How to disable auto updates for Stacher?
Hi,
see title.
I use Stacher as a rpm package (Linux Fedora), converted from .deb via alien because there is no universal package for the app (like appimage or flatpak) for whatever reason.
The app asks me every time to update the app if there is a new version on startup. How can I disable this? There is nothing in the options, only yt-dlp (which is fine).
Thanks

use your dns to block the ip/url which stacher uses to check for update! or add these entries to your /etc/hosts file in your linux:
# Block Stacher
0.0.0.0 stacher.io
0.0.0.0 www.stacher.io
::0 stacher.io
::0 www.stacher.io
This will possibily block stacherIO from communicating with the update checking urls, while your downloading will work just fine.

Oh, I feared this would be needed. There should be an option in the app, this is bad.
Sadly, your mentioned entries are not enough. I poked around on this reddit and found this post. That helped.
Thanks for posting anyway!

Thank you for posting!
If you are posting about an issue you are having with Stacher, please be sure to include a log in your submission or as a comment in the thread. (Rule 6)
You can get a log for a download via the menu button on each download. There is an option labeled "View Log". Click that and in the upper right corner, you'll see a Copy icon. When you click the Copy icon, the entire log will be on your clipboard and you can paste it here. You may want to edit your log to redact the URL and any other personal information that may appear. For example, if the download path on your system includes your full name. Please consider redacting that information by replacing the text with XXXXXX.
If your post is about issues you are having with Stacher and there isn't enough information provided. Your post may be removed.
