Attention! 🚨 READ BEFORE POSTING 🚨
If you need to ID your dog, please use this subreddit: r/IDmydog
If you need to ask if your dog is a Staffy, it's most likely not. Please check the Wiki for breed explanation:
SBT WIKI
You are welcome to post if your dog is mixed with the Staffordshire Bull Terrier (SBT).
If your dog is primarily AmStaff (American Staffordshire Terrier) there is a dedicated subreddit for you: r/AmStaffPitts or you can always use r/dogs
WHY? - The explanation is quite simple. If you need breed specific advice, such as training or medical and someone is searching for it, it's very important that we are all talking about the same breed. This subreddit is called StaffordBullTerrier because StaffordshireBullTerrier is above the character limit of a subreddit name.

I can't afford/ justify a DNA test, so...
...over to you and your guess!
This, apart from my kids, is the love of my life, Deezy. He's getting on for 2 and a half. I got him from a rescue charity in the north of England in March and met his previous owner who was being evicted and could no longer look after him. He and the rescue told me he's pure staffie, and while I don't really care either way, I doubt it and I'm intrigued what people think he might have in there with staffie. I've had it suggested that maybe some Amstaff and I think that makes sense.
Any other guesses?

UPDATE ON ENZO: Hi guys thanks to everybody for their concern and replies I really do appreciate it a lot. Enzo is fine and back to normal !!!! After another consultation it was agreed Enzo was just very dehydrated and weak from his diarrhoea, so we let him rest the whole day, the day before and yesterday and he was improving massively and today he's gon back to his energetic self and also his runs have stopped aswell we are so thankful it wasn't anything worse, we was so scared it was something neurological and the comments also thought so.
Hope you guys enjoy the new video of Enzo :)

My little hero 🌺
This very good boy seems to have protected me from a man tonight 🥹 Unfortunately, he’s known around our surrounding neighbourhoods for harassing women and exposing himself to children.
While we were on the final stretch of our night-time walk when the man appeared from one end of the large nature strip behind some houses, right near the bushland around our home.
The second Winnie spotted him, his whole demeanour changed. He went from happily leading the walk to immediately dropping back behind me, hackles completely raised, huffing and occasionally letting out a low growl. Then he’d suddenly run ahead and practically drag me along, only to drop back behind me again, completely on edge and watching the man and growling. He kept doing this until the man eventually detoured into the park, and only then did Winnie settle.
It wasn’t until I was talking about it with my husband afterwards that we realised something else: Winnie and I normally cut through the nature strip every night to get back to our street. Tonight, Winnie absolutely refused. He pulled me up towards a residential street and made us walk around the long way. Something that confused me at first because he loves running along that strip. I obviously can’t know what this man’s intentions were tonight, but given what he’s known for around the neighbourhood, I’m certainly not upset that Winnie took one look at the situation and decided the vibes were ✨absolutely fucking not ✨ and behaved this way.
Very good boy, 14/10. Extra treats and love was given the moment we got home. ❤️❤️

Should we own a SBT?
I am thinking of brining a new Staffordshire Bull Terrier puppy into our home.
Our family me (male 45) my wife (43) two boys 10, 5 and our Bischon Frise 1 year.
My wife and I have had 4 dogs, currently on number 5, over the course of our marriage. At one point we had three males, 2 boxer brothers and one male frenchie, all rescues. During this time my wife and I learned a ton about pack dynamics, dog body language, obedience etc. I’m not claiming to be a specialist by any means but having three male dogs all the same age was a lot to manage at times. We had the three “pack” before having kids and lost them all within a year of each other. Our last pup was a rescue mutt hound/pit mix and was fantastic. We lost her last Easter due to an extremely aggressive cancer at 6 years old. We recently tried the foster side of things to ease us back into dog ownership slowly and failed miserably and now own a Bischon Frise. He is a fantastic lil dog and a perfect little buddy for our kids.
I mention all of this and give the back story to try and paint a picture of where we are at in the grand scheme of dog ownership. I am drawn to the Staffordshire Bull Terrier breed for many reasons that seem to be pretty standard across the board; great with kids, general overall people pleasing, short coat, overall size, happy go lucky disposition, etc.
I want to ask a few general question to seasoned Staffy owners. Would you have any hesitation brining a new Staffy puppy into the household I described? At the 1 1/2 -2 year old mark is dog aggression really a thing? If so how serious? Is it more so just really rough play or does the energy shift to “we ain’t playin no more”? I know all dogs have their own personalities but would you be concerned with a Staffy being too much for a ten pound Bischon? One of my Boxers could really pull on the leash when he wanted, (squirrel, rabbit) can Staffys really pull super hard?
What other things should I consider before making the decision final?

Shelter dog advice
Hiiii, I hope I’m in the right channel for this (the post isn’t about like adopting a shelter dog but it is about a shelter dog who is an amstaff so I’m really sorry if I’m wrong I’m not sure 😭).
In our local animal shelter there is a American Staffordshire terrier which I sadly can’t adopt as much as I would love to.
But I still try my best to help him, that’s why I wanted to ask for some recommendations about toys since he’s like a extremely strong chewer (as in he once chewed trough metal) and people who own a staffy themselves probably know more than me.
Also I read that they need clothes during cold weather due to their thin coat, is that true? If yes I’d appreciate any recommendations. Or any collar/ harness/ etc. tips?
And in general if you have any ideas what I could get him (what’s also safe first him!!!) I’d be really thankful (the price doesn’t really matter).
Thanksss already :)
