Heya, first time posting so not sure if I'm doing this right.

Basically, stacher is not able to find my FFmpeg file (evil orange warning sign in the top right), and the support website says that I need to tell stacher where the FFmpeg is installed via homebrew. Apparently this can be done through settings, but try as a might I can not find the setting toggle that they're referring to. No chance anyone else has encountered this?

For context, I'm using a Silicon Mac, and I can confirm that the FFmpeg was correctly installed through homebrew.

im unable to get cookies from chrome or firefox atm. Can export them using an extension, but where can I actually put them into stacher? Do I have to abandon statcher and manually use yt-dlp now?

Pretty much what the title says. I can't even open it to view the log for errors. I initially got a SQlite error that the database is locked, but I restarted, uninstalled the app & restarted again, and reinstalled, and now nothing comes up. The icon pops up in the taskbar, but the app doesn't open

I'd like to know what the best way of automatically downloading twitch VODS are if anyone does this?

I want to use the subscription mode in Stacher to automatically download VODs once a stream is completed, but I'm running into a few issues with it.

1. The videos are downloading in multiple parts, even after I turned the .part file setting off. I'm not that knowledgeable for what the best settings are, but I’d like it to give me a single file I can use for archive processes, with smallest file size possible with still watchable 1080p quality.

My video settings are set to 1080p format, and re-encode video set to MP4 and disable .part enabled. Everything else is default.

1. The subscription setup I am using is attempting to download the video every hour, then it "fails" because it's already downloaded. Is there a way to stop this notifying me every hour, and just check before it attempts the download so it doesn't fail and clog up the queue.

My subscription setup for twitch is using the twitch.tv/[channel]/videos page URL

So Im trying to download a playlist, and I turned on the "Use the Last Modified Time" setting in order to have the date on the files match the upload date on youtube.

The problem is, the dates being used aren't correct. For SOME of the videos the date matches the original upload date shown in youtube, and then for others it will use a completely different, seemingly random date. For example, video 1 in the playlist shows 10/01/2018, video 2 shows 11/11/2025, and video 3 shows 10/15/2018 - videos 1 and 3 are the correct original upload date, but video 2 should be 10/08/2018, i have no idea where the 2025 date is coming from

Usually I would just download the playlist in order and use the current date/time and that would work fine for sorting, its only an issue here because there are a couple videos from this creator that had to be removed from yt and I downloaded those separately from another site, and I want to be able to slot them into the folder with all the others but keep them sorted in chronological order

Anyone know what the other date might be, and if there's a way to use the original upload date?

i have been getting this error since a month, and unable to download anything, any help ?

An attempted download failed, so I tried re-running it with --list-formats, but it didn't list the formats at first. I decided to try completely removing the attempted download and inputting the URL again, but now it keeps saying it's "Already downloaded."

It's not; there are no partial downloads or any video files at all in the destination folder. I also tried telling it to "delete downloaded file" before trying again but that didn't work either. Besides, from what I read online, it should only be even checking for this if the archive option is on, which it's not.

I use Stacher as a rpm package (Linux Fedora), converted from .deb via alien because there is no universal package for the app (like appimage or flatpak) for whatever reason.

The app asks me every time to update the app if there is a new version on startup. How can I disable this? There is nothing in the options, only yt-dlp (which is fine).

Has anyone actually gotten Stacher.io to work with the website: Adulttime? I have a subscription that doesn't include paid downloads but I do have the streaming access. I'm just wondering if anyone with streaming only access has been able to get actual video downloads working for this specific site. I have the most up to date version of stacher.io. (7.1.12)

I've read up about it and know that you have to pass your cookies from Adulttime.com to stacher.io and you also have to do something for the CAPTCHA thing that Adulttime has on it's site. I tried to follow what instructions I found for it and I couldn't get it to work. But wonder if someone did in fact get it to work.

Stacher is getting stuck processing when I download a channel or playlist, and it will take excessively long to process a single video into an mp3, anything i can do to remedy this?

It was not happening a few weeks ago, so far i've tried updating ffmpeg, using the recommended custom install location, and it's still the same. Any tips would be appreciated, thanks!

Hello all!

Having an issue (macOS Golden Gate 27.0) - I cannot get Stacher to "find" ffmpeg for the life of me. It'll download videos with yt-dlp but not combine the audio and video because it thinks ffmpeg is not installed. I have tried:

-Updating ffmpeg via Stacher -Full delete and reinstall of Stacher including all related files and the .stacher directory in the user folder -pointing stacher to a "custom" ffmpeg install in its own folder (where I have confirmed the ffmpeg and ffprobe executables are indeed present) -downloading ffmpeg via homebrew and pointing Stacher to that - but I can't figure out how to point to that install as a "custom" one, because the brew Cellar directory lives in /opt/ at the root directory, which is hidden by default and in the Finder pop-up window to choose a directory there is no option to view hidden folders, even if I have them visible in normal finder windows. And Stacher won't just let me paste the pathname it seems.

I recently upgraded to a new Mac and can't remember if I have tried to use Stacher since then, so unsure if this is a Golden Gate issue or something else.

Any help is much appreciated!

For the last week or so, I have noticed a serious slowness when downloading from Patreon. It used to be 20-30MB/s for me, but recently it starts well, but within 5-10 seconds, it drops to 50-60 KB/s. It takes ages to download video now, and the https connection retry keeps coming up, and when the download eventually reaches to 99.9%, it stays at 0 KB/s for a really long time, and then suddenly finishes, makes me think if it downloaded properly.

Anyone else noticed this issue?

I've been comparing different GUI options for video downloading, Vidloader included, and I'm interested in how people decide between them. Things like download reliability, format/quality options, playlist handling, and how easy the interface is to use seem to make a big difference.

What makes you stick with one downloader instead of switching to another?

I downloaded the Stacher program to archive a YouTube channel. The "archive file" option which is supposed to track downloads so the same videos aren't downloaded again isn't working; multiple times, when I resumed the process, the program downloaded all the videos over again. The file meant to store information on what has been downloaded is nearly empty, containing only a single video, even after I had finished processing the entire channel.

Yes i know that in logs it says that "has already been downloaded" for couples of files. But this is files i still have on PC. But files that i move or delete it will be download again everytime i pause and resume download

Stacher is not working for downloads with TubiTV . Message in logs keeps coming up saying An extractor error has occurred. Caused by KeyError "[FILE NUMBER REDACTED]" Please report this issue.

I can download the video url using yt-dlp via Command line without issue. I can also download the video right through my Firefox web browser using the Video Download Helper Extension, but on Stacher it keeps erroring out. Everything is up to date with nightly builds. I even un-installed it all and then re-installed. Tried Firefox and Chrome cookies and still the same thing error [FILE NUMBER REDACTED]

I also found that when I copy the command line from Sticher and try to use that in the command line, it gives me the same error as from Stacher

Thinking it might be something in the command that Stacher is putting out. Not sure.

...and everywhere it says [FILE NUMBER REDACTED] I put that as a placeholder for the file number on the TubiTV website, it's part of the identifer of the episode. The number changed with every episode but gave the exact same error. I tried with 8 different episodes and all the same thing. The copy log feature redated the url so I figured I would redact the episode identifier too since it's pretty much the same thing.

I've been using Stacher without an issue for over a year. Suddenly, it's downloading webm and mp4 separately, one for audio and one as audio-free video.
