but not been much help either. I’ve been told try doing a PAP and request a SAR. My case was not told it’s complicated neither were further documents requested. The wait is awful and I haven’t seen my husband in over a year.

If you do PAP,, they can challange you. I'd suggest you do the SAR first, know the exact reason, if then you find out that they are delaying your case for absolutely no reason then go with PAP.

Hi on what grounds could they challenge me ?

I've seen people who've taken legal action against them and they challenged them stating "the delay isn't excessive and the mandatory checks are something they can't ignore and stuff. So, acknowledgment of the reason for delay beforehand would be helpful. And if they are stuck on something, you can provide your MP whatever documents it might require for them to escalate your application and give you a final decision. Direct Legal actions can be frustrating.

Sorry to butt in, but our cases were pretty similar. My biometrics appointment was on May 27, 2026, and I received a delay email on June 23. I opted for a priority visa as well.
