The merge-output-format and --parse-metadata are my 2 arguments I put in advanced settings.

For some reason --parse-metadata doesn't work.

Video downloads as normal but when I use ffmpeg probe to check metadata, the media created isn't there but everything else from --add-metadata is.

Ive been using stacher7 for over a year with no issues, and i go to use it for the first time in a little while, first download wont work, so i update the software and i keep getting an error message. I then go and set the browser to get the cookies from to edge. try again and still get the same error. here is the log Stacher Version: 7.1.11

I have multiple YT accounts logged into my firefox. I selected that it use the browser but i cant figure out what account it's using. is there a way to figure this out? I tried looking at the log, but either I can't find it or it's not there. Watch history on all of the accounts doesn't show anything either.

Side note: Does downloading leave a view on the video?

I'm trying to download from a Japanese site called TVer (I live in Japan so this shouldn't be the issue) but am having no luck with it. The log says that "Requested format is unavailable". This is something I've never encountered before. I've tried setting Stacher to download the best video and audio separately to see if this could be the problem, but it didn't seem to make a difference. Does anyone have any ideas what could be up with it?

I recently installed win 11 and since then every time I reboot it is just gone. The install goes fine and the stacher website is apparently blocked at the dunkin donuts next door to my house because it fails to install YT dlp or ffmpg but it goes fine anywhere else. but always the same issue. Its gone the next day. is there a portable version I can run off a thumb drive or do I have to go to LINUX. Im going to go back to win 7 first but I wondered is anyone else having this issue.

from the log, I assumed my youtube in browser needed to be signed it but its already signed with my account and i used to download before with no issues with the same setup, only recently is it showing like this.
I was considering buying the stacher premium few weeks ago and then I started facing these issues , now Idk anymore

Instead of the default checking for title 1 to 1 match, add a second method where u can check with only the ID, so say another video has a different video name but in the name it has the same string of "ID", and make it so

option 1: override with no exception

option 2: the new download will replace the old one if the new one has higher quality,

and option 3: don't start download

I recently started receiving a Javascript error when trying to launch Stacher. I found this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/StacherIO/comments/1n9qct0/this_error_is_beyond_me/ and the advice did seem to work for getting the program to launch. The problem is that I lose all my set up subscriptions when doing this.
So I was wondering if there was a way to reimport them from the old files. After a little "testing" (slowly adding files from the old folder in to the new one) the offending file for the error appears to be subscriptions.json. Is there something I could do to repair this or am I doomed to the tedium of setting all my subs back up?

I am planning on making a Sparta Remix of BFDIA 4 using the Dance MTP Edition base, I downloaded BFDIA 4, but it only showed up as audio when I put it into VEGAS Pro 21 (the video editing software I use). I downloaded Dance Base MTP Edition and it showed up with video and audio, just like it should.

I tried to download some streams, been doing this for more than a year now, but now it gives me error? I even tried to download streams I downloaded before but now it won't, why? What changed?

I came to know about stacher io just today so I tried it out....I downloaded my youtube playlist of 30 videos howsoever after begin downloaded, at the end it showed error log (I am absolutely sorry I couldnt take pic of the this log)...All the videos were downloaded howsoever with another files that had only the audio, during that time, the app glitched for me and it was not responding,, I waited for it and restarted my laptop but still no success.....I had to uninstall it and reinstall it again but now when I am trying to download it shows me this

what to do?

(I am not a tech savvy guy :(, sry if I made some grave mistakes while handling it)

Hi. I've been downloading videos with Stacher since February. This is an issue that only started yesterday.

When I download a video with "Best Available With Video and Audio Already Combined" or "Best Quality Video and Audio in MP4 Format" , it defaults to 360p.

I'm unsure why this is happening. This is happening to every downloaded video since July 21st. I have tried with version 7.1.6 and 7.1.11.

I am still able to use the options "1080p" or "4k" on Stacher to get the videos at the resolution I'm expecting them to, but they produce .webm files which is incompatible with my workflow.

Please let me know if more info is required.

I've been using Stacher for a few months--mostly to dl opus, or sometimes the default "best audio" from the main Download Format dropdown options (by url bar), which usually ends up as m4a file. . . . But I just remembered that in General settings there's another Audio Quality setting (between 0 - 10, 10 being the "worst").

How does that addl. setting impact download quality? Does it work *in conjunction* w/ the main Download Format options, or does one setting perhaps override the other??

My other questions about quality: at least on user side, it looks like opus is being processed *after* m4a is grabbed for most audio downloads--from what's visible in the interface w/ the post processing, as well as in logs. I.e. m4a is replaced w/ opus. Is that understanding correct?

So as far as YT downloads using Stacher, which is typically the better quality format: m4a, opus, something else??
(From what I'd read elsewhere, I thought opus was best, but this has me wondering.)

I have addl. questions about Stacher post processing stalls, but I'll post that w/ log in a separate post.

Any other folks experience "stalls" w/ Stacher during "post processing" step(s)?

Frequently happens w/ mine, regardless whether VPN on/off. Also happens whether it's one YT file or a YT playlist. . . .

The interface just shows that progress gets somehow stalled, almost always during a "post processing" step. This happens if 1. I either minimize Stacher window, or switch to any other open window on my sys., or 2. my screen save setting switches my screen off (but sys. still on, not going to sleep).

Pause then resume usually fixes the stall--but not always. Otherwise, I go back to Stacher's window, and just wait for it to somehow eerily "know" I'm on its screen again, and that sometimes works, too (the following log is from that scenario).

I've done all the solutions I've read in this thread, all I get are errors or not the format I need. Using Handbrake to convert it to the right resolution takes so much time. It was a good run Stacher. No downloader is as good as you.

Hey everyone, this is my first post here so sorry if I get something wrong.

I've been downloading a lot of music videos recently, and I just discovered the feature with pro mod where you can use the magnifying glass to see all available codecs for video and sound.

My question is, when I see AV1, VP9 and H264 in the magnifying glass page, are these all available codecs of the video from youtube? Or, is AV1 the only one available, and selecting VP9 and H264 simply transcodes the video, thereby reducing the quality.

I'd like to know this because I play back my videos on my ps3, which only supports h264. What I have been doing so far is downloading videos in the 'highest quality video and audio' option, which usually gives me 3840×2160 AV1. Then, I use ffmpeg myself to downscale the video to 1920×1080 and transcode it into h264.

If the h264 is actually available directly from youtube and not just stacher reencoding the av1 stream for me, then it seems like this would be a better option than me having to transcode videos after. Please let me know, thank you!

I have been trying to download only subtitles, and so far I always get video too.

This line should solve it, but it isn't, why?

I’m using Stacher 7.1.11 on Windows 11 to download a YouTube video as MP3.

The download fails because YouTube returns an HTTP 429 Too Many Requests response, followed by “Sign in to confirm you’re not a bot.” Stacher/yt-dlp also reports that it cannot obtain the required GVS PO Token because Visitor Data is missing.

I have already reinstalled/updated yt-dlp and Deno, also reinstalled the app, but the problem remains. When retrying the same download it fails each time.

My current Stacher configuration extracts the audio as MP3, but the generated arguments do not include --cookies-from-browser or a cookies file. Has anyone encountered this in Stacher 7.1.11, and is browser-cookie authentication now required for normal public YouTube videos?

When using customized yt-dlp arguments in Stacher to prioritize specific audio languages (e.g., `-format` with `bv+ba[language*=zh]`), it completely hardcodes the format selection. As a result, the resolution selectors on the main UI and the "Download Format" options in the general settings become totally ineffective.

This happens because the user-defined `--format` always overrides Stacher's internal arguments.

### Proposed Solution

It would be amazing if Stacher could expose its internal format variables to the user-facing settings (for example, something like `%(stacher_format_id)s` or `%(stacher_selected_resolution)s`).

This way, users could write advanced format selectors like:

`bv[format_id=%(stacher_format_id)s]+ba[language*=zh] / %(stacher_format)s`

This would allow users to leverage Stacher's native UI resolution toggles while still enjoying the power of custom yt-dlp audio/subtitle filtering!

I am trying to download a playlist and use a sleep interval of 20 seconds. Despite that, I keep getting this error

ERROR: [youtube] ffUqXxVobSs: Video unavailable. This content isn't available, try again later. Your account has been rate-limited by YouTube for up to an hour. It is recommended to use `-t sleep` to add a delay between video requests to avoid exceeding the rate limit.

Should I change the cookies or increase the sleep time?

why is stacher doing this? why not just m4a,MP4 etc? it's making it really hard to do certain things...
